    iLOattemptstotransmitdataonlywhenitchangesandbecomesstableonthescreen.Ifa

    WhenaText-basedRemoteConsolesessionisactive,thedataisdisplayedrapidlyandis
    essentiallyindecipherable.IfthedataistransmittedbyiLOacrossthenetwork,itconsumes
    bandwidth.Thedefaultbehaviorissmoothing(delay 0),whichtransmitsdataonlywhen
    thechangesbecomestableonthescreen.Youcancontrolordisablesmoothingbyusingthe

    OperatingsystemUSBrequirement
    TouseVirtualMediadevices,youroperatingsystemmustsupportUSBdevices,includingUSB
    massstoragedevices.Formoreinformation,seeyouroperatingsystemdocumentation.
    Duringsystemboot,theROMBIOSprovidesUSBsupportuntiltheoperatingsystemloads.Because
    MS-DOSusestheBIOStocommunicatewithstoragedevices,utilitydiskettesthatbootDOSwill
    alsofunctionwithVirtualMedia.
    UsingVirtualMediawithWindows7
    Bydefault,Windows7powersofftheiLOvirtualhubwhennoVirtualMediadevicesareenabled
    orconnectedduringboot.Tochangethissetting,usethefollowingprocedure:

    1.StarttheJavaIRC.
    2.SelectVirtualDrives→CreateDiskImage.
    TheCreateMediaImagedialogboxopens.
    3.VerifythattheDisk>>Imagebuttonisdisplayed.IfthebuttonlabelisImage>>Disk,clickthe
    buttontochangeittoDisk>>Image.
    4.Dooneofthefollowing:
    •Ifyouwilluseafile,selecttheMediaFileoption,andthenclickBrowseandnavigateto
    thefileyouwanttouse.
    •Ifyouwillusephysicalmedia,selectthedriveletterofthefloppydisk,USBkey,or
    CD-ROMintheMediaDrivemenu.
    5.EnterthepathandfilenamefortheimagefileintheImageFiletextbox.
    6.ClickCreate.
