c Vewfinder 
The Electronc Vewfinder dsplays the same nformaton as 
the LCD screen. To swtch between the LCD screen and the 
Electronc Vewfinder, press the 
 button. When selectng 
the EVF ndcator, the LCD screen wll automatcally shut 
off.

Your camera s equpped wth two types of zoom functons: 
optcal zoom and dgtal zoom. Press the Zoom button of 
the camera to zoom n or out of the subject whle takng 
pctures.

When the optcal zoom reaches ts maxmum value, release 
the Zoom button and then press t agan for the dgtal 
zoom to begn. The zoom  nd cator  s h dden after the Zoom 
button s released. The screen shows ( 
 ) for the current 
zoom status.
Shootng n Auto Mode 
Auto mode s the easest mode to take photos. Whle 
operatng n ths mode, the camera automatcally optmzes 
your photos for best results.
To start shoot

ng, do the followng:
1.  Push ON/OFF to turn on the camera.
2.  Sw
 tch the Mode dal to Auto mode (  ).
3.  Compose your p
 cture on the LCD screen and press the 
Shutter button halfway to focus on the subject.
4.  The LCD screen w
 ll show a green focus frame after the 
subject s n focus.
5.  Press the Shutter button fully to capture the 
 mage.

Open Flash
The flash s used to llumnate a subject n low lght or for 
fill-n l ght ng to ach eve better  llum nat on of a subject w th 
pronounced shadows.
1.

  To turn on the flash, press the flash 
 button.
2.  Press the left button to enter the flash Functons menu.
3. Press the Left/Rght button to select from the followng 
6 modes:
• 
  Flash: Auto 
Camera flash goes off automat cally based on 
exstng lght condtons.
• 
  Flash: Red-eye reducton  
The camera em
ts a bref flash before the pcture 
s taken to reduce red-eye effects.
• 
  Flash: Forced flash 
Make forced flash at the moment of shoot ng. 
• 
  Flash: Forced off 
Flash 
s turned off.
• 
  Flash: Slow Synchro  
Th
s allows for nght scenery photos that nclude 
people n the foreground. The use of a trpod s 
recommended when shootng wth ths settng.

Self-tmer
Ths settng allows the photographer to set the camera 
for self portrats or group shots. The tmer can be set to 
fire the shutter 2 seconds, or 10 seconds after the shutter 
button 

s pressed.
1.  Press the Down button to enter the Self-tmer menu.
2. Press the Left/Rght button to select the followng 
three modes: 
• 
  Self-tmer: 2 sec

ngle pcture s shot 2 seconds after the 
Shutter button s pressed. • 
 
Self-tmer: 10 sec

ngle pcture s shot 10 seconds after the 
Shutter button s pressed.

Macro Mode
The Macro settng s deal for shootng small objects or 
close-up photos. Ths mode allows you to focus on subjects 
very close to the camera.
1.

  Press Rght button to enter the Macro menu. 
2.  Press the Left/Rght button to select the followng two 
modes: 
•
  Macro: On 
Select th
s to focus on subjects 5cm from the 
lens.
•
  Macro: Off 
Select ths opton to dsable Macro.
3.

  Press the 
 button to confirm the settngs and ext 
the menu.
EV (Exposure Value) 
The EV control allows for an overrde of the camera's auto 
exposure settngs n order to provde more control n trcky 
lghtng condtons. Ths wll allow you to lghten or darken 
the exposure to your preference. 
1.

  Press the 
 button to enter the exposure settngs 
screen.
2.  Press the Up/Down button to adjust the exposure 
value of the mage, from the range between EV -2.0 to 
EV+2.0.

The face detecton mode detects people's faces and 
focuses on them resultng n clearer mages. Face detecton 
s engaged by default n most modes unless t s dsabled 
by the user. Face detecton s dsabled n Panorama Mode.
1. When the face detecton feature s enabled t wll 
dsplay a frame around detected faces n the camera's 
field of vew.
2.  Press the  Shutter halfway to focus on the subject.
3.

  Press the Shutter fully to capture the 
 mage.
4.  Press the Face Detecton button to close ths functon.

Smle Detecton
The  Smle  Detect on  feature  automat cally  detects  and 
captures a person's smle.
1.   I
n shoot ng mode, Press the Face Detect on button unt l 
the Icon  appears on the LCD screen
2.  Pont the camera at the subject, and press the Shutter 
button half way to focus.

.   Press the Shutter button all the way to capture the  mage, 
the camera w ll automat cally release the shutter when  t 
detects a sm le. 
4.   Press the Face Detect on button to close th s funct on. 
Blnk Detecton
Bl nk Detect on  s enabled by default unless d sabled by 
the user. When shoot ng,  f a face  s detected w th  ts eyes 
closed, the Bl nk Detect on 
 w ll appear on the screen to 
show that a bl nk was detected.

Advanced Functons Menu
The Advanced Functons Menu of the camera  nclude Image 
Sze, Image Qualty, Whte Balance, Image Color and ISO. 
These functons allow advanced users better control for 
shootng under dfficult lghtng condtons.
To set the Advanced Functons:
1.  Pull up the Advanced Functon Menus by pressng 
 
button.
2.  Press Down button to enter the advanced functon 
select
on screen, press Left/Rght button to select the 
functon that you want to set.
3.  Press Up button to enter the advanced funct
 on settng 
nterface. 
4.  Use the Left/Rght buttons to change the settngs and 
then press  to confirm the new settngs and close 
th
s Advanced Functon Menu.

WB (White Balance)
The Whte Balance allows you to adjust the color 
temperature for dfferent lghtng sources to ensure fathful 
color reproducton.
The optons for Whte Balance nclude: 
• 
 WB: Auto
• 
  WB: Daylght
• 
  WB: Cloudy
• 
  WB: Fluorescent
• 
  WB: Fluorescent CWF
• 
  WB: Incandescent
• 
  WB: Manual (Press the Shutter button to 
detect WB)
ISO
The ISO functon allows you to set the senstvty of the 
camera's sensor based on the brghtness of the scene. 
To mprove the camera's sensor performance n darker 
envronments, a hgher ISO value s requred. On the 
other hand, a lower ISO value s needed when n brght 
condtons. 
Pctures at hgher ISO wll naturally have more nose than 
those at lower ISO.
The camera's ISO settngs nclude automatc, 80, 100, 200, 
400, 800, 1600 and 3200.
The ava lable ISO values vary on dfferent camera 
models.
