    							Please refer to the installation
    diagram supplied with the
    appliance.
,In order to reduce the risk of
steam damage, the area around the
    machine should be limited to
    furniture and fittings that are
    designed for use in commercial
    wash environments.
The washer-disinfector must be in a
    stable and level horizontal position.
Use the front screw feet to compensate
for unevenness in the floor or to adjust
    the height of the appliance.
    Installation options:
    –Free-standing
    – Slide-in:
Next to other machines or furniture or
in a suitable space. The space must
be at least 60 cm wide and 60 cm
    deep.
    –
    Undercounter:
    The washer-disinfector can be
    installed under a continuous
    countertop.
The recess must be at least 60 cm
wide, 60 cm deep and 85 cm high.
    Undercounter installation
To install the machine under a
    continuous countertop, the machine lid
    can be removed, as follows:
    ^Open the door.
^Unscrew the left and right fastening
    screws.
^Pull the lid forward approx. 5 mm,
then lift it upwards and off.
    Washer-disinfectors with a steam
    condensor:
To prevent steam damage to the
    countertop, the adhesive protective
foil (25 x 58 cm) delivered with the
    machine needs to be attached
    underneath the counter near the
    steam condensor.

How to position and secure the
    machine
    To ensure stability the
    washer-disinfector must first be aligned
and then secured to the countertop.
    ^Open the door.
    ^Screw the washer-disinfector to the
countertop through the left and right
    holes in the front trim.
^Do NOT use silicone sealant to seal
    the gaps between the
    washer-disinfector and any
    neighboring units as this would
    hinder ventilation to the circulation
    pump.
    How to protect the countertop
    Depending on your requirements for
    installation, contact Miele Customer
    Service for countertop protection kits.
The underside of the countertop is
protected from steam damage by a
stainless steel plate.Decorative frame and decorative
    panel (Option)
The front of the washer-disinfector can
be fitted with a decorative panel to
    match the cabinetry.
    Decorative panels should only be
    exchanged in accordance with all
    applicable safety regulations.
    Decorative panel dimensions:
    Outer door panel H 442 / W 586 mm
    Mounting plate H 117 / W 586 mm /
    D 1.2 mm thick
Toe kick service panel H 117 mm /
    W 586 mm / D 1.2 mm thick

    							,All electrical work must be
    performed by a suitably qualified
    electrician in accordance with local
    and national safety regulations.
    –Electrical connection should be
made via a suitable isolator with an
on-off switch which should be easily
    accessible for servicing work.
    –The electrical connection is made
    through a receptacle according to
    national requirements. The
    receptacle has to be easily
    accessible after installation.
    – For increased safety, it is URGENTLY
    recommended to install a protective
switch (30 mA) before the machine.
    – To replace the power cord, use only
original Miele replacement parts or a
suitable cord with core cable ends.
    – For technical data, see the data plate
    or attached wiring diagram.
The machine must only be operated
with the voltage, frequency and fusing
    shown on thedata plate.
    The machine can be converted
    according to the supplied conversion
    diagram and wiring diagram.
Thedata plateis located on the rear of
the machine, behind the plinth, on the
plastic cover.Thewiring diagramis secured to the
    machine.
    See the supplied installation
    diagram.
    WARNING THIS APPLIANCE
    MUST BE GROUNDED
    Grounding connection
The ground lead must be connected to
    the screw connection point (marked
with the ground symbol) at the back of
    the machine.
    ,The machine must only be
    operated with the voltage, frequency
and fusing shown on the data plate
located on the rear of the machine
and on the plinth (behind the service
    panel).
    Theconversion diagramand the

    							Connecting to the water inlet
,The water in the machine is NOT
    suitable for drinking.
–The machine must be connected to
the water supply in accordance with
    local and national regulations.
    –For technical application reasons,
the machine is supplied as standard
    for connection tocold water only.
The inlet hoses (water inlet and
    steam condenser) must only be
connected to the cold water inlets.
See also "DI water connection" (hose
    marked H2O pure).
    – High iron content can leave a rust
film on stainless steel items and on
the machine itself. If the chloride
content in the domestic water supply
is above 100mg/l, the risk of
corrosion damage to items is greatly
    increased.
    – Acceptable water pressure (flow
    rate): 10 - 147 psi
    –
    Recommended water pressure (flow
    rate): 25 - 60 psi
    –
If the water pressure is not in the
    range listed above, the "Fill/Drain"
indicator may come on and the fault
code "F..E" will appear in the display.
If this occurs, contact the Miele
    Technical Service Department for
    advice.–All inlet hoses are approx. 5ft (1.5 m)
long, ending with a 3/4" GHT female
    thread. Under no circumstances
should the inlet filters be removed.
–Water valves with 3/4" thread are to
be provided on site. They should be
    easily accessible because the water
supply will need to be turned off
    when not in use.
    –Large surface area filters are
    supplied with the machine for
installation between the inlet and the
inlet hose (see illustration under "How
to clean the water inlet filters"). The
large surface area filter for distilled
water is made of stainless steel and
can be recognized by the matte
    surface.
    ,NEVERattempt to shorten or
    otherwise compromise the inlet hose
    (see illustration).
    See the supplied installation
    diagram.

    							DI water connection
The machine is equipped for optional
connection to a DI water supply. When
the water pressure is below the
    recommended pressure, the water
    intake time is automatically extended.
    Acceptable water pressure (flow rate):
    10 - 147 psi
    Recommended water pressure (flow rate):
    25-60psi
    ^Connect the DI hose (pressure-tested
    and marked with "H
    2O pure") with 3/4"
GHT male thread to the on-site water
    valve for distilled water.
If the DI connection will not be used,
the electronics may need to be
    reprogrammed. The water intake
hose then remains at the rear side of
the machine unconnected. The DI water connection should not be
hooked up (or Y connected) to any
    water source, it should remain
    unconnected, unless DI water is
    available. The instructions below
re-program the unit to draw cold tap
water for the final rinse instead of the DI
    water.
    Access programming mode by
pressing and holding the "Display" and
    "Start" buttons while simultaneously
    turning the machine on.
    ^Press "Drying" once and E01
    (programming level) will appear in
    the display.
^Turn the program knob to the
11 o'clock position (will most likely
    display 110).
^110 = Set for DI water intake for final
    rinse.
^111 = Always cold water for final
    rinse instead of DI water.
    ^
Press "Display" until 111 appears in
    the display.
    ^
    Press "Start" twice to save.

    							Connect the water drain
–The drainage system is fitted with a
    non-return valve which prevents
    wastewater from flowing back into
the machine through the drain hose.
–It is best to connect the appliance to
    aseparatedrainage system on site.
The on site drain connection point
    must be located between 0.3 m (1ft)
    and 1 m (3ft)above the lower edge
    of the appliance.
If it is lower than 0.3 m, lay the hose
in a curve at a height of at least
    0.3 m.
The drainage system must be able to
handle a minimum drainage flow of
    16 l/min.
    – The drain hose is approx. 1.4 m long
    and flexible (internal diameter
22 mm). It must not be shortened.
Use the supplied hose clamps to
    secure it into position.
    – Longer drain hoses (up to 4 m) can
    be ordered through Miele.
    –
    The drainage system must not
    exceed 4 m.
    See the supplied installation diagram.
