A Slide bar•It is possible to switch the playback screen by touching the following icons. –[ ]: 1 screen–[ ]: 12 screens –[ ]: 30 screens–[ ]: Calendar screen display•Switch the screen by touching [ 3]/[4] if these are displayed on the slide bar. •The screen can be switched by dragging the slide bar up or down (P8). •The screen can be switched gradually by dragging the screen up or down (P8). •Pictures displayed using [ ] cannot be played back. Using the Playback Zoom Touch the part to enlarge firmly. 1 k > 2k> 4k> 8k > 16k •You can also enlarge/reduce the picture by moving the zoom lever. •When you change the magnification, the zoom position indication B appears for about 2 seconds. •The more a picture is enlarged, the more its quality deteriorates. •You can move the enlarged part by dragging (P8) the screen.•Picture will return to the original size (1k) by touching [ ]. •When you touch [ ] , the magnification becomes lower. Basic - 32 - Playing Back Motion Pictures This unit was designed to play motion pictures using the AVCHD, MP4 and QuickTime Motion JPEG formats. In Playback Mode, select a picture with the motion picture icon (such as [ ]/[ ]) and touch [ ] in the middle of the screen. For example, 8 minutes and 30 seconds is displayed as [8m30s]. •Some information (recording information, etc.) is not displayed for motion pictures recorded in [AVCHD]. AB

Basic - 34 - Deleting Pictures Once deleted, pictures cannot be recovered. •Pictures on the built-in memory or the card, that are being played back will be deleted.•Pictures that are not in the DCF standard or those that are protected cannot be deleted. To delete a single pictureIn Playback Mode, select the picture to delete and touch [ ]. Touch [Delete Single]. •Confirmation screen is displayed. Picture is deleted by selecting [Yes].

- 35 - Basic Note •Do not turn the camera off while deleting. Use a battery with sufficient battery power or the AC adaptor (optional). •Depending on the number of pictures to be deleted, it may take some time to delete them. To delete multiple pictures (up to 50) or all the pictures In Playback Mode, touch [ ]. Touch [Delete Multi] or [Delete All]. •[Delete All] > Confirmation screen is displayed. Pictures are deleted by selecting [Yes]. •It is possible to delete all pictures except the ones set as favorite when [ All Delete Except Ü] is selected with the [Delete All] set. (When [Delete Multi] is selected) Touch the picture to be deleted. (repeat this step) •[ ] appears on the selected pictures. Touching again cancels the setting. (When [Delete Multi] is selected) Touch [OK]. •Confirmation screen is displayed. Pictures are deleted by selecting [Yes].

Basic - 36 - Setting the Menu The camera comes with menus that allow you to choose the settings for taking pictures and playing them back as you like and menus that enable you to have more fun with the camera and use it more easily. In particular, the [Setup] menu contains some important settings relating to the camera’s clock and power. Check the settings of this menu before proceeding to use the camera. Example: In the [Rec] menu, change [AF Mode] from [Ø] (1-area-focusing) to [š] (Face Detection) Setting menu items To u c h [ ] . Touch the menu icon. Menu Description of settings ![Rec] (P73 to 92) ([Rec] Mode only)This menu lets you set the Coloring, Sensitivity, Aspect Ratio, Number of pixels and other aspects of the pictures you are recording. [Motion Picture] (P93 to 95) ([Rec] Mode only) This menu lets you set the [Rec Mode], [Rec Quality], and other aspects for motion picture recording. ([Playback] (P101 to 112) ([Playback] Mode only) This menu lets you set the Protection, Cropping or Print Settings, etc. of recorded pictures. [Wi-Fi Setup] (P126 to 143) ([Playback] Mode only) This menu allows changes to be made to Wi-Fi settings, including saving wireless access points (broadband router) and registering the “LUMIX CLUB”. [Easy Setup]: (P126) This menu allows changes to be made to Wi-Fi settings easily. [Manual Setup] : (P126) This menu allows changes to be made to Wi-Fi settings manually. [Setup] (P39 to 48) This menu lets you perform the clock settings, select the operating beep tone settings and set other settings which make it easier for you to operate the camera.

Note • There are functions that cannot be set or used depending on the modes or menu settings being used on the camera due to the specifications. Touch the menu item. •The page can be changed by touching [ ]/[ ]. Touch the Settings. •Depending on the menu item, its setting may not appear or it may be displayed in a different way. Description of the icon is displayed by touching and holding the icon for menu item/ setting in steps 3 and 4. –It will be set when you release your finger.–It will not be set when you move your finger to the position where there is no icon, and then release your finger.

Basic - 38 - You can have the LCD monitor display desired menu items. Up to 2 frequently-used menu items can be registered per [Rec]/[Playback] Mode. • Read P73 for the [Rec] Mode menu, P93 for the [Motion Picture] Mode menu, and P101 for the [Playback] Mode menu. ∫ Replacing or removing items •In Step 2, drag the menu item you want to register to an item already registered. The items will be replaced. •In Step 2, drag registered items out of the shortcut setting area. Registration is canceled leaving an empty item. Note •Settings in the [Wi-Fi Setup] Menu/[Setup] Menu cannot be set.•You may not be able to use some of the registered items depending on the [Rec] Mode. Call up commonly used menus with ease (Shortcut setting) Touch [ ] on the menu item selection screen. Drag the menu item to register to the shortcut setting area. - 39 - Basic About the Setup Menu [Clock Set], [Economy] and [Auto Review] are important items. Check their settings before using them. For details on how to select the [Setup] menu settings, refer to P36. • Refer to P17 for details. •Setup/cancel summer time by touching [ ] when selecting your area.•If you cannot find the travel destination in the areas displayed on the screen, set by the time difference from the home area. [Clock Set] — [World Time] Set the time in your home area and travel destination. You can display the local times at the travel destinations and record them on the pictures you take. After selecting [Destination] or [Home], select your area with [ ]/[ ] and touch [Set]. • Set [Home] first thing after purchasing. [Destination] can be set after setting up [Home]. Basic - 40 - •The number of days that have passed since the departure date can be printed out using the “PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.4 HD Lite Edition with Wi-Fi” bundled software on the CD-ROM (supplied). •The travel date is calculated using the date in the clock setting and the departure date you set. If you set [World Time] to the travel destination, the travel date is calculated using the date in the clock setting and the travel destination setting. •The travel date setting is memorized even if the camera is turned off.•The number of days that have passed since the departure date is not recorded before the departure date. •The [Travel Date] feature is disabled when recording [AVCHD] motion pictures.•While recording motion pictures, the [Location] feature is disabled.•When Intelligent Auto Mode is selected, the [Travel Date] feature is disabled. Setting of other Recording Mode will be reflected. [Travel Date] Departure date and return date of the travel as well as the name of the travel destination can be set. You can display the number of days that have passed when playing back the pictures and stamp it on the recorded pictures with [Text Stamp] (P102). [Travel Setup]: [SET]: Departure date and return date are set. Elapsed days (how many days after) of the travel are recorded. [OFF]: Elapsed days are not recorded. • The travel date is automatically canceled if the current date is after the return date.If the [Travel Setup] is set to [OFF], [Location] will be also set to [OFF]. [Location]: [SET]: Travel destination is recorded at the time of recording. [OFF] • For details on how to enter characters, refer to “Entering Text” on P72 .
