Changing the handset name
E ach handset can be given a customized
name (“Bob”, “Kitchen”, etc.). This is useful
when you make intercom calls between
handsets. You can also select whether or not
the handset name is displayed in standby
mode. The default setting is  “No ”. If you select
“ Yes ” without entering any handset name,
“ Handset 1 ” to  “Handset 6 ” is displayed.

Using Caller ID service
I mportant:
R This unit is Caller ID compatible. To use
Caller ID features, you must subscribe to a
Caller ID service. Contact your service
provider/telephone company for details. Caller ID features

hen an outside call is being received, the
caller information is displayed.
Caller information for the last 50 callers is
logged in the caller list from the most recent
call to the oldest.
R If the unit cannot receive caller information,
the following is displayed:

Answering system
T he answering system can answer and record
calls for you when you are unavailable to
answer the phone.
You can also set the unit to play a greeting
message but not to record caller messages by
selecting  “Greeting only ” as the recording
time setting (page 40).
Important:
R Make sure the unit’s date and time setting
is correct (page 12). Memory capacity (including your

The total recording capacity is about 38

Answering system settings
Call screening
W hile a caller is leaving a message, you can
listen to the call through the handset’s
speaker. To adjust the speaker volume, press
M D N or  MC N repeatedly. You can answer the call
