Adding optional external devices
3In the lower right of the screen touch the Power () 
icon.

4Touch the Sleep option.
Sleep mode saves the current state of the device to 
memory so that, when you restart the device, you can 
continue working from where you left off.

setting up your software. See “Setting up your software” 
on page 39.

❖During the Refresh or Reset process your computer 
must be connected to an external power source via 
the AC adaptor.
❖When you Refresh your system, only the operating 
system files and drivers originally shipped with the 
computer may be restored. Any files that you created 
may not be restored during this process. Be sure to 
separately save the files you have created to external 
media using Windows
® or another backup program.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Your data will be copied into the 
backup folder. All of the data will be moved to this folder 
during the recovery process, however the current 
directory structure will be retained.
1Press the 
Windows® ( ) button on the side of the 
device to display the Start screen and swipe in from the 
right edge of the screen.
2When the Windows
® charms appear touch the Settings 
( ) charm.
3Touch 
Change PC Settings.

Toshiba does not guarantee successful data back up. Be 
sure to save your work to external media before 
executing the recovery (see “Backing up your work” on 
page 56).
7Touch the 
Next button to begin.
The “Ready to refresh your PC” screen appears.

You will be prompted to refresh your system.

9Your system will restart.
The “Refreshing your PC” window appears. When the 
process is complete your system will reboot your 
Windows
® operating system.
Reset your PC
The recovery process deletes information stored on the 
internal storage drive. Be sure to save your work to 
external media before executing the recovery (see 
“Backing up your work” on page 56).
During the recovery process your computer be must 
connected to an external power source via the AC...

6Select Remove everything and reinstall Windows, 
and touch 
Get Started.

Your device comes with a built-in display, but you can also 
connect an HDMI™-compatible television or external display 
device via the Micro HDMI™ Out port*.
To locate your Micro HDMI™ Out port*, please refer to

2Connect the monitor’s video cable to the Micro HDMI™ 
Out port on the side of the display panel/tablet.
3Connect the device’s power cable to a live electrical 
outlet.
4Turn on the external device.
Your device will automatically detect the external display 
device.

1Swipe in from the right edge of the screen.

There are several ways in which you can customize your 
device to suit your particular requirements. You can go into 
your device settings to make adjustments to your device to 
suit your needs.
