    							Exposure Preview
    To preview exposure in the LCD monitor, select [ON] for [SCREEN SET-UP]  > [PREVIEW
    EXP. IN MANUAL MODE] .
    Select [OFF] when using the flash or on other occasions on which exposure ma y
    change when the picture is taken.

    							The camera automatically optimizes settings to the scene.
    Scene Icon : The camera automatically selec ts the appropriate scene. The selection is shown by
    the following icons.
    [The   Icon] : In   mode, the camera continuous ly adjusts focus and searches for faces,
    increasing the drain on the batt ery; in addition, the sound of the camera focusing may be
    audible.   is displayed in the LCD monitor.

    							The mode selected may vary with shooting conditions. If the mode and subject do not
    match, select   mode or choose [SP]  and select a scene manually.
    Advanced Anti Blur
    When   is displayed, the camera will take a series of exposures  and combine them to form
    a single image, reducing “no ise” (mottling) and blur.
     is available when [ON] is selected in the shooting m enu and the flash is off or set
    to auto.
    Some time may be required to com bine the exposures into a single image. A single
    combined image may not be created if the subject or camera move s during shooting.
    Keep the camera steady during shooting and do not move the camera until shooting is
    complete.

    							Choose for crisp, clear snapshots. This mode is recommended in most situations.

    Take photos with filter effects.
    Select  [ADVANCED FILTER] in the shooting menu and choose from the following options:
    Choose for a retro toy camera effect.
    The tops and bottoms of pictures are blurred for a
    diorama effect.
    Create high-contrast image s with saturated colors.
    Create bright, low -contrast images.
    Create uniformly dark to nes with few areas of
    emphasized highlights.
    Dynamic tone expression is  used for a fantasy effect.
    Create a look that is evenly  soft throughout the whole
    image.
    Reds are recorded in color, while other colors are
    recorded in black and white.

    Depending on the subje ct and camera settings, images may in som e cases be grainy or

    							This mode combines “point-and-shoot” simplicity with sophisticated photographic techniques.
    The [Adv. MODE]  option in the shooting menu can  be used to choose from the following advanced
    modes:

    [MULTIPLE EXPOSURE]
    [ADVANCED MODE]

    							The camera takes up to three shots each time the shutter button is pressed, softening the
    background to emphasize the main subject. The amount of softeni ng can be adjusted before
    shooting by rotating  the main /sub-command dial. Use for portrai ts or photos of flowers similar to
    those produced by SLR cameras.
    Softening can not be applied to background objects that are too  close to the main subject.
    If a message stating that the ca mera can not create the effect is displayed when the
    camera focuses, try backing away  from your subject and zooming in. The camera may also
    be unable to soften the background if the subject is moving; if  prompted, check the results
    and try again.
    Frame coverage is reduced.
    [PRO FOCUS]
    To save unprocessed copies of pi ctures taken in these modes, select [ON]  for the  [SAVE
    DATA SET-UP]  > [SAVE ORG IMAGE]  option in the setup menu.

    							Each time the shutter button is pressed, the camera makes four exposures and combines them
    into a single photograph. Use to  reduce noise and blur when photographing poorly lit subjects or
    static subjects at  high zoom ratios.
    A single combined photograph may not be created with some scene s or if the subject or
    camera moves during shooting. Do  not move the camera until shooting is complete.
    [PRO LOW-LIGHT]
    To save unprocessed copies of pi ctures taken in these modes, select [ON]  for the  [SAVE
    DATA SET-UP]  > [SAVE ORG IMAGE]  option in the setup menu.

    							Create a photograph that combines two exposures.Take the first shot.
    1. 
    Press  [MENU/OK] . The first shot will b e shown superimposed o n the view through the lens
    as a guide to taking the second shot.
    To return to Step 1 and retake th e first shot, press the selector left. To save the first
    shot and exit without creating  a multiple exposure, press [DISP/BACK].
