    Taking Close-up Pictures
    Applicable modes:
This mode allows you to take close-up pictures of a subject, e.g. when taking pictures of
    flowers.

    k).
[]([Macro Zoom]) Use this setting to get close to the subject and then further
    enlarge when taking the picture.
You can take a picture with the Digital Zoom up to 3

    • Keep the following points in mind when taking close-up pictures:
    – If the distance between the camera and the subject is beyond t he focus range of the
camera, the picture may not be properly focused even if the foc us indication lights.
    – We recommend using a tripod and the Self-timer.
    – We recommend setting the flash to [ Œ] (close the flash).
    – When a subject is close to the camera, the effective focus ran ge is significantly narrowed.
Therefore, if the distance between the camera and the subject is changed after focusing on
the subject, it may become difficult to focus on it again.
    – The resolution of the periphery of the picture may decrease slightly. This is not a malfunction.
Not available in these cases:• [AF Macro] is not available when the Focus Mode is set to [MF].

When you press the shutter button halfway, the maximum number
of pictures you can take cont inuously will appear. You can chec k
the approximate number of pictures that can be taken before the

    • Once recording starts, the maximum number of pictures that can be taken continuously will
decrease. When [r0] appears, the burst speed will slow down.
    • When [r99+] is displayed, you can take 100 or more pictures co ntinuously.
    Focusing in Burst Mode
The method for achieving focus varies depending on the focus mo de (P89) and the
[Focus/Release Priority] (P222) setting in the [Custom] menu.
¢1 When the subject is dark, the focus is fixed on the first picture.
¢ 2 The burst speed may become slower because the camera is contin uously focusing on the
    subject.
¢ 3 Burst speed takes priority, and focus is estimated within poss ible range.
