Taking Pictures with the Zoom
Applicable modes: 
You can zoom in to make people and objects appear closer or zoom out to record landscapes 
in wide angle.
Extended Optical Zoom works except when the maximum recordable pixels are set. This 
function allows you to take a picture with additional enlargement without deteriorating the 
image quality.

∫Control the zoom with the side lever
Using the side lever to control the zoom when taking pictures 
with the Viewfinder is useful fo r reducing shaking as the camera 
can be kept stable.
Using the side lever can also increase techniques used for 
taking pictures.

with the optical zoom.
•The lens barrel extends or retracts according to the zoom position. Take care not to interrupt the

The available flash settings depend on the Recording Mode.
