∫Using the extended optical zoom (EZ)
When the optical z oom (P37) is used, 
subjects can usually be magnified up to 
3 times. However, if you select a picture 
size such as [ ] (3M EZ) which activates 
the extended optical zoom, the zoom ratio

adjusted. However, if you want brighter 
pictures, you can manually select a slower 
shutter speed. This is especially effective if 
you want to take pictures where both the 
night landscape and the subject are bright, 
using [NIGHT PORTRAIT] (P59) in scene 
mode.
The slow shutter speed values you can 
select are: [1/8 – ], [1/4 – ], [1/2 – ] and [1 – ].

Playing Back Pictures with Audio/Motion Pictures

Using the [PLAY] mode menu
You can use various functions in playback 
mode such as a rotating function or 
protections for recorded pictures.
 
 When rotating the zoom lever toward T or 
W, the page of the menu screen can be 
forwarded or reversed.
 After selecting a menu item with the 
operation described above, make settings
