You can open the pr\Iotective bag with your hands from the notch.
    *
     Keep the prot

the toner cartridge for printer maintenance or other pu\Irposes.

4 Gently shake the toner \bartridge five or six times
    to e

     IMPORTANT
    Precau\bion\f when pulling \uou\b \bhe \fealing \bape
Do not pull the seali\Ing tape at an angle\I or up and down. If the tape
breaks, it may not be pulled out\I completely.
    	 		Front View
    • If the sealing tape \Iis still hanging outside the toner cartridge, pull
    it out completely
. If the tape remains inside the \Itoner cartridge,
it may cause poor print quality. If you are using the Fax, please
note that you can only print the received data once, because the
received data is deleted once it is printed.
    •
Dispose of the sea\Iling tape according to local r

    egulations.
    7 Insert the toner \bartridge.
Fit (A) on both sides o\If the toner cartridge into the guides located

    Precau\bion\f When Replacing Toner Car\bridge
See “Maintenance and Inspections” (→P. xv) in “Important

     WARNING
    Do no\b di\fpo\fe of a u\fed \boner car\bridge in an open

    Abou\b replacemen\b \boner car\bridge\f
For optimum print quality, when you replace the toner cartridge,

Be Careful of Coun\berfei\b Toner Car\bridge\f.
Please be aware that there are counterfeit Canon toner cartridges
    in the marketplace.
Use of counterfeit toner cartridges may result in poor print quality
    or machine performance.
Canon is not responsible for any malfunction, accident or \Idamage
caused by the use of count\Ierfeit toner cartridges.
For more information, see the following Web site.

    Shake \bhe \boner car\bridge before replacemen\b.
If the toner is not distributed evenly inside the car\Itridge, this may
    cause poor print quality.
    Hold \bhe \boner car\bridge\f properly.
When handling the t\Ioner cartridge, hold it properly, as shown in
the illustration be\Ilow. Do not stand it vertically or hold it u\Ipside

    • Do not expose the t\Ioner cartridge to direct sunlight or strong
    light.
    •
     Never disassemble or m\Iodify it.
    •
     Condensation may f

brought into an environment that expose\Is it to sudden changes
    in temperature and/or humidity.
If you move the toner cartridge to a location that i\Is warmer or
has higher humidit\Iy, leave the cartridge in the new location for
2 hours or longer w\Iithout opening the\I protective bag to allow it
to adjust to the new temperature.
    •
     Do not leav

    cartridges installed.
    •
     Keep the toner car

tridge away from equipment that \Igenerates
magnetic fields, such as LCD displays and computers.
    •
     A toner

cartridge is a magnetic product. Keep the toner cartridge
away from products that may be damaged by magnetism, such
as a floppy disk or disk drive. This may lead to damage to data.
     NOTE
    Abou\b \bhe packing ma\berial\f
The packing materials are subject to change in form or placement,
or may be added or removed without notice.
    When i\f \fe\b \bo

The machine continu\Ies printing the received fax if the toner
cartridge is not replaced. Note that the output \Imay not be clear, as
subtle details such\I as thin lines and \Ilight colors may not be clearly
reproduced, due to a small amount of\I toner remaining inside th\Ie
toner cartridge. Plus, the data is delet\Ied once it has bee\In printed.
