    Basic Operation

    Storing Caller List Information in the Directory
    You can store phone numbers that are in the Caller List into the directory. 
    Make sure the handset is not being used.
    1
    Press Öor Ñto enter the Caller List.

    Scroll to the caller you want to store in the
    directory by pressing 
    Öor Ñ.
    •If the number requires editing, press the soft
    key ( ) (p. 29).

    Press á.
    •To stop storing, press Ü.

    Press áagain.
    •A beep sounds.
    •To continue storing other items, repeat from 
    step 2.
    •To exit the programming mode, press 
    (SNOOZE/ALARM)or (OFF).
    If there is no name information for the
    caller, “Enter name” will be displayed.

    If a name is not required, press the soft
    key ( ). If a name is required, enter
    the name (p. 34). When finished, press
    the soft key ( ).

    •A beep sounds.
    •To continue storing other items, repeat from 
    step 2.

    •You can exit the programming mode any time by pressing (SNOOZE/ALARM)or

    •If the display shows“Directory Full” in step 4, press (SNOOZE/ALARM)or
    (OFF)to exit the list. To erase other stored items from the directory, see page 37.
    •You cannot store caller information in the directory if a phone number is not
    displayed.

    Erasing Caller List Information
    Make sure the handset is not being used.
    To erase a specific caller from the Caller List

    Press Öor Ñto enter the Caller List.

    Scroll to the caller you want to erase from
    the Caller List by pressing 
    Öor Ñ.

    Press the soft key ( ) or 
    (HOLD/CLEAR).
    •A beep sounds and “Clear” is displayed.
    •To erase other items, repeat from step 2.
    •To exit the Caller List, press (SNOOZE/ALARM)or (OFF).
    To erase all entries in the Caller List
    Before erasing all entries, make sure that “0 new call” is displayed.

    You can store up to 50 names and phone numbers in the directory. All of
    the directory items are sorted by the first word in alphabetical order. You
    can make a call by selecting a name on the display. You can also send the
    directory items from your handset to another unit and vice versa (p. 38).
    Storing Names and Numbers

    Sending the Directory
    You can send a directory item or all the items from your handset to
    another handset. KX-TG2740 users can also send items to the base unit.
    Entries copied to the destination unit are added to its directory. (Phone
    Directory Sharing)
    •If an external call is being received during the directory transfer, the transfer will be
    stopped. You will need to re-send the item(s).
    Make sure the base unit, your handset and the destination unit are not
    being used.
    To send one directory item to another handset
    1
    Press (SNOOZE/ALARM).
    •
    You can also press (CONF/FUNCTION)to directly
    enter the function menu and go to step 3.

    Making intercom calls

    •The paged unit will ring for 1 minute.
    •To stop paging, press (OFF).

    When the paged party answers, talk into the
    handset.
    •You can switch to the speaker by pressing  .
    You can place the handset on the charger and
    talk to the other party. 
    To switch back to the receiver, press  .

    To end the intercom, press  if using
    the speakerphone, or press

    Answering intercom calls
    When an intercom call is being received, the
    handset rings and the display shows the calling
    extension.
    Press , or 
    (HOLD)(INTERCOM).
    •You can also answer the call by pressing any dialing button (0)to (9), (*)or (#)
    (Any Key Talk).
    •If you set the Auto Talk feature to ON (p. 16), you can answer a call by lifting the
    handset off the charger.

    During an intercom call:
    •If you have difficulty hearing the other party when using the speakerphone,
    decrease the speaker volume by pressing Ö.
    •If an incoming call is being received, you will hear two tones (incoming call
    tone, p. 47). 
    – For KX-TG2700/KX-TG2730 users: To answer, press (OFF)and press 
    or  , or if you are using the speakerphone, press twice.
    – For KX-TG2720/KX-TG2740 users:
