Using the [REC] Mode 
Menu
Increase the variety of pictures you can 
take by setting color effect, picture 
adjustment etc.
• Set the mode dial to the desired recording 
mode.
• Menu items differ depending on the mode 
selected with the mode dial (P6). This 
page describes how to set [AUDIO REC.] 
in program AE mode [ ]. (Refer to P83  to 
101 for each menu item.)

wUsing FUNCTION setting
You can use the [FUNCTION] button to 
easily set the following 6 items when 
recording.
• AF mode (P90)
• Metering mode (P89)
• White balance (P83)
• ISO sensitivity (P85)
• Picture size (P87)
• Quality (P87)

wAuto white balance
The available white balance range is shown 
in the following illustration. When you take 
a picture beyond the available white 
balance range, the picture may appear 
reddish or bluish. Even when you take a 
picture inside the range shown in the 
illustration, auto white balance may not 
operate properly if there are many light 
sources or there is no color close to white. 
In these cases, set the white balance to a 
mode other than [AUTO].

sensitivity is automatically adjusted from 
[ISO100] to [ISO200] according to the 
brightness. (It can be adjusted from 
[ISO100] to [ISO400] when using the 
flash.)

subject near the center of the screen and

• To avoid picture noises, we recommend 
reducing the ISO sensitivity, setting

[NOISE REDUCTION] to [LOW] to take
