CHARGING SYSTEM 8-13 EAS27230 TROUBLESHOOTING The battery is not being charged. NOTE: Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s): 1. Seat 2. Front cowling inner panel 3. Fuel tankNG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ 1. Check the fuse. (Main) Refer to CHECKING THE FUSES on page 8-67. Replace the fuse. 2. Check the battery. Refer to CHECKING AND CHARGING THE BATTERY on page 8-68. Clean the battery terminals. Recharge or replace the battery. 3. Check the stator coil. Refer to CHECKING THE STATOR COIL on page 8-76. Replace the stator coil assembly. 4. Check the rectifier/regulator. Refer to CHECKING THE RECTI- FIER/REGULATOR on page 8-76. Replace the rectifier/regulator. 5. Check the entire charging system’s wiring. Refer to CIRCUIT DIAGRAM on page 8-11. Properly connect or repair the charg- ing system’s wiring. Replace the rectifier/regulator.

LIGHTING SYSTEM 8-17 EAS27260 TROUBLESHOOTING Any of the following fail to light: headlight, high beam indicator light, taillight, license light or meter light. NOTE: Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s): 1. Seat 2. Front cowling inner panel 3. Fuel tank 4. Side cover NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ NG→ OK ↓ 1. Check the each bulbs and bulb sockets condition. Refer to CHECKING THE BULBS AND BULB SOCKETS on page 8- 66. Replace the bulb(s) and bulb socket(s). 2. Check the fuses. (Main, headlight and tail) Refer to CHECKING THE FUSES on page 8-67. Replace the fuse(s). 3. Check the battery. Refer to CHECKING AND CHARGING THE BATTERY on page 8-68. Clean the battery terminals. Recharge or replace the battery. 4. Check the main switch. Refer to CHECKING THE SWITCHES on page 8-63. Replace the main switch. 5. Check the dimmer switch. Refer to CHECKING THE SWITCHES on page 8-63. The dimmer switch is faulty. Replace the left handlebar switch. 6. Check the headlight relay. Refer to CHECKING THE RELAYS on page 8-71. Replace the headlight relay.
LIGHTING SYSTEM 8-18 NG→ OK ↓ 7. Check the entire lighting system’s wiring. Refer to CIRCUIT DIAGRAM on page 8-15. Properly connect or repair the lighting system’s wiring. This circuit is OK.
