    							Deleting Folders in the USB External Hard Disk Drive
    Files that are copied to the external hard disk drive can be deleted.
    Caution : 
    0Deleted files cannot be restored.
    0 Be sure to back up important files on a PC.

    Select video or still image mode.
    2 Tap “DELETE”.

    0While the video mode is shown in the image, the same operations
    apply for the still image mode.
    0 Tap the  0010 icon to switch between the video and still image modes.
    3 Tap on the folder to delete.

    4Tap “YES”.

    0After deleting, tap “OK”.
    Formatting the USB External Hard Disk Drive
    All files on the external hard disk drive can be deleted.
    Caution : 
    0All data on the external hard disk drive will be deleted when it is formatted.
    Copy all files on the external hard disk drive to a computer before
    formatting.
    1 Select video or still image mode.
    2 Tap “FORMAT”.

    0While the video mode is shown in the image, the same operations
    apply for the still image mode.
    0 Tap the  0010 icon to switch between the video and still image modes.
    3 Tap “YES”.

    0After formatting, tap “OK”.

    							Copying Files to an SD Card (GZ-EX355)
    You can copy videos and still images from the built-in memory to SD card.
    Copying still images to cards makes it convenient to bring them to the shop for printing (developing).Caution : 
    0 Make sure that there is enough space left in the destination medium.
    0 Videos in the SD card cannot be copied to the built-in memory.

    0Tap  0010 or  0011 to select the video or still image mode.

    							Moving Files to an SD Card (GZ-EX355)
    You can move videos and still images from the built-in memory to SD card.
    Files that are moved will be deleted from the built-in memory.
    Moving still images to SD cards makes it convenient to bring them to the
    shop for printing (developing).Caution : 
    0 Make sure that there is enough space left in the destination medium.
    0 Videos in the SD card cannot be moved to the built-in memory.

    							Copying to Windows PC (GZ-EX355/GZ-EX310)
    You can copy files to a computer using the provided software.
    Discs can also be created using the computer’s DVD or Blu-ray drive.
    If the provided software is not installed, this unit will be recognized as an external storage when connected.Memo : 
    0 To record to discs, a recordable DVD or Blu-ray drive is required for the computer in use.
    0 Still images cannot be recorded to discs using the provided software.
    0 Videos recorded in the iFrame format can not be copied.
    0 In order to record on the Blu-ray disc, it is necessary to upgrade to the paid version of LoiLoFit for Everio.

    Verifying System Requirements (Guideline)
    Right-click on “Computer” (or “My Computer”) in the “Start” menu and select “Properties” to check the following items.

    							Installing the Provided Software
    You can display the recorded images in calendar format and perform editing using the provided software.

    							Backing Up Files
    Before making backup, make sure that enough free space is left in thecomputer's hard disk (HDD).
    Backup will not start if there is not enough free space.
    1 Remove the AC adapter and battery pack from this unit.
    2 Open the LCD monitor.

    3Connect the USB cable and the AC adapter.
    .
    A Connect using the provided USB cable.
    B  Connect the AC adapter to this unit.
    0 This unit powers on automatically when the AC adapter is connected.
    0 Be sure to use the supplied AC adapter.
    C  The “SELECT DEVICE” menu appears.
    4 Tap “CONNECT TO PC”.

    5Tap “BACK UP”.
    .
    0Tap  L to exit the menu.
    0 Tap  0029 to return to the previous screen.
    0 The provided software LoiLoFit for Everio starts up on the computer.
    The subsequent operations are to be performed on the computer.
    6 Select the files to back up.

    0Click “Select all” to select all the files at once.
    7 After selecting, click “Next”.

    8Click “Yes” to start backup.
    .
    0Backup starts.
    0 The tab on the right side becomes blank when the backup is
    completed.

    Memo : 
    0Videos recorded in the iFrame format can not be copied.
    0 Before making backup, load the SD card in which the videos and still
    images are stored on this unit.
    0 After backing up your files using the provided software, they cannot be
    restored to this unit.
    0 Delete unwanted videos before making backup.
    It takes time to back up many videos.

    							Disconnecting this Unit from Computer1Click “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media”.

    2Click “Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device”.
    3 (For Windows Vista) Click “OK”.
    4 Disconnect the USB cable and close the LCD monitor.
    Recording Videos to Discs1Insert a new disc into the PC's recordable DVD or Blu-ray drive.
    2 Click “Disk” to select the disc type.

    3Select the date that the desired videos for saving on the disc was
    recorded.

    4Select the files to save.
    .
    5Click “Next”.

    8After copying, click “Cancel”.

    0Click “Cancel” to end creating the disc.

    0The following types of discs can be used on the provided software LoiLoFit

    DVD-R DL
    DVD-RW
    0 In order to record on the Blu-ray disc, it is necessary to upgrade to the paid
    version of LoiLoFit for Everio.

    							Backing Up Files Without Using Provided Software
    Copy the files to a computer using the following method.
    1Remove the AC adapter and battery pack from this unit.
    2 Open the LCD monitor.

    3Connect the USB cable and the AC adapter.

    A Connect using the provided USB cable.
    B  Connect the AC adapter to this unit.
    0 This unit powers on automatically when the AC adapter is connected.
    0 Be sure to use the supplied AC adapter.
    C  The “SELECT DEVICE” menu appears.
    4 Tap “CONNECT TO PC”.

    5Tap “PLAYBACK ON PC”.
    .
    0Tap  L to exit the menu.
    0 Tap  0029 to return to the previous screen.
    0 Close the LoiLoFit for Everio program, if it starts.
    0 The following screen is displayed after the camera operation is
    completed.

    0Operations are to be performed on the computer after the screen
    switches.
    6 Select “Computer” (Windows Vista) / “My Computer” (Windows XP) /
    “Computer” (Windows 7) from the “Start” menu, then click on the
    “JVCCAM_MEM” or “JVCCAM_SD” icon.
    0 Open the folder with the desired files.

    7 Copy the files to any folder in the computer (desktop, etc).Memo : 
    0To edit/view the files, use a software that supports iFrame (video)/ AVCHD
    (video)/JPEG (still image) files.
    0 The above operations on computer may vary with the system used.
    Disconnecting this Unit from Computer

    Click “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media”.

    2Click “Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device”.
    3 (For Windows Vista) Click “OK”.
    4 Disconnect the USB cable and close the LCD monitor.

    Folders and files are created in the SD card as shown below.
    They are created only when necessary. .
    Caution : 
    0When the camera and PC are connected by an USB cable, recorded media are read-only.
