The ink tank may be an ink tank that ran out of genuine Canon ink or a counterfeit Canon ink tank.
What to Do
To print, you must replace the ink tank or disable the function for detecting the remaining ink level. To disable the function for detecting the remaining ink level, press and hold the printer's  Stop button for at
least 5 seconds, and then release it.
By this operation, the fact that you have disabled the function for detecting the remaining ink level will be memorized. Please be advised that Canon shall not be liable for any malfunction or trouble caused by
continuation of printing under the ink out condition or by using refilled ink tanks.

Non-genuine Canon ink tank has been detected.
What to DoTo print, you must replace the ink tank or disable the function for detecting the remaining ink level. Todisable the function for detecting the remaining ink level, press and hold the printer's  Stop button for at
least 5 seconds, and then release it.
By this operation, the fact that you have disabled the function for detecting the remaining ink level will be
memorized. Please be advised that Canon shall not be liable for any malfunction or trouble caused by
using a non-genuine Canon ink tank.

Appropriate ink tank is not installed.
What to DoPrinting cannot be executed because the ink tank is not compatible with this machine.
Install the appropriate ink tank.
If you want to cancel printing, press the machine's  Stop button.

Cassette is not inserted.
What to Do
Close the paper output tray, and push the cassette so that the 
 mark on the cassette aligns with the 
mark on the machine.
Open the paper output tray and press the machine's  OK button.

							1890Cause
Protective material or tape may still be attached to print head holder.
What to Do Open the operation panel and make sure the protective material and tape have been removed from the
print head holder.
If the protective material or tape is still there, remove it and close the operation panel.
If this does not solve the problem, contact your nearest Canon service center to request a repair.

Paper settings for printing or copying differ from cassette paper information set on machine.
