    This effect gives your photo a dramatic color look.
    This effect reduces peripheral brightness to give the impressio n of 
    a toy camera.
    This effect creates a vivid and bright image with the look of a  toy 
    camera.
    This effect gives a higher contrast and a lower saturation to create 
    a sober and tranquil picture.

    This effect blurs peripheral areas to give the impression of a 
    diorama.
    ∫ Setting the type of defocus
    With [Miniature Effect] you can make the subject stand out by i ntentionally creating 
    defocused and in-focus portions.
    You can set the recording orientation (defocus orientation) and  the position and size of the 
    in-focus portion.
    1Press [Fn4] to display the setting screen.
    •
    Setting screen can also be displayed by touching in order of [ ] then [ ].
    2Press  3/4  or  2/1 to move the in-focus portion.
    •You can also move the in-focus portion by touching the 
    screen on the recording screen.
    •Touching [ ] allows you to set the recording orientation 
    (defocus orientation).
    3Rotate the rear dial to change the size of in-focus 
    portion.
    •
    The portion can also be enlarged/reduced by pinching out/pinching in  (P59) the screen.
    •Pressing [DISP.]  will return the in-focus portion setting back  to the default setting.
    4Press [MENU/SET] to set.
    •
    Display of the recording scre en will be delayed more than usual  and the screen will look as if 
    frames are dropping.
    •No sound is recorded in motion pictures.•Approximately 1/10 of the time period is recorded.
    (If you record for 10 minutes, the resulting motion picture reco rding will be approximately 
    1 minute long.)
    The displayed available recording time is approximately 10 times. When switching to Recording 
    Mode, please check the available recording time.
    •If you end motion picture recording after a short time, the cam era may go on recording for a 
    certain period. Please continue to hold the camera until the re cording finishes.
    •When the Focus Mode is set to [MF], move the focused location t o the in-focus portion.

    Set the color to leave in by selecting a location on the screen .
    1Press [Fn4] to display the setting screen.

    Setting screen can also be displayed by touching in order of [ ] then [ ].
    2Select the color you want to leave by moving the 
    frame with 3/4/2 /1 .
    •
    You can also select the color you want to leave by touching 
    the screen.
    •Pressing [DISP.]  will return the frame back to the center.
    3Press [MENU/SET] to set.
    •
    Depending on the subject, the set color may not be left in.

    This effect adds a cast of light to the scene.
    ∫ Setting the light source
    You can change the position and size of the light source.
    1Press [Fn4] to display the setting screen.
    •Setting screen can also be displayed by touching in order of [ ] then [ ].
    2Press 3/4/2/1 to move the center position of the light source.•The position of the light source can also be moved by touching  the screen. •The center of the light source can be moved to the edge of the screen.
    3Adjust the size of the light source by rotating the rear 
    dial.
    •
    The display can also be enlarged/reduced by pinching out/pinchi ng in.•Pressing [DISP.]  will return the light source setting back to the default setting.
    4Press [MENU/SET] to set.
    •
    Display of the recording scre en will be delayed more than usual  and the screen will look as if 
    frames are dropping.
    [Sunshine]
    Items that can be set

    •Select the color tone by rotating the 
    rear dial, and then press [MENU/SET] .
    Point for when placing the center of the light 
    source
    A more natural appearance can be created by 
    placing the center of the light source outside the

    Recording motion pictures with manually set 
    aperture value/shutter speed 
    (Creative Video Mode)
    Recording Mode: 
    It is possible to manually change the aperture and shutter speed and record motion 
    pictures.
    1Set the mode dial to [ ].
    2Select the menu. (P63)
    3Press  3/4 to select [P], [A], [S] or [M], and then press [MENU/SET].
    •The operation for changing the aperture value or shutter speed  is the same as the 
    operation for setting the mode dial to  ,  ,   or  .
    4Start recording.
    •Press the motion picture button or the shutter button to start  recording a motion picture.
    (Still pictures cannot be taken.)
    5Stop recording.
    •Press the motion picture button or the shutter button to stop r ecording a motion picture.
    •Aperture value–Set the aperture value to a higher number when you want a sharp focus background. Set the 
    aperture value to a lower number when you want a soft focus background.
    •Shutter speed–When you want to take a sharp picture of a fast moving subject,  set with a faster shutter 
    speed. When you want to create a trail effect, set to a slower  shutter speed.
    –Manually setting a higher shutter speed may increase the noise on-screen due to the higher 
    sensitivity.
    –When subjects are recorded in an extremely bright place or unde r fluorescent/LED lighting, 
    the color tone or brightness of the image may change, or horizo ntal stripes may appear on 
    the screen. In that case, cha nge the Recording Mode or manually adjus t the shutter speed to 
    1/60 or 1/100.
    •When [Exposure Mode] is set to [M], [AUTO] of the ISO sensitivi ty will switch to [200].•Drive mode settings are disabled.

    The operational sound of the zoom or button operation may be recorded when it is 
    operated during the recording of a motion picture.
    Using touch icons allows silent operation while recording motio n pictures.

    •The speed of the operation varies depending on the 
    position you touch.

    Registering your preferred settings (Custom Mode)
    Recording Mode: 
    You can register the current camera settings as custom settings.
    If you then record in Custom Mode, you can use the registered s ettings.
    •
    Initial setting of the Program AE Mode is registered as the cus tom settings initially.
    To allow recording using the same settings, up to 3 sets of current camera settings can be 
    registered using [Cust.Set Mem.]. ( ,  ,  )
    Preparations:
    Set in advance the Recording Mode you wish to save and select t he desired menu 
    settings on the camera.
    1Select the menu.  (P63)
    2Press  3/4 to select the custom set to register and then press 
    [MENU/SET].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is  selected.
    Exit the menu after it is executed.
    •The following menu items are not registered as custom settings.

     You can easily call up the settings you have registered using [Cust.Set Mem.].
    Set the mode dial to [ ]
    •The custom set you used last time ([ ], [ ], or [ ]) will be calle d up.
    ∫To change a custom set 
    1Set the mode dial to [ ].
    2Press [MENU/SET] to display the menu.
    3Press  2/1 to select the custom setting you want to use, and then 
    press [MENU/SET].
    •Saving of the selected custom settings is displayed on 
    the screen.
    ∫ Changing the settings
    Registered contents do not change when the menu setting is chan ged temporarily with the 
    mode dial set to  . To change the r egistered settings, overwrite the registered content 
    using [Cust.Set Mem.] on the custom settings menu.

    4.  Picture Quality and Color Tone 
    Settings
    Adjusting the Picture Quality by Adding an 
    Effect 
    ([Photo Style])
    Applicable modes: 
    You can select effects to match the type of image you wish to r ecord.
    It is possible to adjust the items such as color or picture qua lity of the effect to your desire.
    ¢1 This is disabled when Intelligent Auto Plus Mode is selected.
    ¢ 2 These can be set only in Creative Video Mode.
    ¢ 3 When the actual brightness and the brightness to be captured a re adjusted at each 
    brightness level, the relationship between these two kinds of brightness is plotted as a 
    nonlinear curve. This is called the gamma curve.
    •In Intelligent Auto Plus Mode, the setting will be reset to [St andard] when the camera is 
    switched to another Recording Mode or this unit is turned on an d off.
    •In Scene Guide Mode, a photo style which matches each scene is  fixed.•Those menu items are shared by the [Rec] menu and the [Motion P icture] menu. When the 
    setting for either of the two is changed, the setting for the o ther is also changed.

    This is the standard setting.
     [Vivid]¢1Brilliant effect with high saturation and contrast.
     [Natural]¢1Soft effect with low saturation.
     [Monochrome]
    Monochrome effect with no color shades.
     [Scenery]¢1An effect appropriate for sceneries with vivid blue skies and 
    greens.
     [Portrait]¢ 1An effect appropriate for portraits with a healthy and beautifu l 
    skin tone.
     [Custom]¢ 1Use the setting registered in advance.
     [Cinelike D]¢2Gives priority to the dynamic range by using a gamma curve¢3 
    designed to create film-like images. Suited for editing.
     [Cinelike V]¢ 2Gives priority to the contrast by using a gamma curve¢3 
    designed to create film-like images.
