    Switch the setting method of Quick Menu.
    [PRESET]:
    The Quick Menu will consist of the items that are displayed as icons on 
    the recording screen.

    •When the recorded picture and the histogram do not match each other under the following 
    conditions, the histogram is displayed in orange.
    –When the Manual Exposure Assistance is other than [n0] during Exposure Compensation or in the 
    Manual Exposure Mode
    –When the flash is activated–When suitable exposure is not achieved with the flash closed
    –When the brightness of the screen is not correctly displayed in dark places•The histogram is an approximation in the Recording Mode.•The histogram displayed in this camera does not match histograms displayed by picture editing 
    software used in PCs etc.
    [Histogram]
    This allows you to set either to display or not display the histogram.
    [ON]:
    Position can be set by dragging the 
    histogram.
    •
    Direct touch operation is also possible from the 
    recording screen.
    [OFF]
    A histogram is a graph that displays brightness along 
    the horizontal axis (black to white) and the number of 
    pixels at each brightness level on the vertical axis.
    It allows you to easily c heck a picture’s exposure.

    •When you align the subject on the horizontal and vertical guidelines or the cross point of these lines, 
    you can take pictures with well-designed composition by viewing the size, the slope and the balance 
    of the subject.
    •If it is set to [HOLD] when the camera is set to [ ] or [ ], switching of the playback screen 
    display or enlargement by rotating the rear dial is possible during Auto Review.
    •Regardless of the Auto Review setting, pictures will automatically be reviewed when taking burst 
    pictures with [SH] or [H] set, and recording with Auto Bracket. (Will not hold)
    •[Auto Review] is disabled when Burst Mode is set to [M] or [L].
    [Guide Line]
    This will set the pattern of guide lines displayed when taking a picture.
    []/[]
    [ ]: Position can be set by dragging the 
    [ ] on the guide line.
    •
    When it is difficult to move the guide line on the 
    screen edge by touch operation, use the cursor 
    button to set the position.
    •Direct touch operation is also possible from the 
    recording screen.
    [OFF]
    [Auto Review]
    Set the length of time that the picture is displayed after taking the still 
    picture.
    [HOLD]:
    The pictures are displayed until  shutter button is pressed halfway.
    [5SEC]/[3SEC]/[1SEC]/[OFF]
    [Highlight]
    When the Auto Review function is activated or when playing back, 
    white saturated areas appear blinking in black and white.
    This does not affect the recorded image.
    [ON]/[OFF]
    •
    If there are any white saturated areas, we recommend 
    compensating the exposure towards negative  (P88) 
    referring to the histogram  (P164) and then taking the picture 
    again. It may result in a better quality picture.
    •This does not work while in  Multi Playback, Calendar 
    Playback, or Playback Zoom.
    [ON] [OFF]

    •Set to [ON] to display the [Expo.Meter] when correcting exposure, 
    performing Program Shift, setting aperture, and setting shutter speed.
    •Unsuitable areas of the range are displayed in red.•When [Expo.Meter] is not displayed, switch the display information for 
    screen by pressing [DISP.]. (P40)
    •The [Expo.Meter] disappears after approximately 4 seconds if no operation is performed.

    •The battery will be consumed faster than usual.
    •Press the shutter button halfway again when it is difficult to focus on the subject.•The [Quick AF] feature is disabled in the following conditions:–In Preview Mode
    –In low light situations–With lenses that only offer Manual Focus–With some Four Third lenses that do not support contrast AF
    [Expo.Meter]Set whether or not to display the exposure meter.
    [ON]/[OFF]
    [AF/AE Lock][AE]/[AF]/[AF/AE]
    [AF/AE Lock Hold]
    This will set the operation of [AF/AE LOCK] button when taking a 
    picture with fixed focus or exposure.
    [ON]:The focus and the exposure remain fixed even if you 
    release [AF/AE LOCK] after pressing it.
    If you press [AF/AE LOCK] again, AF/AE Lock is canceled.
    [OFF]: The focus and the exposure are fixed only while you are 
    pressing [AF/AE LOCK]. (P104)
    If you release [AF/AE LOCK], AF/AE Lock is canceled.
    [Quick AF]
    As long as the camera is held steady, the camera will automatically 
    adjust the focus and focus adjustment will then be quicker when the 
    shutter is pressed. This is usef ul when you do not want to miss a 
    picture-taking opportunity.

    [Eye Sensor AF] [ON]/[OFF]

    It will set so no picture can be taken when it is out of focus.
    [ON]: You cannot take a picture until the subject is brought into 
    focus.
    [OFF]: This gives priority to the best time to take a picture so you 
    can take a picture when the shutter button is pressed fully.
    [Shutter AF]
    Set whether or not the focus is adj usted automatically when the shutter 
    button is pressed halfway.
    [ON]/[OFF]
    [Pinpoint AF Time]
    Sets the time for which the screen is enlarged when the shutter button 
    is pressed halfway with Auto Focus Mode set to [ ].
    [LONG] (Approx. 1.5 seconds) /[MID] (Approx. 1.0 seconds) /
    [SHORT] (Approx. 0.5 seconds)

    •The effective range of the AF Assist Lamp is different depending on the lens used.
    –When the interchangeable lens (H-PS14042, H-FS014042, H-FS45150) is attached and at Wide: 
    Approx. 1.0 m (3.29 feet) to 3.0 m (9.85 feet)
    •The AF Assist Lamp is valid only for the subject in the center of the screen. Use it by positioning the 
    subject in the center of the screen.
    •Remove the lens hood.
    •When you do not want to use the AF Assist Lamp (e.g. when taking pictures of animals in dark 
    places), set the [AF Assist Lamp] to [OFF]. In this case, it will become more difficult to focus on the 
    subject.
    •The AF Assist Lamp gets slightly blocked when the interchangeable lens (H-PS14042, H-FS014042, 
    H-FS45150) is used, but it does not affect the performance.
    •The AF Assist Lamp may be greatly blocked, and it may become harder to focus when a lens with 
    large diameter is used.
    •The setting for the [AF Assist Lamp] is fixed to [OFF] in the following cases.–[Distinct Scenery]/[Bright Blue Sky]/[Romantic Su nset Glow]/[Vivid Sunset Glow]/[Glistening 
    Water]/[Clear Nightscape]/[Cool Night Sky]/[Warm Glowing Nightscape]/[Artistic Nightscape] 
    (Scene Guide Mode)

    [AF Assist Lamp]
    AF assist lamp will illuminate the subject when the shutter button is 
    pressed halfway, making it easier for the camera to focus when 
    recording in low light conditions. (Larger AF area is displayed 
    depending on the recording conditions.)
    [ON]/[OFF]
    [AF+MF]
    It is possible to adjust focus manually after it was adjusted 
    automatically.
    [ON]: When AF Lock is ON (press the shutter button halfway with 
    the [Focus Mode] set to [AFS] or set AF Lock using [AF/AE 
    Lock]), you can make fine adjustments to the focus 
    manually.
    [OFF]

    [Power Zoom Lens]
    This may only be selected when using a lens that is compatible with 
    power zoom (electrically operated zoom).–
    The interchangeable lens (H-PS14042) is compatible with power zoom.–The interchangeable lenses (H-FS014042, H-FS45150) are not 
    compatible with power zoom.

    [Disp Focal Length]:
    When you zoom, the focal distance is 
    displayed and you can confirm the zoom 
    position.
    A Current focal distance
    [ON]/[OFF] [e.g.: When the 
    interchangeable lens  (H-PS14042) is used]
    [Step Zoom]:
    When you operate the zoom with this setting 
    [ON], the zoom will stop at positions 
    corresponding to predetermined distances.

    [Step Zoom] is disabled during motion picture 
    recording.
    [ON]/[OFF] [e.g.: When the 
    interchangeable lens 
    (H-PS14042) is used]
    [Zoom Resume]:
    When you turn this unit on, the zoom positions when you last turned 
    this unit off are automatically restored.
    [ON]/[OFF]
    [Zoom Speed]:
    You can set the zoom speed for zoom operations.
    •
    If you set [Step Zoom] to [ON], the zoom speed will not change.
    [Photo]:
    [H]  (High speed),  [M] (Middle speed),  [L] (Low speed)
    [Video]:
    [H]  (High speed),  [M] (Middle speed),  [L] (Low speed)
    [Zoom Ring]:
    This may only be selected when a power zoom-compatible lens with a 
    zoom lever and zoom ring is attached. When set to [OFF], the 
    operations controlled by the zoom ring are disabled to prevent 
    accidental operation.

    [LVF Disp.Style]
    This will set the display style of the viewfinder.

    [Eye Sensor]
    It will switch automatically to viewfinder display when an eye or object 
    gets near the viewfinder using an eye sensor. It will return to LCD 
    monitor display when it goes away.
    [Sensitivity]:
    This will set the sensitivity of the eye sensor.
    [HIGH]/[LOW]
    [LVF/LCD Auto]:
    Enables/disables  the eye sensor.
    [ON]/[OFF]
    [iA Button Switch]
    It is possible to set how the [ ¦] button to toggle to Intelligent Auto 
    (  or  ) Mode will operate.
    [Single Press]:
    It will switch to Intelligent Auto (  or  ) Mode by pressing [ ¦].
    [Press and hold]:
    It will switch to Intelligent Au to (  or  ) Mode by pressing [ ¦] for a 
    while.
    [Video Button]Enables/disables the motion picture button.
