    Playback/Editing
    Recorded motion picture can be divided in two. It is recommended for when you want to divide 
    a part you need with a part you do not need.
    Dividing a motion picture is permanent. Decide before you divide!
    1Select [Video Divide] on the [Playback] menu. (P64)
    2Drag the screen horizontally to select a motion picture to divide, and touch [Set].
    Note
    •
    The [Video Divide] feature only works on motion pictures recorded on this camera.
    •Avoid trying to divide motion  picture near the very beginning or end of the motion picture.•With [MP4] motion pictures, the order of pictures will change if divided.
    It is recommended to search these motion pictures by using Calendar Playback  (P58) or [Video 
    Only] in the [Playback Mode].
    •You cannot use [Video Divide] for the following pictures.–Motion pictures with a short recording time
    [Video Divide]
    3Touch [ ] at the location to divide.
    •Motion picture is played back from the same location when [ ] is 
    touched again.
    •Make fine adjustments to the division position by touching [ ]/[ ] 
    while the motion picture is paused.
    •Display at the right of the screen corresponds to  3/4 /2/ 1 on the 
    cursor button.
    4Touch [ ].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    •Motion picture may be lost if the card or battery is removed while processing the dividing.

    Playback/Editing
    To allow easy posting to web pages, attachment to e-mail etc., picture size (number of pixels) is 
    reduced.
    1Select [Resize] on the [Playback] menu. (P64)
    2Touch [Single] or [Multi].
    Note
    •
    You can set up to 100 pictures at one time in [Multi].
    •The picture quality of the resized picture will deteriorate.•It may not be possible to resize pictures recorded with other equipment.•You cannot use [Resize] for the following pictures.
    –Motion pictures–Burst Picture Group–Pictures stamped with [Text Stamp]
    –Pictures taken with [ ], [ ] or [ ]
    [Resize]
    3Select the picture and size.
    [Single] setting
    1 Drag the screen horizontally to select an image, and then touch 
    [Set].
    2 Touch the size you wish to change, and then touch [Set].
    •
    Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is 
    selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    [Multi] setting
    1Touch the size you wish to change.
    2 Touch a picture (repeat).
    •
    Selection will be canceled by touching the same picture again.
    3Touch [OK].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is 
    selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.

    You can enlarge and then clip the important part of the recorded picture.
    1Select [Cropping] on the [Playback] menu. (P64)
    2Drag the screen horizontally to select an image, and then touch [Set].
    3Select the parts to be cropped.
    Touch [ ]: Enlarge
    Touch [ ]: Reduce
    Drag: Move
    •
    You can also move using the cursor buttons 3/4/2 /1.•Enlarge/reduce can also be performed by rotating the rear dial.
    4Touch [Set].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    Note
    •The picture quality of the cropped picture will deteriorate.•It may not be possible to crop pictures recorded with other equipment.•You cannot use [Cropping] for the following pictures.
    –Motion pictures–Pictures stamped with [Text Stamp]–Pictures taken with [ ], [ ] or [ ]
    •Information regarding the Face Recognition in the original picture will not be copied to images 
    having undergone [Cropping].

    You can manually rotate the images by 90o each time.
    1Select [Rotate] on the [Playback] menu. (P64)
    •The [Rotate] function is disabled when [Rotate Disp.] in the [Setup] menu is set to [OFF].
    2Drag the screen horizontally to select an image, and then touch [Set].
    •The [Rotate] function is disabled for Burst Picture Groups.
    3Select the rotation direction.
    Touch :
    The picture rotates clockwise in steps of 90 o.
    Touch :
    The picture rotates counter-clockwise in steps of 90 o.
    •
    Exit the menu after it is set.
    Note
    •When you play back pictures on a PC, they cannot be displayed in the rotated direction unless the 
    OS or software is compatible with Exif. Exif is a  file format for still pictures which allows recording 
    information etc. to be added. It was established by “JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information 
    Technology Industries Association)”.
    •It may not be possible to rotate pictures that have been recorded with other equipment.

    You can do the following if a mark has been added to pictures and they have been set as 
    favorites.
    •
    Play back the pictures set as favorites only as a slide show.
    •Play back only the pictures set as favorites. ([Favorite Play])•Delete all the pictures not set as favorites. ([All Delete Except Favorite])
    1Select [Favorite] on the [Playback] menu.  (P64)
    2Touch [Single] or [Multi].
    ∫ canceling all the [Favorite] settings
    1Select [Favorite] on the [Playback] menu.
    2Touch [Cancel].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    •In [Playback Mode] the [Cancel] Mode is disabled.

    •You can set up to 999 pictures as favorites.•You may not be able to set pictures taken with other equipment as favorites.
    •You cannot use [Favorite] for the following pictures.–Pictures taken with [ ]

    3Select the picture.

    Select the picture and touch [Set/Cancel].

    Setting is canceled by touching [Set/Cancel] again.•Exit the menu after it is set.
    [Multi] setting
    Touch the pictures you wish to set as favorites.

    DPOF “Digital Print Order Format” is a system that allows the user to select which pictures to 
    print, how many copies of each picture to print and whether or not to print the recording date on 
    the pictures when using a DPOF compatible photo printer or photo printing store. For details, 
    ask at your photo printing store.

    When you set [Print Set] for a burst picture group, the print setting for the number of prints will 
    be applied to every picture in the group.
    1Select [Print Set] on the [Playback] menu.  (P64)
    2Touch [Single] or [Multi].
    4Touch [ ]/[ ] to set the number of prints, and then touch [Set].
    •When [Multi] has been selected
    –repeat steps 3 and 4 for each picture. (It is not possible to use the same setting for a 
    multiple number of pictures.)
    •[999+] is displayed on the screen, if the total number of prints you set for a burst picture group 
    is more than 1000 pictures.
    •Exit the menu after it is set.

    2Touch [Cancel].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected.

    ∫To print the date
    After setting the number of prints, set/cancel pr inting with the recording date by touching [Date].
    •
    Depending on the photo printing store or the printer,  the date may not be printed even if you set to 
    print the date. For further information, ask at your photo printing store or refer to the operating 
    instructions for the printer.
    •The date print feature is disabled for pictures that are stamped with text.
    Note
    •The number of prints can be set from 0 to 999.•Depending on the printer, the date print settings of the printer may take precedence so check if this 
    is the case.
    •It may not be possible to use the print settings with other equipment. In this case, cancel all the 
    settings, and reset the settings.
    •If the file is not based on the DCF standard, the DPOF print setting cannot be set.•You cannot use [Print Set] for the following pictures.–Motion pictures
    –Pictures taken with [ ]

    You can set protection for pictures you do not want to delete by mistake.
    1Select [Protect] on the [Playback] menu. (P64)
    2Touch [Single] or [Multi].
    ∫ canceling all the [Protect] settings
    1Select [Protect] on the [Playback] menu.
    2Touch [Cancel].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    Note
    •The [Protect] feature is only designed to work with this camera.•Even if you protect pictures on a card, they will be deleted if the card is formatted.
    •Even if you do not protect pictures on a card, they cannot be deleted when the card’s Write-Protect 
    switch is set to [LOCK].
    You can clear and replace all information relating to face recognition in selected images.
    1Select [Face Rec Edit] on the [Playback] menu.  (P64)
    2Touch [REPLACE] or [DELETE].
    3Drag the screen horizontally to select an image, and then touch [Set].
    4Touch the name of the person you wish to edit.
    5(When [REPLACE] is selected) Touch the person to replace.
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. 
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    Note
    •Cleared information regarding the [Face Recog.] cannot be restored.•When all Face Recognition information in a picture has been canceled, the picture will not be 
    categorized using Face Recognition in [Category Play].
    [Protect]
    3Select the picture.
    [Single] setting
    Select the picture and touch [Set/Cancel].
    •
    Setting is canceled by touching [Set/Cancel] again.•Exit the menu after it is set.
    [Multi] setting
    Touch the picture you wish to protect.
    •
    Setting is canceled by touching the same picture again.•Exit the menu after it is set.

    Connecting to other equipment
    Enjoying 3D pictures
    Attaching the 3D interchangeable lens (H-FT012: optional) to the camera allows you to take 3D 
    pictures for extra impact.
    To view 3D pictures, a television that supports 3D is required.
    1Attach the 3D interchangeable lens to the camera.
    2Bring the subject into the frame and record by pressing the shutter 
    button fully.
    •Focusing is not required when recording 3D pictures.•Still pictures recorded with the 3D interchangeable lens attached are saved in MPO format 
    (3D).
    Note
    •You cannot record 3D pictures in vertical orientation.
    •It is recommended to use a tripod or a flash to record steady pictures.•When a distance to the subject is 0.6 m (1.97 feet) to approximately 1 m (3.29 feet), horizontal 
    disparity becomes too great, and you may not see the 3D effect at the edges of the image.
    •Up to approx. 490 3D pictures can be recorded on a 2 GB card. (When the aspect ratio is set to 
    [ X ], and the quality is set to [ ].)
    •Read the operating instructions of the 3D interchangeable lens for details.
    Taking 3D pictures
    3D picture
    The illustration is an image.
    To ensure that the 3D pictures can be safely viewed, pay attention to the following 
    points when recording.
    •
    Where possible, record with the unit in a horizontal state.•The suggested minimum subject distance is 0.6 m (1.97 feet).
    •Be careful not to shake the camera while in a vehicle or walking.

    ∫Functions that cannot be used during 3D recording
    When recording with the 3D interchangeable lens (H-FT012: optional), the following feature will 
    be disabled:
