(After setting the cropping start frame and end frame, the start frame and end frame that you set immediately before will be displayed.) • The camera will remember the frame position and size even when the camera is turned off. Quick motion pictures Set a frame rate that provides less frames than the recording f rame rate in [Rec Quality] does. Example: If you set [FHD/100M/24p] to [12fps] and record a moti on picture, a quick motion effect of 2 k can be gained. Recording Motion Pictures • Auto Focus does not work. • Audio is not recorded. • If you set a frame rate with a number of frames greater than 60fps, the picture quality may deteriorate. • If you assign [Variable Frame Rate] to [Fn Button Set] (P55) in the [Custom] menu and press the assinged function button, the frame rate setting screen wil l be displayed. (Only when [Variable Frame Rate] is set to [ON]) • To play back motion pictures recorded with [Variable Frame Rate] on an external device or to export the motion pictures to it, you need a compatible Blu-ray disc recorder or a PC installed with “ PHOTOfunSTUDIO ”. • When [Variable Frame Rate] is set, audio-related items in the [Motion Picture] menu are disabled. • We recommend using a tripod. • When you play back a motion picture recorded with [Variable Fr ame Rate], the recording time display for motion pictures on the top right of the screen will look different from the one that appears during normal motion picture playback. By adjusting the range defined as black, not only can you adjust the way black a ppears, but also the luminance balance of the entire image. 1Select the menu. Recording Motion Pictures 178 By fine-adjusting the shutter speed, you can reduce flickering and horizontal stripes that appear on the camera’s image when recording the screen of a TV or PC. • This function is available when [Exposure Mode] is set to eith er [S] or [M] in Creative Video Mode. 1Select the menu. (P51) 2Select [ON] with 3/4, and then press [MENU/SET] . 3Select Shutter Speed with 2/1, and then press [MENU/SET] . A Shutter speed • Adjust the shutter speed while looking at the screen so that flickering and horizontal stripes will be minimized. • If you press and hold 2/1, the shutter speed will be adjusted faster. • You can also adjust the shutter speed setting on the recording screen in increments finer than the normal adjustment method. Recording Motion Pictures 180 Recording while monitoring camera images Applicable modes: You can record pictures or motion pictures while displaying the camera image on an external device, such as a monitor, via HDMI. • The camera image will be output using the setting selected for [Rec Quality] in the motion picture recording menu. • For connection information, refer to P300. ∫Setting the HDMI output options > [Motion Picture] > [HDMI Rec Output] [Bit Mode] Sets the picture quality for the HDMI output. [4:2:2 8bit] ¢ 1: Allows you to record the image being output through the HDMI connection as a motion picture. This option is ideal for monitoring the image on the external monitor while recording it. [4:2:2 10bit] ¢ 2: Allows you to output the image through the HDMI connection in high picture quality. This option is ideal for saving the image on the exter nal device. [Info Display]Shows or hides the displays of information. [ON]: Outputs the displays on the camera as they are. [OFF]: Outputs only the image. • If you output the image through the HDMI connection when [Bit Mode] is set to [4:2:2 10bit], this setting is fixed to [OFF]. [4K Down Convert] Switches the picture quality according to the connected device. [AUTO]: When the motion picture size is set to [4K] or [C4K] in [Rec Qu ality] and the connected device is not responding, the HDMI output picture qua lity automatically switches to [1080p]. [1080p]: When the motion picture size is set to [4K] or [C4K] in [Rec Qu ality], the HDMI output picture quality switches to [1080p]. [OFF]: Outputs the image through the HDMI connection with the picture quality set in [Rec Quality]. • When [OFF] is set, the image may not be displayed depending on the connected device. • It may take longer than usual to adjust the focus with Auto Fo cus and the camera may respond slower to continuous focus adjustment.
