    Check1 Press ON button.
    Check2
     Make sure power plug is securely connected to machine, and then turn it back
    on.
    Check3  Unplug machine, leave it for at least 3 minutes, and then plug it back in and
    turn it on again.
    If this does not solve the problem, contact your nearest Canon service center to request a repair.

    							Power Shuts Off By Itself
    Check If machine is set to turn off automatically after a certain time, disable this setting.
    If you have set the machine to turn off automatically after a specified time, the power will shut off by itself once
    that time has elapsed.
    
    						
    							USB Connection Problems
    Printing or Scanning Is Slow/Hi-Speed USB Connection Does Not
    Work/"This device can perform faster" Message Appears (Windows)
    If your system environment does not support Hi-Speed USB, the machine operates at the slower speed of USB 1.1. In this case, the machine works properly but printing or scanning speed may slow down due to
    the communication speed.
    Check  Check following to make sure your system environment supports Hi-Speed
    USB connection.
    
    						
    							Cannot Communicate with Machine via USB
    Check1 Make sure machine is turned on.
    Check2 Connect USB cable properly.
    As the illustration below, the USB port is at the back of the machine.
    Check3  Do not start IJ Network Tool while printing.
    Check4 Do not print while IJ Network Tool is running.
    Check5 Make sure  Enable bidirectional support  is selected in Ports sheet of
    properties dialog box of printer driver. (Windows)

    							LCD Shows Wrong Language
    Follow the instructions below to select your language.
    1.
    Press HOME  button and wait for about 5 seconds.
    2.
    Select  Setup  on HOME screen.

    Select  Device settings  and press OK button.
    4.
    Press  button 4 times and press  OK button.
    5.
    Use  button to select a language for LCD and press  OK button.

    							Print Head Holder Does Not Move to Replacement Position
    Check1 Is POWER  lamp off?
    Check if the  POWER lamp is lit.
    The print head holder will not move unless the power is on. If the  POWER lamp is off, close the operation panel
    and turn the machine on.
    The  POWER  lamp flashes while the machine is initializing. Wait until the  POWER lamp stops flashing and
    remains lit, and then open the operation panel again.
    Check2  Is an error message displayed on LCD?
    Close the operation panel, follow the support code (error number) displayed in the error message to resolve the error, and then reopen it. For details on resolving the error, see 
    List of Support Code for Error .
    Check3
     Has operation panel been left open for 10 minutes or longer?
    If the operation panel is left open for more than 10 minutes, the print head holder moves to the position to protect it to prevent the print head from drying out. Close and reopen the operation panel to return the print head holder
    to the position for replacing.
    Check4  Has machine been printing continuously for a long period?
    Close the operation panel, wait a while, and then reopen it.
    If the machine has been printing continuously for a long time, the print head holder may not move to the position
    for replacing since the print head may overheat.
