    WPA/WPA2
    It is recommended to enab\fe wire\fess security (WPA/WPA2) on your wire\fess router or access point before confi\burin\b your 
    wire\fess adapter. If you are joinin\b an existin\b network, you wi\f\f need to know the security key (Wi-Fi password) bein\b used.
    To join an existin\b network, \focate the wire\fess network icon in the taskbar, next to the 
    time disp\fay.

    C\fickin\b on this icon wi\f\f disp\fay a \fist of wire\fess networks which are within connectin\b 
    proximity of your computer. Se\fect the desired network by c\fickin\b on the network name.

    You  wi\f\f  then  be  prompted  to  enter  the  network  security  key  (Wi-Fi  password)  for 
    the wire\fess network. Enter the password into the box and c\fick Next. 
    If you wish to use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) to connect to the router, you can a\fso 
    press the WPS button on your router at the point to enab\fe the WPS function. 
    When  you  have  estab\fished  a  successfu\f  connection  a  wire\fess  network,  the  word 
    Connected.wi\f\f appear next to the name of the ne\utwork to which you are connected.

    1.  C\fick on the wire\fess icon in your system tray (\fower-ri\bht corner).
    2. The uti\fity wi\f\f disp\fay any avai\fab\fe wire\fess networks in your area.

    3.  Hi\bh\fi\bht the wire\fess connection with Wi-Fi name (SSID) you wou\fd 
    \fike to connect to and c\fick the Connect button.
      If you \bet a \bood si\bna\f but cannot access the Internet, check your 
    TCP/IP settin\bs for your wire\fess adapter. Refer to the Networkin\b 
    Basics section in this manua\f f\uor more information.
    4. The  fo\f\fowin\b  window  appears  whi\fe  your  computer  tries  to

    5.  Enter the same security key or passphrase (Wi-Fi password) that is 
    on your router and c\fick  Connect. You can a\fso connect by pushin\b 
    the WPS button on the router.
    It may take 20-30 seconds to connect to the wire\fess network. If the 
    connection fai\fs, p\fease verify that the security settin\bs are correct. The 
    key or passphrase must be exact\fy the same as on the wire\fess router.

    WPS
    The WPS  feature  of  the  DIR-810L  can  be  confi\bured  usin\b Windows®  7.  Carry  out  the  fo\f\fowin\b  steps  to  use Windows®  7  to 
    confi\bure the WPS feature:
    1.  C\fick the Start button and se\fect Computer from the Start menu.
    2.  C\fick Network on the \feft side.

    3.  Doub\fe-c\fick the DIR-810L.
    4.  Input the WPS PIN number (disp\fayed in the WPS window on the 
    Router’s LCD screen or in the  Setup.> Wireless. Setup menu in the 
    Router’s Web UI) and c\fick Next.

    5.  Type a name to identify the network.
    6.  To confi\bure advanced settin\bs, c\fick the         \uicon.

    7.  The  fo\f\fowin\b  window  appears  whi\fe  the  Router  is  bein\b 
    confi\bured.
     
      Wait for the confi\buration to comp\fete.
    8.  The  fo\f\fowin\b  window  informs  you  that WPS  on  the  router  has 
    been setup successfu\f\fy.
      Make a note of the security key as you may need to provide this 
    security key if addin\b an o\fder wire\fess device to the network in 
    the future.
    9.  C\fick Close to comp\fete WPS setup.

    Section 5 - Connectin\b to a Wire\fess Network
    Windows \bista®
    Windows Vista  users  may  use  the  bui\ft-in  wire\fess  uti\fity.  If  you  are  usin\b  another  company’s  uti\fity,  p\fease  refer  to  the  user 
    manua\f of your wire\fess adapter for he\fp with connectin\b to a wire\fess network. Most uti\fities wi\f\f have a “site survey” option 
    simi\far to the Windows Vista® uti\fity as seen be\fow.
    Ri\bht-c\fick on the wire\fess computer icon in your system tray (\fower-ri\bht 
    corner next to the time). Se\fect Connect to a network.
    If  you  receive  the  Wireless  Networks  Detected   bubb\fe,  c\fick  on  the 
    center of the bubb\fe to access the uti\fity.
