norma\f\fy use the [LEVEL] knob to adjust the vo\fume. For detai\fs about each function, see the “Con-

							Controls and Functions

Caution
The unit may heat up by as much as 15 to 2\f°C whi\be the power is on. This is norma\b. P\bease note that since the 
pane\b temperature may exceed 5\f°C in ambient temperatures higher than 3\f°C, you shou\bd exercise caution to 
prevent burns.

For turning the power of the unit to standby () and on (I). The [POWER] LED 
( on the top pane\b 
\bights when the switch is set to on (I).
NOTE • Rapid\by switching t\2he unit between on \2and standby in suc\2cession can cause \2it to ma\bfunction. \2After 
setting the unit t\2o standby, wait for about six\2 seconds before turning it on again.
 • Even when the switc\2h is in the standb\2y () position, e\bectric\2ity is sti\b\b flowing \2to the unit. If yo\2u do 
not p\ban to use the\2 unit for a whi\be, b\2e sure to unp\bug the AC \2power adaptor from the out\bet.

For connecting a m\2icrophone, instrument, \2or audio device (CD\2 p\bayer, etc.) to the unit\2. These jacks supp\2ort 
both XLR and phone\2 p\bugs.
2	[PA\f] switches
Turning the switch on (
O) wi\b\b attenuate the sound input to the unit. If you hear distortion or the 
[PEAK] LED  ) \bights, turn the switch on (
O).
NOTE Turn the [LEVEL] knob to "\f" (minimum) before togg\bing the [PAD] switch on (
O) and off (
N). 
Otherwise, noise may be produced.
3 [ HPF] (High-Pass Filter) switches
Turning the switch on (
O) wi\b\b app\by a high-pass fi\bter that attenuates frequencies be\bow 8\f Hz. 
When speaking into the microphone, you may want to turn this switch on ( O), in order to reduce 
unwanted vibration and wind sound received by the microphone.
4 [ GA\bN] knobs
Determines the basic vo\bume for each of the channe\bs 1 to 4. Adjust these so that the correspond-
ing [PEAK] LEDs 
) flash briefly when singing or p\baying the \boudest.
5 [ COMP] knobs
Adjusts the amount of compression app\bied to the channe\b. As the knob is turned to the right, the 
thresho\bd, the ratio, and the output \beve\b are adjusted at the same time.
Thresho\bd: +22 dBu to -8 dBu; Ratio: 1:1 to 4:1; Output \beve\b: \f dB to +7 dB;  
Attack time: approx. 25 msec; Re\bease time: approx. 3\f\f msec
6 [ PHANTOM +48V] switch/LE\f
When this switch is on (
O), the LED \bights indicating that the unit supp\bies DC+48 V phantom 
power to the XLR p\bugs of the [MIC/LINE] mono input jacks  1. Turn this switch on when using a 
phantom-powered condenser microphone.

Be sure to \beave this swi\2tch off ( N) if you do not ne\2ed phantom power. Fo\b\bow the important precautions be\bow, in 
order to prevent noise and po\2ssib\be damage to ex\2terna\b devices as we\b\b \2as the unit when yo\2u operate this swit\2ch.

7 E qualizer (EQ) knobs
Adjust the sound qua\bity by using the [HIGH] (high frequency band), [MID] (midd\be frequency 
band), and [LOW] (\bow frequency band) knobs. If you do not need to adjust the sound qua\bity, set 
the knob to the “
D” (flat) position.
8 [ FX] (effect) knobs

[FX]: Adjusts the vo\bume sent from each channe\b to the interna\b effect and the [FX SEND] jack.
[AUX]: Adjusts the vo\bume sent from each channe\b to the [AUX SEND] jack.
9 [PAN] knobs (channels 1 to 4)
[BAL] knobs (channels 5/6 and 7/8) 
[PAN/BAL] knobs (channels 9/10)
[PAN]: Adjusts the vo\bume ba\bance of each channe\b sent to 
the stereo bus, and determines the positioning of the sound image between \beft and right (stereo 
L /R). When the knob is \bocated at the 12 o’c\bock position, the channe\b’s sound wi\b\b be sent to the 
stereo bus channe\bs (L and R) at the same vo\bume. In this case, the sound image is positioned at 
the center.
[BAL]: Determines the vo\bume ba\bance of the stereo channe\bs (5/6 to 9/1\f) (L /R) sent to the stereo 
bus. When the knob is \bocated at the 12 o’c\bock position, the sound of the stereo channe\bs wi\b\b be 
sent to the stereo bus channe\bs (L and R) at the same vo\bume respective\by.
[PAN/BAL]: Provides both [PAN] and [BAL] functions. You can use this as a [PAN] contro\b when 
sound is input to the [LINE] (L /MONO) jack, and as a [BAL] contro\b when sound is input to both 
[LINE] (L) and [LINE] (R) jacks.

Se\bects one of the 24 interna\b effects from 1-24. Turn the knob to se\bect the desired effect program,

NOTE Turning the knob whi\be pressing it down a\bso a\b\bows you to simu\btaneous\by se\bect and set the ef-
fect program (without needing to press the knob fina\b\by to set it).
3 [ PARAMETER] knob
Adjusts the parameter (depth, speed, etc.) for the se\bected effect. The \bast va\bue used with each ef-
fect program is saved. For detai\bs about the parameter, see the “Effect programs” \bist on the reverse 
side.
NOTE When you change to a different effect program, the unit automatica\b\by restores the va\bue that was 
previous\by used with that program (regard\bess of the current position of the [PARAMETER] knob). 
Once you turn the [PARAMETER] knob, the va\bue of current knob position wi\b\b become va\bid.
4 E ffect program list
This is the \bist of the interna\b effect programs. For detai\bs about the programs, see the “Effect pro-
grams” \bist on the reverse side.
5 [FX ON] switch
When the switch is turned on (
O), the switch \bights indicating the interna\b effect is active. If you turn 
off the interna\b effect with the foot switch when the switch is on ( O), the LED of the switch flashes.
6 [ FX RTN LEVEL] knob
Adjusts the vo\bume of the interna\b effect sound.
7	[FOOT SW] jack
For connecting an optiona\b\by avai\bab\be un\batched type footswitch, such as the Yamaha FC5. When 
the [FX ON] switch 
5 is turned on (
O), the interna\b effects can be togg\bed on/off with the footswitch 
as needed with your foot. This jack supports a phone p\bug.
 n  Using the unit connected to a computer
Set the [LINE
N/USBO] switch of channe\bs 9/1\f to [USBO]. Depending on your 
particu\bar app\bication, you can specify the output destination and monitoring 
sound by se\becting the settings of the [TO MON N/ TO ST
O] switch

 Adjusting the playback volume from a computer (Attenuator)
1. Press the [PROGRAM] knob five times consecutive\by to disp\bay the attenua-
tion va\bue (dB). 2. Turn the [PROGRAM] knob to set it between -24 dB to \f dB 
(minus sign is not disp\bayed). 3. Press the [PROGRAM] knob again to exit the 
setting.  
When the attenuator is enab\bed, the dot \bights at the \bower right of the disp\bay.

For connecting a powered speaker or powered amp. These jacks support both XLR and phone 
p\bugs.

For connecting a set of headphones. This jack supports a stereo phone p\bug.

For connecting a monitor system for operators. These jacks support phone p\bugs.

Lights when the [/I] switch on the rear pane\b is set to on (pressed to the [I] position).
A L evel meter
The L and R meters show the \beve\b (vo\bume) of the signa\b output from the [STEREO OUT] jacks by 
seven steps; “PEAK” (+17), “+1\f”, “+6”, “\f”, “- 6”, “-1\f”, and “-2\f” dB. If the “PEAK” \bamp continu-
ous\by \bights in red, turn the [STEREO LEVEL] knob to the \beft to \bower the vo\bume.
B [STEREO MUTE] switch  
Turning the switch on (
O) wi\b\b mute the sound of stereo bus from the output of [MONITOR OUT] 
jacks or [PHONES] jack. In this state, when setting the [TO MON N/ TO ST
O] switch for channe\bs 
9/1\f to [TO MON N], you can hear the sound on\by from channe\bs 9/1\f. For detai\bs about the switch, 
see the “Rear pane\b USB section” be\bow.
C [ MON\bTOR/PHONES] knob
Adjusts the vo\bume output to the [MONITOR OUT] jacks and the [PHONES] jack.
D [STEREO LEVEL] knob
Adjusts the overa\b\b vo\bume output from the [STEREO OUT] jacks.
Rear panel  USB section 
G [ USB 2.0] terminal
For connecting to a computer via a commercia\b\by avai\bab\be USB 2.\f cab\be. (This 
product does not come with a cab\be.) The sound of the stereo bus is output to the 
computer. (The [STEREO LEVEL] knob 
D does not affect the sound.) For inputs 
and outputs to/from the computer, you may need a dedicated USB driver. Check
