     [Custom Key Settings] is available with the following shooting modes. A function that has been assigned 
    to the soft key is called only in the following shooting mode.
    –[Manual Exposure]
    – [Shutter Priority]
    – [Aperture Priority]
    – [Program Auto]
     The setting of [Soft key B Setting] cannot be used in the following situations:
    – [Object Tracking] function is activated.
    – [Autofocus Area] is set to [Flexible Spot]
     The application downloading function may not be available in some countries/regions. In such cases, you  cannot use the application downloading function even if you set [Download Appli.] and [Application 
    List].
     [Download Appli.] and [Application List] may not be displayed in some countries/regions in which the 
    application downloading function is not available.

    When it is hard to obtain an appropriate exposure for the subject, this function allows 
    you to lock the exposure by focusing on and measuring the light of an area that has the 
    desired brightness.
    NEX-6:
    1
    MENU  t [Setup]  t [Custom Key Settings] t  [Func. of AEL button].
    2 Select [AEL toggle].
    3 Aim the camera at an area to which you want to match the exposure.
    The exposure is set.
    4Press the AEL button.
    The exposure is locked, and  (AE lock) lights up.
    5Focus on your subject and press the shutter button.
    6 To cancel the exposure lock, press the AEL button again.
    NEX-5R:
    1MENU  t [Setup]  t [Custom Key Settings] t  [Soft key B Setting].
    2 Select [AEL toggle].
    The soft key B becomes the AEL button.
    3Aim the camera at an area to which you want to match the exposure.
    The exposure is set.
    4Press the AEL button.
    The exposure is locked, and  (AE lock) lights up.
    5Focus on your subject and press the shutter button.
    6 To cancel the exposure lock, press the AEL button again.

    Sets whether or not to operate the camera using the touch panel.

    MENU  t [Setup]  t [Touch Operation] t  desired setting.
     Even if [On] is selected, you cannot operate the camera via the touch panel in the following situations:
    – The camera is outputting images to a connected TV.
    – The camera is connected to a device via USB.
    – An Electronic Viewfinder (sold separately) is used.
    On Allows operation using the touch panel.
    Off Does not allow operation using the touch panel.

    Selects the sound produced when you operate the camera.

    On Audible signals will be emitted when you operate the control 
    wheel, soft keys and control dial. The audible signals also turn 
    on when you touch the screen (NEX-5R only).

    Sets the date and time again.
     The camera does not have a feature for superimposing dates on images. By using “PlayMemories Home” 
    on the CD-ROM (supplied), you can print or save images with the date.
     You cannot set the date and time by touching the screen (NEX-5R only).

    2 Press the right or left of the control wheel to 
    select an item, and press the top or bottom 
    of it to select the desired setting.
    3 Select OK.
    Daylight Svg.: Selects [ON] or [OFF].
    Date Format: Selects the date and time display format.

    Sets the area where you are using the camera. This allows you to set the local area when 
    you use the camera abroad.
     You cannot select an area by touching the screen (NEX-5R only).
