    WhenconfiguringtheiLOnetworkconnectionoptions,observethefollowing:
    •OnlyoneoftheDedicatedNetworkPortorSharedNetworkPortoptionscanbeenabledat
    atimebecauseiLOsupportsonlyoneactiveNICconnection.
    •Bydefault,theiLOSharedNetworkPortusesport1ontheserverNIC.Dependingonthe
    serverconfiguration,thisNICmightbeaLOMorFlexibleLOMadapter.Theportnumber
    correspondstothelabelontheNIC,whichmightbedifferentfromthenumberinginthe
    operatingsystem.iLO42.00andlaterallowsyoutoselectadifferentportifyourserverand
    NICsupportportselection.Ifaportotherthanport1isselectedforSharedNetworkPortuse,
    andthatconfigurationisnotsupportedbyyourserver,iLOwillswitchbacktoport1whenit
    starts.
    •AccesstoiLOviaIPv6isnotcurrentlysupportedwhentheSharedNetworkPortisenabled.
    •OnserversthatdonothaveaniLODedicatedNetworkPort,thestandardhardware
    configurationprovidesiLOnetworkconnectivityonlythroughtheiLOSharedNetworkPort
    connection.Ontheseservers,theiLOfirmwaredefaultstotheSharedNetworkPort.
    •Duetoserverauxiliary-powerbudgetlimitations,some1Gb/scoppernetworkadaptersused
    foriLOSharedNetworkPortfunctionalitymightrunat10/100speedwhentheserveris
    poweredoff.Toavoidthisissue,HPrecommendsconfiguringtheswitchthattheiLOShared
    NetworkPortisconnectedtoforauto-negotiation.
    IftheswitchportthatiLOisconnectedtoisconfiguredfor1Gb/s,pleasebeawarethatsome
    copperiLOSharedNetworkPortadaptersmightloseconnectivitywhentheserverispowered
    off.Connectivitywillreturnwhentheserverispoweredbackon.
    •DisablingtheiLOSharedNetworkPortdoesnotcompletelydisablethesystemNIC—server
    networktrafficcanstillpassthroughtheNICport.WhentheiLOSharedNetworkPortis
    disabled,anytrafficgoingtoororiginatingfromiLOwillnotpassthroughtheSharedNetwork
    Port.
    •IftheSharedNetworkPortisenabled,youcannotmodifythelinkstateorduplexoptions.
    WhenusingSharedNetworkPortconfigurations,thesesettingsmustbemanagedinthe
    operatingsystem.
    ConfiguringtheNICsettings
    UsetheNICSettingssectionoftheNetworkGeneralSettingstabtoenabletheiLOSharedNetwork
    PortortheiLODedicatedNetworkPort,andtoconfiguretheassociatedNICsettings.

    separateLANs,eveniftheyarephysicallyconnectedtothesameLAN.
    8.IfyouenabledVLAN,enteraVLANTag.Allnetworkdevicesthatyouwanttocommunicate
    witheachothermusthavethesameVLANtag.TheVLANtagcanbeanynumberbetween
    1and4094.
    9.ClickSubmittosavethechanges.
