    Customizing Functions and Onscreen Displays
    Customize the camcorder to match your shooting style and needs. Use the [wOther Functions] > [Custom 
    Function] setting to adjust how some of the camcorder’s controls and functions operate in   mode. 
    Similarly, use the [£OLED/VF Setup] > [Custom Display 1] or [Custom Display 2] setting to customize the 
    onscreen displays that appear during recording. You can save these preferences along with other menu settings 
    to an SD card and use them again later (A123).
    Customizing Functions
    The following table describes which functions can be customized using 
    [Custom Function]. 
    1 Open the [Custom Function] submenu.

    2 Select the desired function.
    3 Change the setting option and then press the joystick.

    [Shockless WB]When this function is set to [On], it creates a softer transition when the white balance is changed.
    [AE Response]
    Controls the camcorder’s response ([Fast], [Normal] or [Slow]) when you change the automatic exposure setting. 
    Not available with the following lenses.
     • CN7x17 KAS S/E1
     • CN20x50 IAS H/E1
    [Grip Ctrl Dial Dir.]Changes the direction of the adjustment ([Normal] or [Reverse]) when operating the control dial.
    [Retract Lens]
    When one of the following lenses is attached to the camcorder and the focus mode switch is set to AF, the lens will fully 
    retract when the camcorder is turned off.
     • EF40mm f/2.8 STM
     • EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM
     • EF50mm f/1.8 STM
    [Focus Assistance 
    B&W]Automatically switches the screen to B&W while the focus assist functions (peaking and magnification) are activated. You 
    can have the screen switch to B&W only when peaking is activated ([Peaking]), only when the magnification is activated 
    ([Magnify]) or when either function is activated ([Both]).
    [Magn. Add. Disp.]Simultaneously activates peaking ([Peaking]) or displays the edge monitor ([Edge Monitor]) whenever the magnification 
    function is used.
    [Scan Reverse Rec]Inverts the recorded image horizontally ([Horizontal]), vertically ([Vertical]) or both ([Both]).
    [C START/STOP]Selects whether the START/STOP button will be active or locked too when the Q switch is set to C (key lock)

    For details on which onscreen displays can be customized, refer to 
    Onscreen Displays (A50).
    1 Open the [Custom Display 1] or [Custom Display 2] submenu.

    2 Select the desired onscreen display.
    3 Change the setting option and then press the joystick.

    Saving and Loading Camera Settings
    After you adjust custom picture settings and settings in the various menus, you can save those settings on an 
    SD card. You can load those settings at a later date or on another C100 Mark II camcorder so that you can use 
    that camcorder in that same exact way.
    Saving Camera Settings to an SD Card
    1 Open the [Save To8] submenu.
    [wOther Functions] > [Transfer Menu//] > [Save To8]
    2 Select [8A] or [8B] and then press the joystick.
    3 Select [Menu] or [Menu+/] and then press the joystick.
    • Selecting [Menu] will save menu settings and [Menu+/] will save 
    menu and custom picture settings.
    4 Select [OK] and then press the joystick.
    • The current settings are saved to the SD card. If the SD card already has camera settings on it, they will be 
    overwritten.
    5 When the confirmation screen appears, press the joystick.
    Loading Camera Settings from an SD Card
    1 Open the [Load From8] submenu.
    [wOther Functions] > [Transfer Menu//] > [Load From8]
    2 Select [8A] or [8B] and then press the joystick.
    3 Select [Menu] or [Menu+/] and then press the joystick.
    • Selecting [Menu] will load menu settings and [Menu+/] will load 
    menu and custom picture settings.
    4 Select [OK] and then press the joystick.
    5 When the confirmation screen appears, press the joystick.
    NOTES
    • When loading camera settings from an SD card, even protected custom picture files in the camcorder will be 
    replaced.
    • Only camera settings from other Canon C100 Mark II camcorders can be used with this camcorder.
    • The following settings are not saved on the SD card.
    - Encryption keys/passwords under [wOther Functions] > [Network Settings] > [Connection Settings]
    -[wOther Functions] > [Network Settings] > [FTP Server Settings] > [Password] Operating modes:

    Playback
    This section explains how to play back clips recorded on an SD card. For details on playing back clips using an 
    external monitor, refer to Connecting to an External Monitor (A137). For details on viewing photos, refer to 
    Viewing Photos (A164).
    AVCHD and MP4 Index Screens
    Playback functions are accessed from the index screen. To 
    open the [AVCHD] or [MP4] index screen (for AVCHD or 
    MP4 clips, respectively), set the camcorder to   
    mode. The index screen that appears will correspond to 
    the currently selected movie format.
    Set the Q switch to MEDIA.
    • The camcorder switches to   mode and the clip 
    index screen appears.
    *  The audio recording mode is only displayed for AVCHD clips recorded using the [28 Mbps LPCM] and [24 Mbps LPCM] bit rates.
    ** For MP4 clips recorded using slow & fast motion recording mode, the shooting frame rate and playback frame rate will both be 
    displayed.

    Switching Between the SD Card Slots
    If both SD card slots contain an SD card, you can switch between 
    them as necessary.
    Press the SLOT SELECT button.
    • The access indicator of the selected SD card slot will illuminate in 
    green.
    Switching to Other Index Screens
    To view other recordings on the currently selected SD card, you can switch to any index screen from the 
    [AVCHD] index screen*. Open the [AVCHD] index screen to view AVCHD clips, the [Shot List] index screen to 
    view shots recorded during continuous recording, the [MP4] index screen to view MP4 clips and the [Photos] 
    index screen to view photos.
    * When any other index screen is displayed, you can switch only to the [AVCHD] index screen.
    1 Press the INDEX button.
    • The index screen selection menu appears.
    2 Select the desired index screen and then press the joystick.
    • The selected index screen appears.
    • Select [Cancel] instead to cancel the operation.
    • Press the INDEX button again to return to the [AVCHD] index screen.
    NOTES
    • If you set the camcorder to   mode during continuous recording mode, the [Shot List] index screen will 
    open automatically.
    • Clips recorded at a system frequency other than the one currently used by the camcorder, cannot be played 
    back. To play back such clips, change the camcorder's system frequency (A54) to match the recordings on 
    the SD card. Operating modes:

    Playing Back Clips
    After you select a clip to play back from the index screen, you can control 
    the playback with the controls on the camcorder or with the joystick and 
    onscreen joystick guide.
    1 Move the orange selection frame to the clip you want to play back.
    2 Press the
     Ò button to start playback.
    • Playback will start from the clip selected and continue until the end of 
    the last clip in the index screen. When the last frame of the last clip is 
    reached, playback will be paused.
    • Press the Ò button again or press the joystick to pause/resume 
    the playback.
    • Press the Ñ button to stop the playback and return to the index 
    screen.
    IMPORTANT
    • Observe the following precautions while either of the SD card access indicators is illuminated in red. Failure to 
    do so may result in permanent data loss.
    - Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.
    - Do not open the SD card compartment cover and do not remove the SD cards.
    NOTES
    • You may notice brief stops in video or audio playback between clips.

    Playback Controls
    When you play back a clip, operate the buttons on the camcorder’s body or 
    use the joystick and joystick guide to use fast playback, play back frame-
    by-frame or skip clips. Refer to the following table.
    Available playback types
    NOTES
    • There is no audio during any of the playback types listed in the previous table.
    • During some playback modes, you may notice some anomalies (blocky video artifacts, banding, etc.) in the 
    playback picture.
    • The speed indicated on the screen is approximate.
    • During frame reverse, the interval between frames is 0.5 seconds, which is longer than the interval during 
    frame advance.
    • You can press the DISP. button to turn the joystick guide display on and off.
    Adjusting the Volume
    During playback, audio will come from the monaural built-in speaker or 
    headphones. When you connect headphones to the × (headphone) 
    terminal, the built-in speaker will be muted.
    1 Open the [Headphone Volume] or [Speaker Volume] submenu.

    [Speaker Volume]
    2 Select the desired level and then press the joystick.
    • Select [Off] to mute the audio.

    Buttons: Press the Ø or × button.
    Joystick: During playback, push the joystick up or down.
    Repeat to increase the playback speed to approximately 5x J 
    15x J 60x the normal speed.
    Frame advance/reverseJoystick: During playback pause, push the joystick up or down.
    Skip to the beginning of 
    the next clipButtons: Press the Ù button.
    Joystick: Push the joystick right.
    Skip to the beginning of

    • For details on changing the audio channel, refer to Selecting the 
    Audio Channel (A141).
    • If you set an assignable button to [Headphone +], [Headphone -], 
    [Speaker +] or [Speaker -] (A107), you can press the button to 
    adjust the headphone volume or built-in speaker volume without 
    using the menu.
