Recording Profiles of Babies and Pets on 
Images
Applicable modes: 
By setting the name and birthday of your baby or pet in advance, you can record their 
name and age in months and years on images.
You can display them during playback or st amp them on recorded images using [Text 
Sta mp]   (P236).

Optical Image Stabilizer
The camera detects jitter during recording and automatically corrects it, so you can record 
images with reduced jitter.
Set the O.I.S. switch to [ON].

Taking Pictures with the Zoom
Applicable modes: 
You can zoom-out to record landscapes etc. in wide angle (Wide) or zoom-in to make 
people and objects appear closer (Tele).

The lens barrel will extend or retract depending on the zoom position. Take care not to obstruct 
the movement of the lens barrel when using the Zoom function.

Although the image quality deteriorates every time you zoom in further, you can zoom in 
up to four times the original zoom magnification.

When using the [i.Zoom], the maximum magnifica tion of the Digital Zoom is limited to 2k.•When using the Digital Zoom, we recommend using a tripod and the self-timer  (P174) for taking 
pictures.
•In the Digital Zoom range, the AF area is displayed at the center in a larger size.
