Chapter 7 Appendix — Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter Unit (optional) 242 - ENGLISH Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter Unit (optional) The optional Smoke Cut Filter (Model No.: ET-SFR330) is attached when using the projector in an environment generating smoke such as an event. Attach the Smoke Cut Filter instead of the standard air filter unit attached to the projector. When purchasing the optional Smoke Cut Filter (Model No.: ET - SFR330), consult your dealer. Attention f Make sure to turn of f the power before removing the standard air filter unit attached to the projector and attaching the optional Smoke Cut Filter. (x page 68) fMake sure that the projector is stable, and perform the maintenance in a safe place even if the filter falls accidentally . Note fThe Smoke Cut Filter cannot be used at an altitude of 1 400 m (4 593') or higher and in an environment where the temperature exceeds 40 °C (104 °F). fSet [OPERA TING MODE] to anything other than [LONG LIFE1], [LONG LIFE2], or [LONG LIFE3] when using the optional Smoke Cut Filter (Model No.: ET - SFR330). fThe Smoke Cut Filter cannot be maintained, recycled, or reused. Make sure to replace it with an unused one. Removing the air filter unit First, remove the standard air filter unit attached to the projector . (Fig. 1) fUse a Phillips screwdriver to turn the air filter cover fixing screw counterclockwise until it turns freely , and open the air filter cover for approximately 90°. f Loosen the air filter cover fixing screw while holding the air filter cover with your hand. 3) Pull out the air filter unit. i) Pull out the air filter unit from the tabs on the projector body (c) while slightly pressing the grip on the air filter unit (a) inward as described with the arrow . (Fig. 2) ii) Pull out the air filter unit. (Fig. 3) fWhen pulling out, confirm that the air filter unit comes of f from the tabs on the projector body (d). fAfter pulling out the air filter unit, remove large foreign objects and dust from the air filter unit compartment and the air intake port of the projector body if there are any . fWhen the air filter unit is removed, proceed to “Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter” ( x page 243) next. Attention f Take care not to touch the radiator fin, etc., when removing dirt or dust.

(Fig. 1) fThe Smoke Cut Filter has no dif ference between top and bottom, but is two-sided. i) Hook the Smoke Cut Filter frame at the bottom side to the tabs on the air filter unit compartment (Smoke Cut Filter compartment) of the projector body (d). (Fig. 1) ii) While lightly pressing inward as described with the arrow (Fig. 1), hook the center area of the Smoke Cut Filter frame at the top side to the tabs on the air filter unit compartment (Smoke Cut Filter compartment) of the projector body (c). (Fig. 2) fConfirm that the tabs on the air filter unit compartment (Smoke Cut Filter compartment) (c) and (d) are hooked to the Smoke Cut Filter frame. 2) Slide the air filter cover toward the direction of the arrow to close (\ Fig. 3), and tighten the air filter cover fixing screw using a Phillips screwdriver . fWhen the Smoke Cut Filter and the air filter cover are attached to the projector body , proceed to “Setting the filter” ( x page 243) next. Note f Make sure that the Smoke Cut Filter is properly attached before using the projector . If it is not attached, the projector will suck in dirt and dust causing a malfunction. Setting the filter Set the type of filter, and then reset the filter runtime (counter numerical value). 1) T urn on the power of the projector. 2) Press the button on the remote control or control panel. fThe [MAIN MENU] screen is displayed. 3) Press as to select [PROJECTOR SETUP]. 4) Press the button. fThe [PROJECTOR SETUP] screen is displayed. 5) Press as to select [FILTER SETTING]. 6) Press the button. fThe [FILTER SETTING] screen is displayed. 7) Press as to select [FILTER TYPE]. 8) Press qw to select [SMOKE CUT]. 9) Press as to select [FILTER COUNTER RESET], and press the button.

Chapter 7 Appendix — Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter Unit (optional) 244 - ENGLISH 10) When the confirmation screen is displayed, press qw to select [OK], and press the button. fThe [PROJECT OR SETUP] menu → [STATUS] → [FILTER COUNTER] is displayed as “0”. Attention f When use of the Smoke Cut Filter is finished and replaced with a standard air filter unit, make sure to reset the filter counter after setting [PROJECT OR SETUP] menu → [FILTER SETTING] → [FILTER TYPE] to [NORMAL]. When the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [FILTER SETTING] → [FILTER COUNTER RESET] is executed, the filter counter is reset. Note f[FILTER TYPE] cannot be set to [SMOKE CUT] when the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [OPERATION SETTING] → [OPERATING MODE] is set to [LONG LIFE1], [LONG LIFE2], or [LONG LIFE3]. Set [OPERA TING MODE] to anything other than [LONG LIFE1], [LONG LIFE2], or [LONG LIFE3] when using the Smoke Cut Filter. f Continuing to use the projector with incorrect [FIL TER TYPE] setting may cause failure of the projector. fWhen the projector is used without resetting the filter counter , the actual filter runtime (counter numeric value) will not be able to be confirmed. f When replacing the Smoke Cut Filter , remove the used Smoke Cut Filter by performing Steps 1) and 2) in “Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter” (x page 243) in the reverse order. fWhen use of the Smoke Cut Filter is finished and replaced with the air filter unit, perform the steps in “Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter” ( x page 243) and “Removing the air filter unit” ( x page 242) in the reverse order to replace.
