    -iNSTALLING
    AN EXTERNAL
    JIMPLIFIERISPEAKER
If an external amplifier/speaker is to be instalkd at a given
station, the the stand&d station wiring and Set installation
procedures must be m&ied for that station as follows (see
also t&3 diagram to the right):
a Instead of mounting a 4conductor RJ14 jack at the
station location (see Step 3 hz, mount a 6-conductor
    RJ25jack
    NOTE
The 4-conductor station wiring cable between
the 66-block tcnCna$ and the station wiring
    j:;.ck s &:I, 4-,17- . .L
    U= .u.Lvw3 ~;s c!&aiIs given in the station
wiring table on pages D-5 through D-9 r with
the 4 wires still running from the same 66
block terminals and being inst.alIcd color-lo-
    ’ coIor on the jack, green-to-grtin, red-to-red,
    ! black-to-black, and yellow-toyellow.
    b. Connect the external amplifier to the bIue and
white tennina.& of the RI25 station wiring jack
    -.
c Instead of using the 4-conductor mod&r cord sup-
plied with the Set (see Step 4 g), use a standard 6-
conductor moduIar cord to connect the Set to the
    station wiring jack
    NOTE
The extemat ampIifier/sp&er is now connect-
    txltotheSetsipeakerterminals.
d Check to see that signaling and voice messages
norma.lIy he&d over the Set’s speaker will now be
    heard over the external amplifier/speaker.
‘c To return the Set to its normal operation, simply re-
pIace the 6-conductor cord between the Set and the
    station wiring
jack with the 4-conductor that was
    originally supplied with the Set.
    . by plugging
    6-conductor ’
