Ifyouhave24-hourprotectionsensorsoncertainspecialitems,suchasamedicinecabinetorawallsafe, thosesensorsremainarmed,evenwhentherestofthesystemisdisarmed.Whenyouconfigurethe systemthatway,disarmingthesystemdisarmseverythingexceptthosespecialitems.Toaccessthose specialitems,youmustsubdisarmthesystem.Subdisarmingdisarmsthe24-hourprotectionsensorsas wellasallothersensors. Note:Environmentalsensors,suchassmokeandfreezesensors,remainactiveatalltimes. Tosubdisarmthesystem(thatis,togainaccesstoyourspecialitemswithoutsettingoffanalarmyf,touch SubdisarmSecurityPanelontheSecurityscreen,andthenenterthemastercodetosubdisarmthe system. Note:Thesecuritysystemmustbedisarmedbeforeyoucansubdisarmit.Youcannotsubdisarm fromanarmedstate. Whenthesystemissubdisarmed,thetexttotheleftofthesystemicondisplays"Subdisarmed". Toreversethesubdisarm(thatis,tore-armthespecialitemsbutleavetherestofthesystemdisarmedyf, returntotheHomescreenandtouchDISARM.Noaccesscodeisrequiredtodisarmthesysteminthis situation.Thesecuritysystemreturnstothedisarmedstate.

TheARMbuttonallowsyoutoarmyourentiresystemwhenyouareleavingthehouseoronlyyourdoors andwindowswhenyouarestayinghome.WhenyoutouchARM,theArmOptionsappear. Dependingonwhichsecuritypanelyouhaveandwhichoptionsareenabled,oneormoreofthe followingoptionsmightappearonthisscreen: ArmAway Anytriggeredsecurity-relatedsensor(includinginteriormotiondetectorsandinteriordoorsyfresults inanalarmandnotifiestheappropriateauthority. Note:Ifyouselectthisoptiononthetouchscreenbutthesystemdoesnotdetectan entry/exitdoorbeingopenedandclosedafterwards,thesecuritypanelarmsonly doorsandwindows. ArmStay Onlyeventsassociatedwithyourexteriordoorsandwindowstriggeranalarm.Thismodeisuseful whensomeoneisathomebutwantsthesystemtobearmed.Thesystemignoresinteriorsensorsin thismode. Note:ThetouchscreendoesnotcurrentlyallowarmingtotheArmNightoption,whichis availableonsomesecuritypanels.However,ifyousetArmNightonthesecuritypanel keypad,thetouchscreenindicatesthatthesystemisintheArmedNightstate. EntryDelayorEntry/ExitDelay Note:Thisoptionisnotavailablewithallsecuritypanels. Ifthisoptionisavailableandturnedon,thesecuritysystemallowsaprescribedamountoftimefor youto: Entertheaccesscodeafteryouopentheentrydoor. Akeypadappearsanddisplaysthenumberofsecondsyouhaveremainingtoenterthe accesscodebeforethesecuritypanelsoundsanalarm. Open,walkout,andclosethedoorwhenexiting. Acount-downtimerappearsonthesystemicon,indicatinghowmuchtimeyouhaveleftto exitthepremises.Attheendofthattime,thesystemisarmed,andifanyoneopensadooror windowortriggersamotionsensor,thesecuritypanelsoundsanalarm. Ifthisoptionisavailableandturnedoff,thereisnodelay.Thealarmsoundsassoonasthe entry/exitdooropens. Note:Theonlytimeyoushouldturnofftheentrydelayiswhenyouarestayinginthehouse orusingabuttonremote,suchasakeyfob.

Theexitdelayistheamountoftimebetweenthetimeyousendthearmcommandtothesecurity panelandthetimetheentry/exitdoorisactuallyarmed—thatis,theamountoftimeyouareallowed toexitthepremisesthroughtheentry/exitdoorwithoutsettingoffanalarm. Ifthisoptionisoff,thesecuritysystemchimesafteryousendthearmcommanduntiltheexitdelay periodiscomplete.Ifthisoptionison,thesecuritypaneldoesnotchimeduringtheexitdelay. Note:Turningthisoptiononisusefulwhenyouwanttoleavethehouseandarmthesecurity system,butyoudonotwanttowakepeoplewhoaresleepinginthehouse. ExceptforSilentExit,thesesettingsremainineffectuntilyouexplicitlychangethem. Whenthesystemisarmed,thesystemiconchangestored,andtheARMbuttonchangestoDISARM. ADTPulseS MInteractiveSolutionsTouchScreenUserGuide Page20 QuickExit Whenyoursecuritysystemisarmed,youcanusethequickexitmethodtoquicklyopenandclosean entry/exitdoorwithoutfullydisarmingthesystem.Thequickexitmethodtemporarilydisarmsthe entry/exitdoorsandautomaticallyarmsthemagainafterabriefperiodoftime(generally,120seconds, dependingonyoursystemconfigurationyf.Youmightfinditconvenienttousethismethodwhenyou wanttotakeinyourmailornewspaperorletsomeoneinbutdonotwanttodisarmthesystemfullyand thenhavetore-armitamomentlater. Tousethequickexitmethod,touchDisarmbutdonotenterthesecuritycodewhenthenumerickeypad appears. Thesystemdisarmsentry/exitdoorsanddisplaysthenumerickeypadinanticipationofreceivingthecode. Atthispoint,youcansafelyopenadoororwindowonceandcloseitagainwithoutenteringthecode. Whenthedoororwindowclosesandyoudonotenterthecodeaftertheconfiguredperiodoftime,the securitysystemreturnstothepreviousarmedstate,andthenumerickeypaddisappears.
ADTPulseS MInteractiveSolutionsTouchScreenUserGuide Page21 TroubleArming Ifyouattempttoarmthesystemwhenasensorisinafaultedstate(suchaswhenadoororwindowis openyf,theTroubleArmingwarningappears. Thiswarningdisplaysalistofproblems(troublelistyfthatpreventthearmingoperationfromcompleting.If youcorrectalloftheproblemsonthetroublelist(suchasclosingthefrontwindow,intheexample aboveyf,thiswarningdisappears,andthearmingactioniscompletedautomatically.Ifyouwanttobypass theproblemandarmthesystemanyway,touchARM ANYWAY. Ingeneral,youcanbypasssensorsonlywhentheyareactive—thatis,capableofgeneratinganalarm.For 24-hoursensors,thisisallthetime.Forexteriordoorsandwindows,thisiswhenthesystemisarmed.For interiordoorsandinteriormotionsensors,thisisonlywhenthesystemisarmedtoArmAway. WhenyouselectArmAnyway,youautomaticallybypassallofthesensorsinthetroublelist.Thisis consideredanindirectbypass. CAUTION:Whenyoubypasstheproblemandarmthesystemwithoneormoresensorsopen,those sensorsaretemporarilyignored.Usingtheexampleabove,ifyoutouchArmAnyway,anyone canopenorclosethefrontwindowwhilethesystemisarmedwithoutsettingoffanalarmof anykind.Beverycautiousifyoueverdecidetousethisfeature,becauseitessentiallydefeats thepurposeofyoursecuritysystem. Ifyoudonothingwhenthisscreenappears,afterfourminutes,thetouchscreenarmsthe systemanyway.Inotherwords,disregardingthismessageanddoingnothingisthesameas touchingArmAnyway. Note:Lowbatteryproblemsappearinthetroublelist,butthesystemdoesnotactuallybypassthese problems.Asensorwithalowbatterycanstilltriggeranalarm.

TouchEmergencyontheHomescreentodisplaytheindividualemergencybuttons. Thesebuttonsreplicatethepanicbuttonsonthesecuritypanel. Note:Dependingonhowyoursecuritypanelkeypadpanicbuttonsareprogrammed,thescreen mightlookdifferentfromthisexample.Oneormoreofthesebuttonsmightnotappear.In fact,ifnoneoftheemergencybuttonsareprogrammedonyoursecuritypanel,the Emergencybuttondoesnotappearonthetouchscreenatall. Note:Modesisonlyavailablefornon-cellular-basedsystems. UsingModesyoucansetupcustommodesfortheultimateamountofcontrol.Forexample,when leavingonvacationsimplyselecttheOnVacationmode,afteryouarmyoursystem,andthefollowing actionscanoccurautomatically: Changethethermostatscheduletoanenergy-efficientschedule Turnoffalllightsandlockalldoors Enableaschedulethatrandomlyturnsoncertainlightsbetween7pmand10pm Capturevideoclipsfromallcamerasifmotionisdetected Sendanalertwhenthesystemisdisarmed(toensurethatyourpetsitteriscaringforthefamily pet) Uponreturninghome,youdisarmthesystemandchangethemodetoAtHome.Yoursystemrevertsback tothepre-definedsettingsandschedulesassociatedwiththeselectedmode.Alternatively,youcanuse themobileapplicationtochangethemodeonyourwaybackfromtheairport,togetyourhomereadyfor yourarrival,withoutcompromisingyourhome'ssecurity.
