91 Presentation tools • When the Interactive Function is in use, it is recommended that you make use of input signals from the COMPUTER IN1, COMPUTER IN2, HDMI1/ MHL and HDMI2 ports. • Noise through the USB cable may trigger a malfunction depending on the computer and projector you are using. When this occurs, check to ensure that the power cables of the computer and projector are grounded. Malfunction may occur if the cables are not grounded. • The pen sensor may be blocked if the projector is placed directly on the floor. It is recommended the projector be mounted on the wall or ceiling. The Interactive Function does not work during rear projection. • Set the resolution to 1280 x 800 when connecting to a laptop computer . Otherwise, the Interactive Function may not operate properly. • Holding out the hand in front of the camera lens causes malfunction. • Don't make anything with magnetic force of a magnet approach in the camera unit. It'll be sometimes obstruction of the operation with the normal interactive function. NOTE Interactive Function (continued) ►Be careful of the wired cables. Tripping over the cables may result in injury or damage the projector or computer. CAUTION

92 Presentation tools Interactive Function (continued) The Interactive Function can be set in IWB CALIBRATE of the EASY MENU or IWB of the ADVANCED MENU. USER SETTING ItemDescription AUTO CALIBRATE Performs the initial setting of the Interactive Function automatically. • The following pattern image is displayed while executing AUTO CALIBRATE. The pattern image disappears when AUTO CALIBRATE is completed. • Try adjusting by MANUAL CALIBRATE if the position of pen does not coincide with the drawn line after executing AUTO CALIBRATE. (continued on next page) • Accuracy of AUTO CALIBRATE might decrease if you execute AUTO CALIBRATE just after turning on the projector. Wait more than 2 minutes after turning on the projector to execute AUTO CALIBRATE. • Stay away from the projector until AUTO CALIBRATE is completed. • AUTO CALIBRATE may fail when interfering light falls on the image of the projector. Be sure not to let the light fall directly on the screen. • AUTO CALIBRATE may fail depending on the installation environment. In this case, try adjusting by MANUAL CALIBRATE. • AUTO CALIBRATE may fail with the board or screen of dark color. NOTE

93 Presentation tools Interactive Function (continued) ItemDescription MANUAL CALIBRATE Using bundled pen performs the initial setting of the Interactive Function. Click on the center of the marker displayed in the image from the projector with a bundled pen. Every time you click with a bundled pen, the position of the marker changes. MANUAL CALIBRATE is completed when clicking 16 markers in total. • CALIBRATE is required again when installation situation of the projector is changed or display region of the image is changed by the functions such as D-ZOOM/D-SHIFT etc. NOTE (continued on next page)

FINGER TOUCH Select ON/OFF of FINGER TOUCH function using the ◄/► cursor button. Camera image is displayed on the menu. ・ This function is for the adjustment of FINGER TOUCH UNIT(Optional parts :FT-01B) . For more information, refer to the manual of FINGER TOUCH UNIT. MOUSE TYPE Select MOUSE TYPE using the ◄/► cursor button. MULTI ⇔ SINGLE ・ When selecting MULTI, whether multi touch is supported or not by connected computer is judged automatically. When using PC operation mode of Interactive tool ( 100), you can use multi touch if your computer supports multi touch. ・ When selecting SINGLE, you cannot use multi touch of PC operation mode. NOTE ・ Select SINGLE if mouse operating of PC operation mode does not work well with selecting MULTI. (continued on next page)

Select an item using the ▲/▼ cursor buttons. SCREEN TYPE Select SCREEN TYPE using the ◄/► cursor button. 16:10 ⇔ 4:3 ・ The area of screen is set according to the selected SCREEN TYPE(ratio of height and width). ・ The guide of setting area of screen is displayed. NOTE ・ When changing SCREEN TYPE, execute AUTO CALIBRATE ( 92) or MANUAL CALIBRATE (93). ・ After executing calibration, display calibration pattern and adjust according to SCREEN TYPE. ・ The position of pen is followed automatically if setting of resolution or aspect ( 46) of input signal is changed. So you don't have to execute calibration again. ・ When a part of image is displayed going beyond the set area, the function does not work even if touching the point in the area by pen. Select AUTO or MANUAL using the ▲ / ▼ cursor button. AUTO ⇔ MANUAL ・ When selecting AUTO, the area of mouse cursor with PC operation mode of Interactive tool (101) is adjusted automatically . ・ When selecting MANUAL, Adjust the area of mouse cursor with PC operation mode by manual operation. Adjusting the area of mouse cursor by manual operation ・ Select MANUAL and press the ▶ cursor button or ENTER button to move mouse cursor on the screen. ・C lick the position of mouse cursor by the pen at the upper left and then click at the lower right similarly. NOTE ・ Adjusting by manual operation is unavailable if there is no signal. ・ Try again if adjusting by manual operation is failed. ・ When selecting AUTO, if following trouble happens depending on computer, select MANUAL. Though the position of pen coincides with the drawn line with PJ internal Painter mode of Interactive tool, the position of pen does not coincide with the cursor of mouse operating with PC operation mode. NOTE ・ When selecting ON, IWB MODE ( 94) is not able to be set. ・ When selecting ON, Interactive tool ( 100) is unavailable. MEMORY ACCESS Select MEMORY ACCESS setting using the ▲ / ▼ cursor button. PROJECTOR ⇔ COMPUTER ・ Select PROJECTOR to display template data which stored inside memory of projector on thumbnail of USB TYPE A. ・ Select COMPUTER to operate internal memory of projector as USB memory by the computer connected to USB TYPE B port. 99 Presentation tools When selecting PC INTERACTIVE mode or PC LESS INTERACTIVE mode of the IWB MODE, you can use internal paint tool of the projector. Main Functions It offers effective features for making classroom and business presentations more fun and easier to understand. Drawing on projected images You can draw pictures or text on images projected by our projectors. Saving and displaying drawn images You can save images with pictures or text drawn on them to a USB memory device and then call out the saved images and display them again later. Using as a simple mouse The product can be used in place of the mouse of a computer connected to a projector. Interactive Function (continued) • The authorization by the copyright owner(s) is required pursuant to applicable laws for the use of works including visual images, if such works are copyrighted works. • Drawing with the Interactive Function is not possible with some image signals. NOTE • A USB memory device is necessary to utilize this function. • Copyright protected images cannot be saved. NOTE • To use this function, a USB cable is required to connect the computer and the projector. NOTE

PC operation mode: Shifts to PC operation mode. PJ internal Painter mode: Shifts to PJ internal Painter mode. PJ operation mode: Shifts to PJ operation mode. Deletes tool bar and exits Interactive Function. Minimizes tool bar display. Touch minimized icon to return the tool bar display. NOTE ・When selecting ON of MULTI DISPLAY ( 98), this tool is unavailable. ・Tool bar disappears automatically if there is no operation for several seconds. ・Multi touch with PC operation mode and PJ internal Painter mode supports to 6 pens.
