    ThebaralongthebottomoftheHomescreenprovidesaccesstoyoursecuritysystem.Itallowsyouto
    viewthecurrentarmedordisarmedstatusanditdisplayswhensensorsaretriggered,forexample,whena
    dooropens,motionisdetected,orasensorhasalowbattery.Youcanviewthecurrentlyactivemode,and
    youcanchangethemode.
    ItalsoprovidesaccesstoModes,allowingyoutoviewthecurrentlyactivemodeandtochangethemode.
    Note:Dependingonyoursystem'sconfiguration,youmightnotseetheModesbutton.

    PowerModes
    SometouchscreensrequireACpower,andsomeareequippedwithabatterybackupthatallows
    operationtocontinueforashortperiodwhenpowerbecomesunavailable.Ifyourtouchscreenrequires
    ACpower,itisalwaysinACPowerConnectedmodewhenitispluggedin.
    Touchscreenswithbatterybackuphavefivepowermodes:
    Batteryactive
    Batterysleep
    Suspend
    ACpowerconnected
    Poweroff(certainmodelsonly)
    TheInformationscreendisplaysaniconnexttoTouchScreenBatterytoindicatethecurrentbatterylevel.

    BatteryActiveMode
    WhentheACpowercableisdisconnectedbutthebatteryischarged,thetouchscreenisinBatteryActive
    mode.(See"Information"onpage70fordetailsaboutbatterypowerindicators.yfAfter10minutesof
    inactivity,thetouchscreenentersBatterySleepmode.
    Note:Ontouchscreenswithbatteryback-uppower,whenthetouchscreenisunpluggedfromAC
    power,abatteryicondisplayshowmuchbatterypowerremains.Whenitgetslow,amessage
    appearstoinformyouofthecurrentbatterylevel.
    IfyouconnecttheACpowercablewhilethetouchscreenisinBatteryActivemode,itswitchestoAC
    PowerConnectedmode.
    BatterySleepMode
    InBatterySleepmode,thebacklightturnsofftoconservepower,butWi-Firemainson.Ifthebattery
    reachesaminimumlevel,thetouchscreenentersSuspendmode.
    Onanyarm/disarm/alarmeventorifyoutouchthescreenortheHomebutton,thetouchscreenswitches
    backtoBatteryActivemode.
    IfyouconnecttheACpowercablewhilethetouchscreenisinBatterySleepmode,itswitchestoAC
    PowerConnectedmode.
    SuspendMode
    Awarningmessageappearsonthetouchscreentoletyouknowwhenthebatterylevelbecomesverylow
    (15ybbatteryremainingyf.IfyouconnecttheACpowercablewhilethealertisvisible,thealertis
    automaticallydismissed,andthetouchscreenswitchestoACPowerConnectmode.Ifyoudonot
    connecttheAC powercablewithinabout15minutes(theremainingbatterylifeyf,thetouchscreenenters
    Suspendmode.

    InSuspendmode,thescreen,thebacklight,andWi-Fiareturnedofftoprolongthestateofthetouch
    screenaslongaspossible.IfyouconnecttheACpowercableduringSuspendmode,thetouchscreen
    switchestoACPowerConnectedmodeandstartschargingthebattery.
    ACPowerConnectMode
    WhentheACpowercableisconnected,thetouchscreenoperatesonACpowerandchargesthebattery.
    PowerOffMode
    Onsometouchscreens,whenyouholddowntheHomebuttonforafewseconds,amenuappears.You
    cantouchRestarttopowerthetouchscreenoffandthenon,orPowerOfftopoweroffthetouchscreen.

    AboutAccessCodes
    Toperformcertainactionsonthetouchscreen,suchasarmingordisarming,youmustenterasequence
    ofnumbersreferredtoasanaccesscode.Thiscodeisthesamecodeyouuseonothercomponentsof
    yoursecuritysystem,suchasthesecuritypanelkeypad.Ifdesired,auniqueaccesscodecanbecreatedfor
    eachpersonwhowillusethesecuritysystem,sothathistoryandalertswillindicatewhichaccesscode
    wasusedtoarmordisarmthesystem.
    Thesecuritysystemsupportsseveraldifferenttypesofaccesscodes.Eachtypeoffersaspecificlevelof
    accessandcapabilities.

    EnteringNumbersandLetters
    Ingeneral,thetouchscreenallowsyoutomakeyourselectionsbytouchinganiconorbuttononthe
    screen.Insomecases,however,youmustenternumbersorletters,sothetouchscreenprovidesa
    numerickeypadandanalphakeyboardwhereveritisneeded.

    Thenumerickeypadappearswheneveryouarerequiredtoenteranumericvalue,suchasyouraccess
    codeorazipcodeintheWeatherwidget.
    Asyoutoucheachkey,itappearsatthetopofthekeypad(exceptwhenyouenteranaccesscode,when
    eachnumberappearsasanasterisk(*yfforsecuritypurposesyf.Todeletethelastcharacterentered,touch
    DELETE,whichappearsafteryoustartenteringcharacters.Whenthenumberiscomplete,touchOK.

    AlphaKeyboard
    Thealphakeyboardappearsanytimeyoumustentertextandnumbersformoreadvancedtextinput,such
    aslocationnamesintheTrafficwidget.
    Asyoutoucheachcharacter,itappearsatthetopofthekeyboard.
    Toenteracapitalletter,touchCAPandthentheletter.
    Toenternumbersorsymbols,touch123.TouchABCtoreturntoenteringletters.
    Todeletethelastcharacterentered,touchDELETE,whichappearsafteryoustartenteringchar-
    acters.YoucantouchandholdDELETE todeletemultiplecharactersfaster.

    Thetouchscreenprovidesyouwithaccesstocertainfunctionsofyoursecuritysystem.Fromthebaratthe
    bottomoftheHomescreen,youcanviewthecurrentarmedordisarmedstatusandseewhensensorsare
    triggered,forexample,whenadooropens,motionisdetected,orasensorhasalowbattery.
    Thesystemiconappearsinthecenterofthebottombar.Itisagraphicalrepresentationofthecurrent
    securitysystemstateandanysensorinformationthatyoushouldknowabout.(See"SystemIcon"onpage

    providesadditionaldetails.
    Thesystemicon'scolorindicatesitsstate:
    Thesecuritysystemisdisarmed.
    Thesecuritysystemisarmed,eitherallsensorsordoorsandwindowsonly.
    Analarmstatethatrequiresimmediateattention.
    Thesecuritypanelorgatewayisoffline.
    Smallersymbolsappearonthegreenorredsystemiconswhenthereismoreinformationtoreport:
    Areddiamondindicatesasensorproblemoraproblemwiththesecuritysystem,suchasAC
    powerloss,lowbattery,nocellularconnection,nobroadbandconnection,panelcommunication
    trouble,orcertaintamperconditions.
    Ayellowcircleindicatesthatdoorsorwindowsareopen.Anumberappearsintheyellowcircleto
    indicatethenumberofopensensors.
    Sometimesbothareddiamondandayellowcircleappear,indicatingbothaproblemwithasen-
    sororsecuritypanelorboth,oranopendoororwindow.
    Waveformsaroundtheshieldindicatethatmotionisdetected.
    YoucantouchthesystemicontodisplaytheSensorsscreen.(See"Sensors"onpage14formore
