OPERATING PROCEDURES
Controlling Video Inputs &
Monitors
Operations on the front panel can control video inputs on
the spot monitor or multiscreen monitor.
On the Spot Monitor
Selecting the Spot Monitor
1. Press the [SPOT/MULTI] button to turn the LED in the
button on. The spot monitor is ready to be operated.
2. Follow the descriptions below for each monitoring mode
on the spot monitor.
Viewing a Single Live Spot
A selected live image is displayed on the spot monitor until
a new input selection is...

3. Rotate the JogDial to move the zoomed area to the right
and left, or press the [
D] or [C] button to move the
area up or down.
4. Press the JogDial repeatedly to select an appropriate
enlargement ratio.
Pressing the JogDial :Increases the ratio (x2 →x4)
5. Hold down the [ZOOM] button for 2 seconds to cancel
the zoom mode.
Viewing a Single Live Sequence
The multiscreen monitor and spot monitor can display a sin-
gle live sequence. 
A series of input images is displayed in succession on the

Built-in Motion Detector
The recorder detects motion for each of the eight video
inputs, based on certain changes in the video signal.
Built-in Video Loss Detector
The recorder detects any disconnection of the video inputs.
The images of the disconnected channel will not be record-
ed.
Alarm Output
The recorder performs the following actions when an alarm
is input.
Front Panel Indicators
When an alarm is received, the ALARM indicator blinks and
the LED in the corresponding [CAMERA SELECT] button...

Monitor Display
There are two monitoring modes, alarm associated (SPOT)
mode and alarm ignore (OFF) mode, depending on the
selection for MONITOR MODE in the ALARM SETUP menu.
Typical cases are described below for each setup.
Alarm Associated Mode
•The image of the alarmed input is displayed on the mul-
tiscreen monitor in single spot mode, interrupting what-
ever live, playback, single or multiple image previously
displayed. When a new alarm is received, the last acti-
vated input image will be...

External Reset
The activated alarm event except video motion detection, is
reset when the recorder receives an external reset signal
from the connected device via the REMOTE/ALARM con-
nector on the rear panel.
The ALARM indicator changes from blinking to a steady
light.
Pressing REC STOP Button
Pressing the [REC STOP] button resets alarm status and
recording when MONITOR MODE is set to OFF. When
SPOT is set, only the [ALARM RESET] button will reset
alarm status and recording.

Recording
Notes: 
•When SIMUL REC&PLAY (simultaneous recording and
playback) is set to OFF in the setup, any recording will
stop playback and start the recording. Playback is
unavailable while recording.
•When set to ON, recording is available while playing
back.
•The recording rate will degrade to 15 FPS while display-
ing a quad split screen.
Internal Timer Recording
When INT is set for TIMER in the WJ-HD200 MAIN menu,
the presets made in the internal timer will take effect.

Alarm Recording
Alarm recording starts when an externally connected sen-
sor is turned on, the built-in VMD (Video Motion Detector) or
the built-in video loss detection is activated.
Alarm recording will proceed, then stop when the post-
recording time has elapsed.
If more than one alarm arise, for instance ALM1 and ALM2,
the images of the alarmed inputs are recorded on the disk
as shown in the figure.
Note:HDD indicator will continue to blink for a period
equivalent to the specified pre-alarm time...

3. Rotate the JogDial clockwise to move forward in the
recorded data or counter-clockwise to move backward. 
The more turns you rotate the JogDial, the faster the
skip speed will be.
4. Press the [STOP] button to stop playback.
Step Playback
A minute search is made for a desired picture field by field.
1. Press the [PLAY] button to start playback.
2. Press the [STEP] button to start step playback. The LED
in the button blinks. 
3. Rotate the JogDial clockwise to advance to the next
later field or...

6. Repeat from step 1 to search for another time and date
or press the [TIME&DATE SEARCH] button to cancel
the function. Pressing the [STOP] button will also end
the searching.
Note: Searching may take the recorder 18 seconds at
worst
Multiscreen Playback
You can view a multiple playback image displayed in 4-split
or 9-split pattern on the monitor at a time.
