      First Time Setup
    When you first turn on the TV, a series of steps will pop-
    up to guide you to setup your TV.
      ●These steps are not necessar y if the setup has been 
    completed by your local dealer.

    To watch TV via a Cable box, Satellite receiver, or any 
    other source (DVD, DVR, gaming device, etc.), press the 
    INPUT button and select the appropriate input (p. 15).
    Note
      ●If you turn off the T V by pulling out the power cord 
    before completing “First Time Setup”, “First Time 
    Setup” will launch again when you next turn on the 
    TV.
    On the other hand, if you turn off the TV with the 
    POWER button on the TV or remote control, this 
    procedure will not launch again on your next power on.
      ●You can repeat “First Time Setup” by selecting [Reset 
    to defaults] in the [Setup] menu (p. 22).
      ●After “First Time Setup”, you can change [Language] 
    from the [Setup] menu (p. 21) or retune the T V 
    using [Auto program] (p. 22) or [Manual program] 
    (p. 23).

    Media Player allows you to enjoy photo or music

    terminals. To use HDMI 2 with ARC function, connect 
    an amplifier that has ARC function and set to use 
    theatre speakers.
      ●The picture may not appear correctly on this T V 
    depending on the digital cameras used.
      ●Display may take some time when there are many 
    files and folders in the USB Flash Memor y.
      ●Par tly degraded files might be displayed at a reduced 
    resolution.
      ●The folder and file names may be different depending 
    on the digital camera used.

    [Vivid]: Provides enhanced picture contrast and 
    sharpness for viewing in a well-lit room.
    [Standard]: Recommended for normal viewing 
    conditions with subdued room lighting.
    [Cinema]: For watching movies in a darkened room. It 
    provides a soft, film-like picture.
    [Game]: For playing video games.
    [Custom (Photo)]: Customizes each item according 
    to your preference. [Photo] is displayed in JPEG menu 
    (full screen).

    Adjusts the luminance of the back light.
    [Contrast], [Brightness], [Color], [Tint],

    Adjusts these items for each picture mode to suit your 
    preferences.

    Selects a choice of Cool (blue), Normal, or Warm (red)

    Note
    Some menus/items are grayed out depending on the 
    input signal or condition. For example, [3:2 pulldown] will 
    be grayed out if the input signal is high-definition or you 
    are viewing photos, etc.
    Sound
    [Reset to defaults]
    Resets all audio adjustments to factory default settings.
      ●Press OK to proceed.
    [Sound mode]
    Sets your favorite sound mode.
    [Music]
    : Improves sound quality for watching music 
    videos, etc.
    [Speech]
    : Improves sound quality for watching 
    news, drama, etc.
    [User]
    : Adjusts the sounds manually by using the 
    equalizer.
    In [Music] and [Speech] modes, you can adjust the 
    [Bass] and [Treble] settings, and those settings will be 
    stored for each mode.
    When you select [User] mode, [Equalizer] is active 
    instead of [Bass] and [Treble].
    [Bass] / [Treble]
    Adjusts the level of bass/treble effect respectively.

    [Equalizer]
    Adjusts the frequency level to suit your favorite sound 
    quality
      ●Available when [Sound mode] is set to [User].
      ●Select the frequency and change the frequency level 
    by using the cursor buttons.
      ●To enhance the bass sound, raise the level of the 
    lower frequency. To enhance the treble sound, raise 
    the level of the higher frequency.
      ●To reset the levels of each frequency to the default 
    settings, select [Reset to Defaults] by using the cursor 
    button, and then press OK.
    [Balance]
    Adjusts the left / right speaker volume.
    [Surround]
    Enhances audio left / right response when listening to 
    stereo. [Off / On] 
    [TV speakers]
    Lets you switch the TV speaker off/on when using 
    external speakers. [Off / On]
      ●When you set to [Off ], [Surround], [Bass], [Treble] and 
    [Balance] are not available.
    [Digital audio out]
    Selects the initial setting for digital audio output signal 
    from DIGITAL AUDIO OUT and HDMI 2 (ARC function) 
    terminals.
    [Auto]: Dolby Digital is output as Dolby Digital 
    Bitstream. MPEG is output as PCM. 
    [PCM]: Digital output signal is fixed to PCM.
      ●When the T V receives NTSC signal, the output is 
    PCM.
      ●For Digital T V or video contents of Media Player.
      [Audio input]
    Selects to fit the input signal.

    [HDMI1-2 in]
    [Digital]: When sound is carried via the HDMI cable 
    connection.
    [Analog]: When sound is not carried via the HDMI-DVI 
    adaptor cable connection.
    Lock
    You will be asked to enter your password each time you 
    display the [Lock] menu.
    [Password]
    Input your 4-digit password.
      ●Enter “1234” for the first time. This is the default 
    password.
      ●To change the password  “[Change password]” 
    (p. 21)
      ●Make a note of your password in case you would 
    forget it. If you have forgotten your password, consult 
    your local dealer.
      ●When you select a locked channel, a message will 
    be displayed that allows you to view the channel after 
    you input your password.
    [Mode]
    Selects lock mode.
    [Custom]: Locks specified settings of [Channel], 
    [Program] and [Inputs].
    [Off]: Unlocks all the Lock settings of [Channel], 
    [Program] and [Inputs].
    [All]: Locks all the inputs regardless of the Lock 
    settings of [Channel], [Program] and [Inputs].
    [Channel]
    Selects channel to lock.
      ●The selected channels will be blocked regardless of 
    the program rating.
    [Program]
    Sets rating level.
    [Mode]: Sets program lock status. [Off / On]
      –
    “V-chip” technology enables restricted shows to lock 
    according to TV ratings. 
      –
    [On]: Sets each rating level (U.S.TV Ratings, U.S. 
    Movie Ratings, C.E.L.R., C.F.L.R.)
    [U.S. TV ratings]: U.S. TV program ratings.
    [U.S. Movie ratings]: U.S. movie ratings.
    [Canadian English ratings]: Canadian English 
    ratings.
    [Canadian French ratings]: Canadian French ratings.
