    9  Print
    The XeroxPhaser 3635 produces high quality prints from electronic documents. You can 
    access the printer from your PC by installing the appropriate printer driver.
    A printer driver converts the code within the electronic document into a language that the 
    printer can understand. 
    NOTE: More detailed information about printing is contained either in the printer driver 
    screens or in the electronic user guides that accompany the printer drivers. 
    To access the many printer drivers which can be used with your machine, refer to the Drivers 
    CD or download the latest versions from the Xerox website at www.xerox.com.
    The following pages contain an overview of the Windows printer driver options for the Xerox 
    Phaser 3635 that are compatible with Adobe
    ® PostScript® 3TM. The PCL printer driver 
    screens are similar to those shown but with a reduced selection of options.

    Print Procedure
    This section describes the basic procedure for printing.
    NOTE: If an authentication feature is enabled, you may need an account before 
    using the machine. To get an account, or for more information, contact the 
    System Administrator.
    Documents can be printed from your PC using the print drivers supplied. The print 
    driver must be loaded on each PC which uses the machine for printing.
    Select Print from Your PC
    1.Click Print in your 
    application.
    2.From the Printer: 
    Name drop down 
    menu, click on your 
    machine to choose 
    it as the printer.
    Select the Features
    1.Click on Properties to make your print selections. For information on the 
    individual tabs, refer to the following:
    Paper / Output – page 151
    Layout / Watermark – page 153
    Image Options – page 154

    Custom Size Printing
    This section describes the procedure for printing on custom size media.
    1 Load Custom Size Media
    1.Load custom size media into your machine. 
    2.Follow the touchscreen prompts to confirm paper size and type.
    Select Print from Your PC
    1.Click on Print in your 
    application.
    2.From the Printer: 
    Name drop down 
    menu, click on your 
    machine to choose it 
    as the printer.
    Select the Custom Size
    1.Click on Properties to make your print selections.
    2.Click on the Paper/Output tab and click on the Paper drop down menu.
    3.Click on Other Size.
    4.From the Original Document Size drop down menu, click New.
    5.Rename as needed and change to the appropriate width. Click OK to confirm 
    changes.
    6.Your new Custom Paper Size is displayed. Click OK.
    7.On the Paper/Output tab, your new custom size is ready to click as needed.
    NOTE: Always ensure that the appropriate media is loaded in your machine. 
    Banner sheets will continue to print on the default paper size unless disabled.

    Printer Drivers 
    The following provides an overview of the features available on the Windows 
    printer driver - the appearance of other printer drivers may vary. For more 
    information about a specific feature, please refer to the online Help facility 
    provided as part of the printer driver software.
    Control Options 
    There are a number of options which appear on all of the printer driver screens:
    OptionDescription
    OK
    Saves all the new settings and closes the driver or 
    dialog. These new settings remain in effect until 
    changed or until the software application is closed 
    and the printer driver options revert to the default 
    settings.
    Cancel
    Closes the dialog and returns all settings in the tabs 
    to the values that were in place before the dialog was 
    opened. Any changes made are lost.
    Help
    Click Help in the bottom right of the printer driver 
    screen or F1 on the PC keyboard for information on 
    the displayed printer driver screen. If the tip of the 
    mouse pointer is rested on top of a control, Microsoft 
    Windows will display a brief Help Tip about that 
    control. If the right mouse button selects a control, 
    the Help system provides more detailed information.
    Defaults
    Resets the current tab and all its settings to the 
    system default values. The action of this button 
    applies only to the current tab. All other tabs remain 
    unchanged.

    Paper / Output 
    Used to select options such as the job type and the media requirements. The 
    choices available are based on the options enabled on your machine. Click on the 
    arrow scroll button for the option or click on the Option icon to change any of the 
    choices displayed.
    Choose from the following job types:
    QueueDescription
    Normal Print
    Prints the job immediately without requiring a 
    passcode. 
    Secure Print
    Prints the job only after you enter your passcode on 
    the printer's control panel. When you choose this job 
    type, the Secure Print dialog box appears so you can 
    save your passcode. 
    Sample Set
    Prints one copy of the job as a sample and holds the 
    remaining copies of the job at the printer until you 
    release them from the printer's control panel.

    Delay Print
    Prints the job at the time you specify. When you 
    choose this job type, the Delay Print dialog box 
    appears so you can specify the time to print.

    Layout / Watermark
    Used to change the layout of a document and add watermarks. 
    Multiple documents can be printed on one page from 2-Up to 16-Up.
    Booklets can also be created.
    Use the Watermark option to display, for example, the word DRAFT or 
    CONFIDENTIAL across each page. This feature also adjusts the size and location 
    of the watermark.

    Image Options
    Use the options available in this tab to modify the appearance of your print job. 
    This feature can also be used to print draft versions by choosing the Toner Saver 
    option.
