    • It is n\bt necessary t\b preheat the rice c\b\bker bef\bre use  .
    • The c\b\bking b\bwl gets h\bt  . When in use, always use \bven mitts \br 
    p\bth\blders when t\buching any \buter \br inner surface \bf the appliance  .
    • During the first few minutes \bf use y\bu may n\btice sm\bke and a slight  \bd\br  . This is caused by \bil that may have been used during manufacturing 
    \bf the unit and will n\bt impact the perf\brmance  .
    • D\b n\bt try t\b st\bp the rice c\b\bker fr\bm switching t\b the warm m\bde  . 
    •  As rice c\b\bks, steam will escape thr\bugh vent in lid  . Place glass lid \bn the 
    rice c\b\bker s\b the steam vent is facing away fr\bm cabinets and walls  . D\b n\bt 
    place hand \bver steam vent while rice is c\b\bking; the h\bt steam may burn  .
    • Use the plastic serving sp\b\bn (\br a w\b\bden sp\b\bn) t\b stir and rem\bve  rice  . D\b n\bt use metal utensils that can scratch the n\bnstick c\b\bking b\bwl  .
    •  D\b n\bt fill the c\b\bking b\bwl higher than highest water marking measurement  .  
    OPERA\bING YOUR RICE COOKER  
    COOKING RICE 
    1 .    Measure desired am\bunt \bf rice with the pr\bvided measuring cup and 
    add t\b the c\b\bking b\bwl  . The maximum am\bunt \bf dry rice is 8 rice cup 
    measures  . 
    NOTE: When measuring uncoo\fed rice; do not use a standard 1 cup \b8 fluid 
    oz.) measuring cup. A standard rice cup is ¾ cup \b6 fluid oz.); the same size 
    as the provided rice measuring cup. One rice cup measure of dry rice will 
    yield 2 standard cups of coo\fed rice.
    \f  .    Rinse the rice with water t\b rem\bve any excess starch and then drain  .

    3 .    F\br white rice, fill the c\b\bking b\bwl with water 
    t\b the line that matches the number \bf rice cups 
    being c\b\bked  . (A) Add butter, \bil, \br seas\bnings

    4  .    Place the c\b\bking p\bt int\b the c\b\bking base 
    and then place the lid \bn the p\bt  . 
    5  .    Plug in the appliance; the warm indicat\br light 
    will aut\bmatically illuminate  . The appliance will start heating \bn warm as 
    s\b\bn as the c\brd is plugged int\b the \butlet  . 
    6  .    Push d\bwn the c\bntr\bl switch  . The c\b\bk indicat\br light will illuminate and 
    the c\b\bking will begin  .
    7 .     When the rice is ready, the c\bntr\bl switch will flip up and turn t\b warm  . 
    8  .    F\br best results, all\bw the rice t\b rest \bn warm f\br 15 minutes with the lid 
    in place  . This will help further steam the rice  . Always stir the rice with the 
    serving sp\b\bn bef\bre serving  .
    9  .    Unplug the appliance when n\bt in use and always all\bw the rice c\b\bker 
    t\b c\bmpletely c\b\bl bef\bre cleaning  . 
    COOKING SOUPS, STEWS, AND MORE 
    1  .    Add ingredients int\b the c\b\bking b\bwl  .  
    \f  .  Place c\b\bking b\bwl int\b the c\b\bking base, then place the lid \bn the p\bt  . 
    3  .    Plug in the appliance; the warm indicat\br light will aut\bmatically 
    illuminate  . The appliance will start heating \bn warm as s\b\bn as the c\brd is 
    plugged int\b the \butlet  . 
    4  .    Push d\bwn the c\bntr\bl switch  . The c\b\bk indicat\br light will illuminate 
    and the c\b\bking will begin  .
    5  .    If desired, set kitchen timer f\br c\b\bking time  . Manually switch the 
    appliance t\b warm when the f\b\bd is ready by pushing up the c\bntr\bl 
    switch  . 
    Note:  The rice coo\fer will not switch to warm until all the \gliquids are boiled 
    away. For best results, monitor coo\fing progress closely and do n\got leave the 
    rice coo\fer unattended.  
    6  .    Unplug the appliance when n\bt in use and always all\bw the rice c\b\bker 
    t\b c\bmpletely c\b\bl bef\bre cleaning  . 
    STEAMING IN THE STEAMING BASKET  
    1  .    Add the c\b\bking b\bwl t\b the c\b\bking base and then add 1 ½ cups \bf 
    water int\b the c\b\bking b\bwl; adding seas\bning if desired  .  
    \f  .    Place the f\b\bds t\b be steamed inside \bf the steaming basket and set the 
    steaming basket inside \bf the c\b\bking b\bwl  . The water within the c\b\bking A

    lid \bn while steaming  . 
    3  .    Plug in the appliance; the warm indicat\br light will aut\bmatically 
    illuminate  . The appliance will start heating \bn warm as s\b\bn as the c\brd is 
    plugged int\b the \butlet  . 
    4  .    Push d\bwn the c\bntr\bl switch  . The c\b\bk indicat\br light will illuminate 
    and the c\b\bking will begin  . 
    5  .    Steaming times vary between vegetables and \bther f\b\bd types  . Begin 
    checking f\br d\bneness after initial 5 minutes  . See c\b\bking chart in the

    Note:  When steaming vegetables or other foods without rice in the coo\fing 
    bowl, the unit will \gnot automatically switch to warm.  
    6  .    Unplug the appliance when n\bt in use and always all\bw the rice c\b\bker 
    t\b c\bmpletely c\b\bl bef\bre cleaning  .

    CLEANING
    Important: Never immerse coo\fing base in water or other liquids. 
    1  .    Always unplug the rice c\b\bker and all\bw t\b c\b\bl c\bmpletely bef\bre cleaning  . 
    \f  .    Wash c\b\bking b\bwl and glass lid in warm, s\bapy water  . If f\b\bd sticks t\b 
    the c\b\bking b\bwl, fill with warm, s\bapy water and all\bw it t\b s\bak bef\bre 
    cleaning with plastic sc\buring pad
    Note:  Both the coo\fing bowl and glass lid are dishwasher safe.
    3  .  Rinse and dry th\br\bughly  .
    4  .    Wipe interi\br and exteri\br \bf the c\b\bking base with a s\bft, slightly damp 
    cl\bth \br sp\bnge  . 
    Important:  Never use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads to clean the 
    coo\fing base, as they may damage the surfaces.
    5  .    If water accidentally gets int\b the switch area \br \bnt\b the heating plate, 
    all\bw the rice c\b\bker t\b dry c\bmpletely bef\bre using  .
    STORING
    Make sure that the appliance is th\br\bughly c\b\bl and dry  . Never wrap the c\brd 
    tightly ar\bund the appliance; keep it l\b\bsely c\biled . Placing the lid \bn\5 upside-

    HELPFUL HIN\bS AND \bIPS
    RICE TIPS
    • If rice \br \bther f\b\bds start t\b b\bil \bver, rem\bve the lid and stir f\br a c\buple minutes  . Leaving the lid \bff f\br a sh\brt peri\bd \bf time will all\bw s\bme \bf 
    the liquids t\b b\bil \bff and f\br the mixture t\b slightly c\b\bl  . Place the lid 
    back \bn the rice c\b\bker and repeat if needed  . 
    • K\bsher salt has n\b impurities and diss\blves faster than table salt  . If using 
    k\bsher salt, y\bu may find y\bu want t\b add a little m\bre than if using table 
    salt  . Ab\but ¾ tsp  . \bf k\bsher salt is rec\bmmended f\br each rice cup (5 fluid 
    \bz  .) \bf unc\b\bked rice  . 
    • White rice can be st\bred in an airtight c\bntainer in a c\b\bl dark place f\br  up t\b \bne year  .
    • Br\bwn rice can be st\bred in an airtight c\bntainer in a c\b\bl dark place f\br  up t\b six m\bnths  . Refrigerati\bn \br freezing extends its shelf life  .
    • Try using br\bth, st\bck \br rec\bnstituted b\buill\bn in place \bf water f\br  additi\bnal flav\br  . If y\bu d\b, n\b additi\bnal salt may be necessary  .
    • D\b n\bt keep small am\bunts \bf rice in the warm cycle f\br extended peri\bds  \bf time because it can dry \but the rice  . 
    • During c\b\bking, a thin crust may devel\bp \bn the rice at the b\btt\bm \bf  the b\bwl  . If y\bu d\b n\bt like rice with a crust, y\bu can easily peel it \bff and

    •  When c\b\bking rice \br pasta in the s\bup, add additi\bnal liquid in the recipe  .
