    both screws are tight.

    COLLECTION BOXThe toner collection box or print

    collection box, or make sure the
    installed toner collection box is
    properly seated.
    17.7 REMOVE
    DRUM COVERThe protective cover shipped with
    the new print drum is still on the print
    drum.Remove the black protective print
    drum cover from the print drum as
    described in Chapter 6.
    17.8 REINSTALL
    DRUMThe print drum is not installed
    correctly or the print drum winding
    sensor is damaged.Remove and re-install the print
    drum. If the error persists, service is
    required.
    17.9 REINSTALL
    FUSERThe fuser has not warmed up
    properly.Remove and reinstall the fuser.
    18.1 CLEAN TRANS
    CORONA WIREThe transfer corona wire needs to
    be cleaned.Open the printer and clean the
    transfer corona wire as shown in
    Chapter 6.
    18.2 REINSTALL 
    DRUMThe print drum is not installed
    correctly or the print drum winding
    sensor is damaged.Remove and re-install the print
    drum. If the error persists, service is
    required.

    developer area.Open the top and side covers,
    remove and reinsert both
    developers, then close the covers.

    DEVELOPERSThe printer received an error in the
    developer area.Remove the developer unit and
    vigorously shake the unit from side
    to side.  Hold the unit flat so the
    developer mixture will not settle to
    one end of the unit.  Re-install the
    developer unit. Push the unit in
    firmly to make sure the connections
    seat properly.  If this does not fix the
    issue, the printer will need to be
    serviced.
    19.1 BLACK DEVEL 
    USER MAINTENANCEBlack developer needs to be
    replaced.Replace the black developer or click
    [On]Line] to continue printing.
    19.2 COLOR DEVEL

    the printer internal memory is printed.
    21 MEMORY
    OUTThe printer ran out of memory. Click [On Line] to clear memory and
    abort the current print job. If this
    error occurs frequently, add
    additional memory to the printer.
    21 MIO
    INITIALIZINGThe MIO card is in the process of
    initializing and cannot accept data.No action required.
    22 I/O CONFIG 
    ERRORThe computer is not obeying the
    pacing mechanism of the MIO link,
    causing the printer receiving buffer
    to overflow during a busy state.Click [On Line] to resume printing.
    This results in a loss of data.
    23 MIO 
    NOT READY The MIO card cannot accept data. For more information, run a self test
    page.
    24 BUSY MOVING 
    TONERThe printer is moving toner from the
    reservoirs to the developers.No action required.
    30 POSTSCRIPT
    ERROR XXThe printer encountered a
    PostScript error indicated by XX.Click [On Line] to continue. The
    current job will be canceled.

    ERROR 23An error occurred in virtual memory. The printer does not have enough
    memory to print this job. Reduce the
    number of fonts being downloaded
    to the printer or add memory to the
    printer.
    If you are using the scatter halftone
    option in your PostScript driver,
    changing to the cluster halftone
    option may solve this problem.
    30 POSTSCRIPT
    ERROR 24The systemdict quit operator was
    executed causing the PostScript
    interpreter to re-initialize virtual
    memory. All non-persistent
    information was lost.This is a warning message to let the
    user know that non-persistent
    information was lost including soft
    fonts and header files.
    30 POSTSCRIPT
    ERROR 25A PostScript firmware failure
    occurred.Service is required.

    ERROR 26A setpagedevice request cannot be
    satisfied.Make sure the paper size or type

    ERRORThe printer encountered an error

    48 INVALID JOB 
    ABORTING JOBThe printer received invalid
    language switching information.Send the printer valid language
    switching information.
    50.X ERROR CLEAR
    CYCLE POWERThe printer engine is clearing a fatal
    fuser error.Turn the printer OFF, then back ON.
    If the error persists, service is
    required.

    back on.  Make sure that the printer
    is not opened while it is warming up.

    SERVICE ERRORThe printer engine reported a
    NV RAM failure.Turn the printer OFF, then back ON.
    If the error persists, service is
    required.
    A blown internal fuse in either the
    Color or Black developer units.Try installing each developer unit
    individually to see when the error
    occurs.  Once found, place the
    defective unit in a plastic bag and
    return to your dealer for a
    replacement.  If a new developer
    unit does not solve the problem,
    service is required.
    53 LASER 
    ERRORThe printer engine reported a non
    laser/scanner error.Click [On Line] to continue printing. If
    the printer remains in the error
    condition, turn the printer OFF, then
    back ON. If the error persists,
    service is required.
