Creating Flip Animation
You can create motion image files by arranging pictures taken frame-by-frame.
Preparation
 Set the mode dial except for [ ]/[ ]. (P30)
Example:
When capturing images of the subject in 
sequence moving it little by little and 
aligning the images, the subject looks

 You can take up to 100 pictures.
4Check the image.
 You can check the previous or 
following image with 2/1.
 Delete unnecessary images with 
[ ] button.

7Select [CREATE MOTION IMAGE] 
and create a flip animation.
 The file number appears for about 
1 second after creating a flip 
animation.
 Including the created images, the 
flip animation is counted as 
1 animation image.
 Close the menu by pressing the 
[MENU] button 3 times after 
finishing the setting.

Using the External Flash
After installing the optional flash, DMW-FL28, the effective range will be increased 
when compared to the camera’s built in flash.
Preparation
 Set the mode dial except for [ ]/[ ]. (P30)
1Attach the external flash to the hot 
shoe 1 and turn the camera on.
 Tighten the lock screw 2 of the 
external flash firmly.2Select [PRESET] or [MANUAL] 
and turn the external flash on.

ªAbout PRESET/MANUAL on the 
external flash
 When setting to [PRESET] and 
attaching the external flash, the 
aperture value and the ISO sensitivity 
are respectively set to [F2.8] and 
[ISO100] on the camera regardless of 
the recording mode. Set the external 
flash to [AUTO] and set the same 
value as the settings on the camera.
 We recommend setting to [PRESET] 
for normal use.

Using the Conversion Lens
The tele conversion lens (DMW-LTZ10, optional) allows you to record pictures 
zooming in much more (1.5 times). The wide conversion lens (DMW-LWZ10, 
optional) allows you take pictures with wider range of focus than usual (0.8 times).
Preparation
 Set the mode dial except for [ ]. (P30)
 Check that the camera is turned off and that the lens is retracted.

Playing Back Pictures with Audio

 You can hear audio from the speaker.

Playing Back Motion Images
Preparation
 Set the mode dial to [ ]. (P30)
1Select the picture with the motion 
image icon [ ].
2Play back the motion images.
 Motion image playback stops and the normal playback is restored by 
pressing  4.
 The icon 1 is corresponding to the  3 /4 /2/ 1.

Rotating the Picture
You can rotate the recorded pictures in increments of 90°.
This is a convenient function to play back pictures on TV. 
Preparation
 Set the mode dial to [ ]. (P30)
1Select [ROTATE].
2Select the direction to rotate the
