    Exchanging data via “Memory Stick” media
    6Select [Handheld].
    7Tap [OK].
    The data selected in Step 4 are copied to [Handheld].
    To copy all the data at once
    Tap [Select] in Step 4 and select [Select All].
    To cancel the selection
    To cancel all the selections: tap [Select] and select [Clear All].
    To clear only specific items: tap the selected item once again.
    To change the directory to be copied
    Tap   or   to select the directory you want to copy. The displays of the 
    directory are changed. You can specify a directory to be copied.
    Moving data on “Memory Stick” media to your CLIÉ 
    handheld
    You can move the data from “Memory Stick” media to your CLIÉ handheld.
    1In Step 5 of “Copying data on “Memory Stick” media to your 
    CLIÉ handheld”, tap [Move].
    The selected data on “Memory Stick” media are transferred to your CLIÉ 
    handheld and saved.
    Note
    Some data copied from “Memory Stick” media to your CLIÉ handheld may not be 
    synchronized during the HotSync® operation.

    Deleting files/directories on “Memory Stick” media
    You can delete the files/directories from “Memory Stick” media with CLIE 
    Files.
    1Insert the “Memory Stick” media into your CLIÉ handheld.
    2Rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select   (CLIE Files) on 
    the CLIE Launcher and press the Jog Dial™ navigator.
    CLIE Files starts. 
    Tip
    You can also tap   (CLIE Files) to start CLIE Files.
    3Tap V at the top right of the CLIE Files screen to select [MS].
    All the files/directories on “Memory Stick” media are displayed.
    Tip
    You can also tap   (MS) to select.
    4Tap the file/directories you want to delete to change   to 
    .
    5Tap [Del].
    The Delete File dialog box is displayed.
    6Tap [OK].
    The files/directory selected in Step 4 are deleted from “Memory Stick” 
    media.

    Extracting a Zip file
    You can extract Zip files without using a computer.
    1Insert the “Memory Stick” media stores the Zip file into your 
    CLIÉ handheld.
    2Rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select   (CLIE Files) on 
    the CLIE Launcher and press the Jog Dial™ navigator.
    CLIE Files starts. 
    Tip
    You can also tap   (CLIE Files) to start CLIE Files.
    3Tap V at the top right of the CLIE Files screen to select [MS].
    All the files/directories on “Memory Stick” media are displayed.

    4Tap the Zip file you want to extract.
    The contents of the Zip file are displayed on the screen.
    5Tap the file you want to extract to change   to  .
    You can select multiple files by selecting the check boxes.
    6Tap [Unzip].
    The Directory list screen is displayed.
    7Tap a directory in which to save the extracted data.
    You can also save the data on your CLIÉ handheld.
    Note
    Some data cannot be saved on your CLIÉ handheld. In these cases, an error message 
    is displayed.
    8Tap [OK].
    The data is extracted to the directory selected in Step 7.
    : Files that were extracted normally.
    : Files that could not be extracted.
    : Files that were skipped during extraction.

    CLIE Files menu items
    The following describes the menu items that are specific to CLIE Files.
    For the menu items common to CLIÉ handheld applications, refer to “Common 
    menu items” on page 40.
    Menus from [Tool]
    [Format]Formats (initializes) “Memory Stick” media 
    inserted into your CLIÉ handheld. Note that 
    all data stored on “Memory Stick” media will 
    be erased when formatting the “Memory 
    Stick” media.
    [Media Info]Displays information, such as the amount of 
    memory or volume label, of your CLIÉ 
    handheld or “Memory Stick” media.
    [New Dir]Creates a directory within the current 
    directory on “Memory Stick” media. (Only 
    when “Memory Stick” media is selected).
    [Rename]Changes the name of current directory or file. 
    (Only when “Memory Stick” media is 
    selected).
    [About CLIE Files]Displays the version information of CLIE Files.

    Exchanging files/data without using CLIE Files
    You can exchange the data between “Memory Stick” media and your CLIÉ 
    handheld from the menu of the CLIE Launcher.
    However, problems may occur depending on the application. Note the 
    following.
     You can copy only applications to “Memory Stick” media. Related data 
    cannot be copied.
     Data stored on “Memory Stick” media (e.g., image files) cannot be displayed.
     Data marked with   cannot be copied.
    1Insert the “Memory Stick” media into your CLIÉ handheld.
    2Tap   (Menu) while the CLIE Launcher is displayed.
    The menu is displayed.
    3Tap [Copy...] from [CLIE Launcher].
    The Copy window is displayed.
    4Tap V next to [Copy To:], and select [Handheld] or [  Card]. 
    5Tap V next to [From:] to select [  Card] or [Handheld].
    6Tap the application you want to copy.
    7Tap [Copy].
    The selected application is copied to [Handheld] or [  Card].

    Notes on starting applications from “Memory Stick” media
    When an application is installed on “Memory Stick” media by the HotSync 
    operation, be careful of the following.
     Related files/data such as image files or movie files may not be opened 
    (played back). 
     When files/data saved on “Memory Stick” media cannot be opened in the 
    application, move the files/data to your CLIÉ handheld, or delete them by 
    using CLIE Files.
    Tip
    When PRC format (.prc) or PDB format (.pdb) files are installed on “Memory Stick” 
    media with the HotSync® operation, the files are stored in [/Palm/Launcher] directory.
