Installing the Phone
Installing the Handset Battery
NO TE: Y ou must connect the handset bat ter y befor e use.

Inc. appr oved Nick el-metal Hy dride (Ni-MH) batt ery Model  T-2 734 , which is 
compatible with this unit .
1.  Locate batte ry which is packaged inside a plastic bag and is separate fr om the 
handset .
2.   Locate the batte ry compa rtment on the back of the handset .

Base S tation
The phone may be connected to t wo line (R J14C) wall jacks to accommodate all tw o lines.
1.   Choose an ar ea near an electrical outlet and a telephone w all jack (RJ11C), and place 
y our cor dless telephone on a le vel sur face, such as a desk top or tabletop, or you may 
mount it on the  wall.
2.   Install 5 AAA-size alkaline batteries (not included) for back up pow er in the event of a 
pow er failur e.

  Or, y ou can use  the 2 single telephone lines plug into the 2 jacks on the back of the 
telephone.
  If you hav e Line 1 and Line 2 wi red into one  wall jack in y our home or ofce, y ou can 
use one of the supplied telephone line co rds to connect fr om the wall jack to the   
Line 1 + 2 jack on the back of the phone as shown below .

5.   If y ou w ant to mount the telephone on the  wall, y ou can plug the 2 lines such as the

  Connect one end of the coiled handset co rd to the jack on the side of the base and the 
other end into the jack in the handse t, and place the handset in the cradle.

Programming the Phone 
Standby Scr een
The handset displays the handset name and numbe r, date, time, and batter y status and 
the thr ee Soft k eys.
The base displays the cur rent date, time and the Soft k eys.
NO TE: The Soft k eys will change acco rding t o the status of the unit .
NO TE: The base L CD has a dedicat ed “SET CLOCK” icon ashing when the clock 
is not set . Please go t o menu “Phone Setting- Dat e /Time” to set the clock .

Dat e/Time
From the Phone Setting Menu:
1.   Pr ess the  VOL  (- or +) button to sc roll to  Date/Time .
2.   Pr ess  SELECT  Soft key. The scr een displays  Year 2009 . 
3.   Use the touch-tone pad to enter the last t wo digits of the curr ent year (range: 00 to 99).
4.   Pr ess  SAVE Soft k ey to sa ve the y ear setting and pr oceed to date setting.
5.   The scr een displays Date  01/01. Use the touch-tone pad to enter tw o digits for current 
month and day  respecti vely (format: mm /dd).

Dial Mode (only applicable for base)
The Dial Mode of Line 1 and Line 2 can be set separately.
Fr om the Phone Setting Menu:
1.   Pr ess the  vol  (- or +) button to sc roll to the  Dial Mode .
2.   Pr ess  SELECT  Soft key. 
3.   Use the  vol  (- or +) button to select  Tone  or Pulse  and use the  DIR or CID  button to 
select L1 or L2.
4.   Pr ess  SELECT  Soft key to sa ve y our selection and the scr een displays Saved.
NO TE: The Dial mode only can be set in the base menu.

Regist er
From the Phone Setting Menu:
1.   Pr ess the  VOL  (- or +) button to sc roll to  Regist er.
2.   Pr ess  SELECT  Soft key. The sc reen displays  Press base unit page butt on until beep.
3.   Pr ess and hold the  page button on base for 5 seconds.
4.   R egistration  displays to indicate the base is now in r egistration mode.
5.   If the r egistration is success ful, the handset shows  Registration complet e for 2 
seconds and emits a con rmation tone.

2nd Call Aler t 
If it is set to On,  you will hear the ale rt tone when y ou are in conv ersation and ther e is an 
incoming call f rom another line. 
Fr om the Phone Setting Menu:
1.   Pr ess the  VOL  (- or +) button to sc roll to  2ND Call Aler t.
2.   Pr ess  SELECT  Soft key. Use the  VOL  (- or +) button to scr oll to your selection. The default 
setting is  On.
