26Apps List Organize Your Apps The Apps shortcuts can be organized in folders and listed alphabetically or in your own custom order. Change the Order Apps Are Listed 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps. 2. T ap More options > View as. 3. T ap an option: • Custom: The default view, which allows you to touch and hold apps to move them from screen to screen. • Alphabetical order: App shortcuts are arranged in alphabetical order. Use Folders to Organize Apps To create a folder: 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps. 2. T ap More options > Create folder. 3. Ent er a folder name. 4. T ap More options to change a folder’s color scheme, and then tap More options to continue. 5. T ap Add application, select apps to include in the folder, and then tap DONE. To launch apps in a folder: ► T ap a folder, and then tap an app shortcut to launch it. To remove a folder: 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps. 2. T ap More options > Remove folder. 3. T ap a folder to select it. 4. T ap DONE. Hide or Show Apps Hide Apps from View You can hide (rather than uninstall or disable) any apps you do not want to see on the Apps list. 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps. 2. T ap More options > Hide apps. 3. T ap apps to hide, and then tap DONE. Show Hidden Apps You can unhide apps you have hidden and put them back on the Apps list. 1. T ap More options for these options: • Edit: Touch and hold an app shortcut then drag it to: - Create page to add another page to the Apps list. - Create folder to create a new folder. - App info to view information about this app. - Disable to disable the app. - Uninstall to uninstall the app. Preloaded apps cannot be uninstalled. • Create folder: Create a new folder to hold apps. • Remove folder: Remove folders that you have created. This option appears only if folders have been created. • View as: Choose how apps are listed. • Downloaded apps: View apps that you have downloaded. • Uninstall/disable apps: Uninstall an app that you downloaded to your device, or disable a preloaded app (preloaded apps cannot be uninstalled) . Touch Uninstall/Disable to remove or disable the selected app. • Hide apps: Hide apps from the Apps list. • Show disabled apps: Display disabled apps. This option appears only if apps have been disabled. • Show hidden apps: Display hidden apps. This option appears only if apps have been hidden. • GALAXY Essentials: View and download Samsung Apps that are optimized for use with Galaxy devices. • Help: View information about your device. 32Other Applications Here are some other applications provided on your device. Dropbox Use this application to save and share files with others via the Dropbox cloud storage. When you save files to Dropbox, your device automatically syncs with the web server and any other computers that have Dropbox installed. Flipboard Use this application to access your personalized magazines. Kids Mode Kids Mode creates a child-friendly environment on your device. The following apps are available: Drawing, Gallery, Camera, Music. All content available to the child is controlled in the Parental Controls section. Mobile Hotspot Use Mobile Hotspot to share your device’s mobile data connection using a USB cable or as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. T ap the appropriate arithmetic function key. 4. Ent er the next number. 5. T o view the result, tap the Equals key. Additional Functions To clear the results: ► T ap Clear. To clear the calculator history: ► T ap History > CLEAR HISTORY. To copy all or part of the calculation to the clipboard: ► T ouch and hold an entry in the display field. 34Calendar Calendar Manage your events and tasks. Calendar View To choose a calendar view: 1. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Calendar. 2. T ap Menu and tap one of the following: • Yea r : Display all twelve months of this year. Swipe across the screen to display another yea r. • Month: Display the current month. Swipe across the screen to display another month. • Month and agenda: Display the current month and any events or tasks for the month. • Week : Display the current week. Swipe across the screen to display another week. • Day : Display today’s schedule by hour. Swipe across the screen to display another day. • Agenda: Display all events and tasks. 3. Tap TODAY to return to the current date. Create an Event or Task 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Calendar. 2. T ap Add and use one of the following methods: • Add event: Enter an event with an optional repeat setting. • Add task: Enter a task with an optional priority setting. 3. Ent er details for the event or task, and then tap SAVE . Delete an Event or Task 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Calendar. 2. T ap an event or task to view it. 3. T ap Delete . To delete multiple events or tasks: 1. T ap More options > Delete . 2. S elect events or tasks. 3. T ap DONE. Share Events 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Calendar. 2. T ap to view an event or task. 3. T ap More options > Share via, select a sharing method, and follow the prompts. F rom a Home screen, tap Apps > Camera. 2. Usin g the display screen as a viewfinder, compose your shot by aiming the camera at the subject. While composing your picture, use the onscreen options or these gestures: • Touch the screen with two fingers and pinch or spread them on the screen to zoom in and out. • Tap the screen to focus on the area you touched. 3. If desir ed, before taking the photo, you can touch onscreen icons to access various camera options and settings. You can also touch the screen to move the focus field to the area you touch. 4. T ap Take a picture to take the picture. Note : You can also press the Volume key up or down to take a picture. This is the default action of the Volume key. You can also set the Volume key to act as the video record key or as a zoom key. Applications
