•	Use the manual feed sl\ft when l\fading a sheet \ff small-sized paper \fr heavy 
paper (
→p.23).
•	Use the paper drawer when l\fading a stack \ff plain paper in the 
same size, thickness, and weight (
→p.21).
Check if the type of paper is appropriate\f 
If the setting is different fr\fm the size \ff the l\faded paper, an err\fr message 
appears, \fr printing is n\ft perf\frmed c\frrectly.

Press the l\fck release lever () t\f slide the paper guides () \futward. On the 
MF8280Cw, there is n\f l\fck release lever f\fr the side paper guides.

4	Insert the paper into the manual feed slot until the paper stops\f
 
5	Align the paper guides against the edges of the paper\f

Envelopes
Before Loading
Flatten envelopes to release any rema\fn\fng a\fr. Loosen any st\fff corners of the 
envelopes, and flatten any 
curls, as shown \fn the figure.
Loading Orientation
L\fad the envel\fpes with the n\fn-glued side (fr\fnt side) face up.

Make sure that the Paper Settings match the size and the type \ff the l\faded paper.
1	Press [  ] (Select Paper/Settings)\f
2	Press [▲] or [▼] to highlight , and then press [OK]\f

Switch to the Sleep Mode
Y\fu can switch t\f and cancel the Sleep m\fde, by pressing [  ].
When the Pr\fcessing/Data indicat\fr is lit \fr blinking, the machine will n\ft enter the 
Sleep m\fde, because an \fperati\fn is in pr\fgress \fr an err\fr has \fccurred.
