Tips for taking good pictures
AAF assist lamp
•Do not cover the flash or the AF assist lamp with 
your fingers or other objects.
•Hold the camera gently with both hands, keep your 
arms still at your side and stand with your feet slightly 
apart.
•Be careful not to move the camera when you press the 
shutter button.
•When taking pictures, make sure your footing is stable 
and there is no danger of colliding with another 
person, an object etc.

Taking a Still picture
1Select [FOCUS MODE] from the [REC] Mode 
menu. (P56)
2Press [MENU/SET] to select the item.
•Normally use the [AFS].
•Exit the menu after it is set.
How to set focus when taking a still picture (AFS/AFC)
AFS“AFS” is an abbreviation of “Auto Focus Single”.
Focus is set automatically when the s hutter button is pressed halfway. Focus 
will be fixed while it is pressed halfway.
AFC“AFC” is an abbreviation of “Auto Focus Continuous”.

•Open the flash when the flash is to be used.  (P72)•When [ ] is selected, [ ], [ ], [ ] or [ ] is set depending on the type of subject and 
brightness.
