    Connecting to an External Monitor
When you connect the camcorder to an external monitor for recording or playback, use the terminal on the
camcorder that matches the one you wish to use on the monitor. Then, select the video signal output
configuration (A135). Video will be output from the HDMI OUT and AV OUT terminals simultaneously.
    Connection Diagram
We recommend that you power the camcorder from a power outlet using the AC adapter.
    Using the HDMI OUT Terminal
The HDMITM OUT terminal offers a digital connection and outputs both a
video and audio signal. The output signal will automatically switch to HD
or SD depending on the capability of the external monitor. Audio will be
output as a 2ch linear PCM (16 bits, 48 kHz) signal.

    terminal.
1 Open the LUT [Setting] submenu.
    [¢ Video Setup] > [HDMI] > [LUT] > [Setting]

    NOTES
    • If necessary, you can superimpose the onscreen displays on the video displayed on the external monitor
    (A139).
    • You can select the SD output method (A139).
    • The HDMI OUT terminal on the camcorder is for output only. Do not connect it to an HDMI output terminal on
an external device, as this may damage the camcorder.
    • Correct operation cannot be guaranteed when connecting the camcorder to DVI monitors.
    • Video may not be output correctly depending on the monitor. In such case, use the AV OUT terminal.
    Using the AV OUT Terminal
The AV OUT terminal outputs a down-converted analog video signal and audio signal for connection to monitors
    with a composite audio/video input.
    NOTES
    • When you play back a clip on a monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio, the monitor will switch automatically to
widescreen mode if it is compatible with the Video ID-1 or WSS system.
    • If necessary, you can superimpose the onscreen displays on the video displayed on the external monitor
    (A139).
[Normal]: Video will not be output at 1920x1080 with a frame rate of 59.94P or 50.00P (depending on
