    Measuring Requirements
    When testing the unit in the MANUAL or AUTO mode,
    the following Instruments and jigs are required:
    Instruments: Frequency Counter, Oscilloscope, Level
    Indicator (JIS-C curve), Distortion Meter
    (Flat), Oscillometer, Keyboard Amplifier,
    PLG100-VH, etc.
    Jigs: MIDI Cable, Proprietary Expansion Board, etc.
    A. Entering Test Mode
    Push
    Turn on power with the [REMOTE CONTROL ON/OFF]
    and [REC] buttons pressed and held. The following screen
    appears. Press [ENTER] button to enter the test mode.

    From this screen, press [STORE] button to display the
    “T30 FACTORY SET” screen. press [EXIT] button to
    display the “T31 EXIT” screen.
    B. Test Procedure
    As the test mode is entered, the following screen appears:

    Use [DEC/NO] button and/or [INC/YES] button to select a
    test number.
    Press [ENTER] button to start the test with the selected
    number.
    Press [EXIT] button to instruct “T31 EXIT”.
    C. Test Procedure for NG
    If any of the following tests has resulted in NG, perform the
    following operation to have the system wait for a test number
    before repeating the test or proceeding to another test:
    Press [EXIT] button to have the system wait for a test
    number.Note: Note that this method does not support the [EXIT] test
    of “T04 Panel Switch”.
    T01: RAM Battery Check
    Initial Screen:

    Description:
    Check to see whether the RAM backup battery voltage is
    OK (2.95 to 3.5 V) or NG.
    Procedure:
    Run the test.
    Check Item:

    Description:
    This test inverses the monochrome LCD roughly every 0.5
    sec., and flashes all the LEDs.
    Make sure the backlights of the LCDs stay on.
    Make sure the LCD contrast can be controlled by moving
    the contrast VR.
    Display of Test Conclusion:
    None.
    Ending Process:
    Press [EXTI] button to exit the test. The Initial Screen
    reappears, waiting for a test number.
    Others:

    T03: LED Check
    Initial Screen:

    Description:
    This test turns LED’s in sequence, roughly every 0.5 sec.
    Make sure the LED’s normally operate and glow consis-
    tently.
    Procedure:
    Turn all the LED’s on the unit in sequence following the
    instructions below to make sure they all light up:

    Make sure the panel switches operate normally.
    Procedure:
    Toggle all the switches on the unit ON and OFF following
    the instructions below:

    If a switch operates normal, a sine wave sounds while the
    switch is active and the test proceeds to the next test.
    If an unexpected code is sent, NG appears and no sine

    the next switch.
    If all the switches operate normal, OK appears on the
    LCD.
    The following table shows the switch check sequence:

    Move “After Touch” following the instructions appear on
    the LCD, toggling between 127 and 0, that is,
    Pressing and Releasing, smoothly.

    sounding check.
    If an unexpected code is sent, NG appears and no sound is
    generated.
    Then, if a normal code is received, the following keyboard
    test starts.
    If all the keyboards are found to be normal, OK appears on
    the LCD.

    from No-blow to Blow, smoothly.
    If a message, “Extract Plug!” appears, pull the jack out.

    the following order to make sure the level specified below
    is output from the Outputs L and R.

    the following order to make sure the level specified below
    is output from the Outputs L and R.

    Description:
    Make sure the Smart Media is protected.
    Checks the Format, Write, Read and Verify on the Smart
    Media.
    Make sure the Smart Media is removable.
    Procedure:
    First, insert a protected Smart Media into the slot and run
    the test.
    Then, insert a not-protected Smart Media into the slot and
    run the test.
    Run the test without a Smart Media inserted.
    Check Item:
    Check the result of LCD test. Make sure a WRPRT error
    occurs when a Smart Media is inserted. Then, make sure
    OK appears when a Smart Media is inserted.

    connected to a SCSI terminal.
    Sets the SCSI ID of the hard disk to 4.Procedure:
    Connect a hard disk to a SCSI terminal to run the test.

    Check the LCD for the test conclusion.
