Hard Disk 140 Hard Disk If a hard disk is installed, fonts can be downloaded and saved, and the over- lay function can be used. Installing a Hard Disk Note It’s very important to protect the printer controller board and any associated circuit boards from electrostatic damage. Before performing this procedure, review the antistatic caution on Page 136. In addition, always handle circuit boards by the edges only. 1Turn off the printer and discon- nect the power cord and inter- face cables. Since there are two hooks on the right side of the panel, remove the rear panel by slightly pull - ing the left side of the panel toward you, then sliding the panel off to the left. 4Attach the mounting pin on the printer controller board. If you removed the duplex option in step1, reinstall it. 8Reconnect all interface cables. 9Reconnect the power cord, and turn on the printer. 10Declare the hard disk in the Windows printer driver (Properties/Configure tab, see Page 10).
