2 English Setup and Operation Setting up your Logitech ® Z-540 speakers Referring to the diagram on the previous page, do the following: • Insert the colored plugs from each satellite speaker into the corresponding colored jacks on the back of the subwoofer. Connect the DIN plug from the right front speaker to the subwoofer as shown, being careful to align the pins before inserting the plug. • 4-channel sound card: connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the front jack and the black plug into the rear jack into your sound card. • 2-channel sound card: connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the “line out” jack on your sound card. Enable M3D ™ for the best sound. • Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Enjoying your Logitech ® Z-540 speakers Power To turn on/off system power, press the Power button on the right front speaker. System Volume With the computer running and an audio source active, adjust the system volume using the knob on the right front speaker. Subwoofer Volume With the computer running and an audio source active, adjust the subwoofer volume on the back of the subwoofer. M3D ™ M3D ™ gives very realistic surround sound to material recorded in stereo – such as CDs, MP3s and older games. To enable, press the M3D™ button on the right front speaker. If your speakers are connected to a 2-channel sound card, we recommend that you use M3D™ at all times. If you’re using a 4-channel card, you can experiment with M3D™ to find the sound you prefer. Fader To balance the output between the front and rear speakers, turn the fader knob on the right front speaker.
English 3 Important Safety Information CAUTION Risk of electric shock! Do not open speakers or immerse them in liquid! Water and moisture. Do not use the speakers near water, and do not immerse them in any liquid or pour any liquid on them. Heat. Place the speakers away from all heat sources. Ventilation. Do not block the openings in the speaker cabinets, never push objects into speaker vents or slots because of fire or electric shock hazards, and provide sufficient space around the speakers for proper ventilation. Location. Place the speakers in a stable location so they will not fall causing damage to the speakers or bodily harm. Connections. Operate the speakers only from the audio line out jack of the computer or of an audio device. Cleaning. Unplug the speakers from the computer and from the electrical outlet before cleaning them with a damp cloth. Lightning. For added protection during lightning storms, unplug the speakers from the electrical outlet and turn off the computer. Servicing. Do not attempt to service the speakers yourself by opening the speaker cabinets, which may expose you to dangerous voltage or shock hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Limited Warranty Logitech warrants that any hardware product accompanying this documentation shall be free from significant defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. Logitech’s limited warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the original purchaser. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary under local laws. Remedies. Logitech’s entire liability and your exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be, at Logitech’s option, to: (a) repair or replace the hardware, provided that the hardware is returned to the point of purchase or such other place as Logitech may direct, with a copy of the sales receipt, or (b) refund the price paid. Any replacement hardware will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. These remedies are void if failure of the hardware has resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY. THE WARRANTIES EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT REPLACE ALL OTHER WARRANTIES. Deutsch 5 Einrichten und Betrieb Einrichten des Lautsprechersystems Logitech ® Z-540 Gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor (siehe Abb. auf der vorherigen Seite): • Schließen Sie die farbigen Lautsprecherstecker an den entsprechenden Buchsen auf der Rückseite des Subwoofer an. Schließen Sie den DIN-Stecker des rechten vorderen Lautsprechers am Subwoofer an. Achten Sie dabei darauf, dass die Stifte richtig liegen. • 4-Kanal-Soundkarte: Schließen Sie den grünen Stecker des Audioeingangskabels an der Buchse für die vorderen und den schwarzen Stecker an der Buchse für die hinteren Lautsprecher an. • 2-Kanal-Soundkarte: Schließen Sie den grünen Stecker des Audioausgangskabels an der “Line-Out”-Buchse der Soundkarte an. Aktivieren Sie M3D ™ , um einen optimalen Klang zu gewährleisten. • Stecken Sie das Netzkabel in eine Steckdose. Die Bedienelemente des Lautsprechersystems Logitech ® Z-540 Netzschalter Drücken Sie zum Einschalten der Lautsprecher die Power-Taste am rechten vorderen Lautsprecher. Systemlautstärke Schalten Sie den Computer ein, starten Sie eine Audioquelle, und stellen Sie die gewünschte Lautstärke mit Hilfe des Reglers am rechten vorderen Lautsprecher ein. Lautstärke (Subwoofer) Schalten Sie den Computer ein, starten Sie eine Audioquelle und stellen Sie die gewünschte Lautstärke auf der Geräterückseite ein. M3D ™ M3D ™ erzeugt sehr realistischen Surround-Sound aus Material, das in Stereo aufgenommen wurde (z.B. CDs, MP3s und ältere Spiele). Drücken Sie zum Aktivieren dieser Funktion die M3D ™ - Taste am rechten vorderen Lautsprecher. 6 Deutsch Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise Vorsicht Elektroschockgefahr! Öffnen Sie die Lautsprecher nicht, und bringen Sie sie nicht in Kontakt mit Flüssigkeiten! Wasser und Feuchtigkeit – Stellen Sie die Lautsprecher nicht in der Nähe von Wasser auf, und bringen Sie sie nicht in Kontakt mit Flüssigkeiten. Wärme – Stellen Sie die Lautsprecher nicht in der Nähe von Wärmequellen auf. Belüftung – Verdecken Sie die Öffnungen der Lautsprechergehäuse nicht, führen Sie keine Gegenstände in die Öffnungen ein, und achten Sie darauf, dass zwischen den Lautsprechern und anderen Geräten bzw. der Wand ein ausreichender Abstand besteht. Aufstellungsort – Die Lautsprecher müssen auf einer stabilen Unterlage stehen, um zu verhindern, dass sie herunterfallen und dabei Personen oder das Gerät zu Schaden kommen. Anschlüsse – Schließen Sie die Lautsprecher nur an der Line Out-Buchse des Computers oder eines Audiogeräts an. Reinigung – Trennen Sie die Lautsprecher vom Computer, und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker, bevor Sie sie mit einem feuchten Tuch reinigen. Blitzschlag – Um die Lautsprecher bei einem Gewitter zu schützen, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker des Subwoofer, und schalten Sie den Computer aus. Wartung – Warten Sie das Gerät nicht selbst, sondern überlassen Sie dies einem Fachmann. Es besteht Stromschlaggefahr. 8 Français Installation et fonctionnement Installation des haut-parleurs Logitech ® Z-540 En vous reportant au schéma de la page précédente, procédez comme suit: • Branchez les prises colorées de chacun des haut-parleurs satellites dans les connecteurs correspondants, situés à l’arrière du subwoofer. Connectez la prise DIN du haut-parleur avant droit au subwoofer, comme illustré, en veillant à aligner correctement les broches avant d'insérer la prise. • Carte son à quatre canaux: connectez la prise verte du câble d’entrée audio au connecteur avant de la carte son et la prise noire au connecteur arrière. • Carte son à deux canaux: branchez la prise verte du câble d’entrée audio dans le connecteur line out de la carte son. Activez M3D ™ pour obtenir une qualité audio optimale. • Branchez le câble d'alimentation dans la prise électrique. Utilisation des haut-parleurs Logitech ® Z-540 Alimentation Pour mettre le système sous tension ou hors tension, appuyez sur le bouton Power, situé sur le haut-parleur avant droit. Volume des haut-parleurs Une fois l'ordinateur en marche et une source audio activée, réglez le volume désiré à l'aide du bouton correspondant situé sur le haut-parleur droit. Volume du subwoofer Une fois l'ordinateur en marche et une source audio activée, réglez le volume désiré à l'aide du bouton correspondant situé à l'arrière du subwoofer. M3D ™ La technologie M3D ™ donne un son surround très réaliste aux données audio enregistrées en stéréo, qu’il s’agisse de CD, de fichiers MP3 ou de jeux moins récents. Pour l’activer, appuyez sur le bouton M3D ™ , situé sur le haut-parleur avant droit. Si vos haut-parleurs sont connectés à une carte son 2 canaux, il est préférable d’utiliser la technologie M3D ™ en continu. Si vous utilisez une carte son 4 canaux, faites des essais avec la technologie M3D ™ pour savoir quel type de son vous préférez.
