YoucanconfigureiLO2toforwardalertsfromthehostoperatingsystemmanagementagentsand
tosendiLO2-generatedalertstoHPSIM.
HPSIMprovidessupportforfullSNMPmanagement,andiLO2supportsSNMPtrapdeliveryto
HPSIM.Youcanviewtheeventlog,selecttheevent,andviewtheadditionalinformationabout
thealert.
ConfiguringreceiptofSNMPalertsinHPSIMisatwo-stepprocess.TheprocessrequiresHPSIM
todiscoveriLO2andconfiguringiLO2toenableSNMPalerts.
1.ToenableiLO2tosendSNMPtrapsclickSNMP/InsightManagerSettingsonthe
AdministrationtaboftheiLO2navigationframetoenableSNMPalertingandtoprovidean
SNMPtrapIPaddresstoiLO2.ThisIPaddressmustbetheaddressofthecomputerrunning

2.TodiscoveriLO2inHPSIMconfigureiLO2asamanageddeviceforHPSIM.AddingiLO
2toHPSIMallowstheNICinterfaceoniLO2tofunctionasadedicatedmanagementport,
isolatingmanagementtrafficfromtheremotehostserverNICinterface.
