    Paper Jams in the Finisher Transport
    1. Lift to open the finisher transport cover.
    Note:The cover is hinged and cannot be removed from the printer.
    2. Remove the jammed paper.
    Note:If the paper is torn, remove all torn pieces from the printer.
    3. Close the finisher transport cover.

    1. Lift to open the finisher transport cover, then open the front transport cover.
    Note:The covers are hinged and cannot be removed from the printer.

    2. Remove the Hole Punch Waste Container at R4.
    3. Empty the waste container.
    Note:Whenever the waste container is removed, it must be emptied before re-inserting it in the printer.
    4. Insert the container all the way into the finisher.
    5. Locate and remove any paper jams.
    6. Close the front transport cover, then close the finisher transport cover.

    Troubleshooting Paper Jams
    The printer is designed to function with minimal paper jams using Xerox supported media types only. 
    Other media types may cause more frequent paper jams. If supported media is jamming frequently in 
    one area, that area may need to be cleaned or repaired.

    Probable CausesSolutions
    The paper tray is too full. Remove some of the paper. Do not load paper past fill line.
    The front edges of the paper are not even.  Remove the media, align the front edges, then reload it.
    The media is moist from humidity.  Remove the media from the tray, and replace it with new 
    dry media.
    Too much static electricity is present.  Try a new ream of paper.
    Unsupported media. Use only Xerox-approved media. See Supported Media on 
    page 51.
    Humidity is too high for coated paper. Feed paper one sheet at a time.
    Probable CausesSolutions
    Some paper remains jammed in the printer. Recheck the media path and make sure that you have 
    removed all of the jammed paper.

    Probable CausesSolutions
    Unsupported media of the wrong size, 
    thickness, or type is being used.Use only Xerox-approved media. For details, see Supported 
    Media on page 51.
    Recheck the media path inside the duplex module and 
    make sure that you have removed all of the jammed paper.
    Make sure that you have not mixed media types in the tray.
    Do not print envelopes, labels, extra heavyweight, or gloss 
    paper 2-sided.
    Probable CausesSolutions
    Unsupported media of the wrong size, 
    thickness, or type is in use.Do not use unsupported media.
    Use only Xerox-approved media. See Supported Media on 
    page 51.
    The documents loaded in the document feeder 
    exceed the maximum capacity allowed.Place fewer documents in the document feeder.
    The document feeder guides are 
    improperly adjusted.Ensure the media guides fit snugly against the media 
    loaded in the document feeder.
    Probable CausesSolutions
    The media is not correctly positioned in the tray. Remove the misfed media and reposition the media 
    properly in the tray. Ensure that the media guides in the 
    tray are set correctly.
    The number of sheets in the tray exceeds the 
    maximum capacity allowed.Remove the excess paper and load paper below the fill line.
    The media guides are not correctly adjusted to 
    the media size.Adjust the media guides in the tray to match the size of 
    the media.
    Warped or wrinkled media is loaded in the tray. Remove the media, smooth it out, and reload it. If it still 
    misfeeds, do not use that media.
    The media is moist from humidity. Remove the moist media and replace it with new, dry media.
    Unsupported media of the wrong size, 
    thickness, or type is in use.Do not use unsupported media.

    User Guide195 The label sheet is facing the wrong way in the tray. Load the label sheets according to the 
    manufacturer’s instructions.
    Envelopes are facing the wrong way in Tray 5 
    (Bypass Tray).Load the envelopes facedown in Tray 5 (Bypass Tray) with 
    the flaps closed, on the leading edge.

    WARNING:Do not perform this procedure while the printer is copying or printing.
    1. Open the finisher door.
    2. Grip the staple cartridge by the orange handle and remove it by pulling it firmly toward you.
    3. Check inside the finisher for any loose staples and remove them.

    4. Open the staple cartridge clamp by pulling firmly in the direction shown.
    5. Remove the jammed staples (1), then push the clamp in the direction shown until it snaps into the 
    locked position (2).
    WARNING:The points of the jammed staples are sharp. Remove the jammed staples carefully.
    6. Grip the staple cartridge by the orange handle and insert it into the staple cartridge unit until it clicks.
    7. Close the finisher front door.

    Clearing Main Staple Jams in Office Finisher LX
    WARNING:Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
    1. Open the finisher front door.
    2. The stapler is located inside the finisher cabinet. Pull the stapler toward you until it stops.
    3. Push the stapler to the right.
    4. Grip the staple cartridge by the orange handle and remove it by pulling it firmly toward you.

    5. Check inside the finisher for any loose staples and remove them.
    6. Open the staple cartridge clamp by pulling firmly in the direction shown.
    WARNING:The points of the jammed staples are sharp. Remove the jammed staples carefully.
    7. Remove the jammed staples (1), then push the clamp in the direction shown until it snaps into the 
    locked position (2).
    8.  Grip the staple cartridge by the orange handle and insert it into the stapler until it clicks into place.
    9. Close the finisher front door.

    Clearing Booklet Maker Staple Jams in Office Finisher LX
    The booklet maker stapler uses two staple cartridges labeled R2 and R3. Booklet stapling requires that 
    both staple cartridges be free of jammed staples.
    WARNING:Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
    1. Open the booklet maker side cover.
    2. If the staple cartridges are not visible, grip the vertical panels at the left and right of the opening 
    and gently slide them to the center until they stop.
    3. Grip the orange tabs on both sides of the staple cartridge and pull the cartridge out of the stapler
    WARNING:The points of the jammed staples are sharp. Remove the jammed staples carefully.
