    Section 6 - Settin\b Up Wi-Fi Protection (WCN 2.0 in Windows Vista)
    Se\f\fing Up Wi-Fi Pro\fec\fion
    (WCN 2.0 in Windows Vis\fa)
The DIR-605L supports Wi-Fi protection, referred to as WCN 2.0 in Windows Vista. The instructions for settin\b this up depend
on whether you are usin\b Windows Vista to confi\bure the Router or third party software.
    Ini\fial Rou\fer Configura\fion for Wi-Fi Pro\fec\fion
When you first set up the Router, Wi-Fi protection is disab\fed and unconfi\bured. To enjoy the benefits of Wi-Fi protection, the
Router must be both enab\fed and confi\bured. There are three basic methods to accomp\fish this: use Windows Vista’s bui\ft-in
support for WCN 2.0, use software provided by a third party, or use the traditiona\f Ethernet approach.
If you are runnin\b Windows Vista, tick the Enab\fe checkbox on the Wireless Ne\fwor\b window. Use the Current PIN that is
disp\fayed on the Wireless Ne\fwor\b window or choose to c\fick the Genera\fe New PIN button or Rese\f PIN \fo Defaul\f button.
If you are usin\b third party software to set up Wi-Fi Protection, carefu\f\fy fo\f\fow the directions. When you are finished, proceed
to the next section to set up the new\fy-confi\bured Router.

    Section 6 - Settin\b Up Wi-Fi Protection (WCN 2.0 in Windows Vista)
    Se\f\fing Up a Configured Rou\fer
Once the Router has been confi\bured, you can use the push button on the Router or third party software to invite a newcomer
to join your Wi-Fi protected network. For maximum security, the software method is recommended. However, the push button
method is idea\f if t\uhere is no access to a GUI.
If you are usin\b the Router’s Wi-Fi Security push button option, simu\ftaneous\fy depress the push button \focated on the side of
the Router and the button on the c\fient (or virtua\f button on the c\fient’s GUI). Next c\fick Finish. The C\fient’s software wi\f\f then
a\f\fow a newcomer to join your secure, Wi-Fi protected network.
If you are usin\b third party software, run the appropriate Wi-Fi Protected System uti\fity. You wi\f\f be asked to either use the push
button method or to manua\f\fy enter the PIN. Fo\f\fow the on-screen instructions.
